Mmm, I like Cheese scones but haven't had any for a long time.

carrotsandcelery · 19/03/2012 12:40

I have had 2.

I now need to step far away from the scones.

It is possible that I could eat them all...

carrotsandcelery · 19/03/2012 12:42

Do I serve them for snack after school or do I make soup and make them part of tonight's tea?

Hmmmm.....

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 19/03/2012 12:56

Hi I'm here :)

So glad you like them carrots! I have also had one for lunch (would have had more but there were only three left, one each for me and the boys.)

Sorry, been busy busy - went straight off to my course after dropping ds1 off at school, there until 11.10 when I picked ds1 back up on my way home (ds2 has a creche place whilst I'm on the course) then put ds2 to bed for a quick nap, ds1 and I have eaten. Will need to wake ds2 in a minute as he needs to get this scone down his neck before we go off to see [http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2111518/A-yarn-Olympic-proportions--Mystery-knitter-attaches-50-yard-long-scarf-featuring-woollen-athletes-pier.html this] with a friend and her DCs

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 19/03/2012 13:06

this even Blush

CatsSleepAnywhere · 19/03/2012 13:07

I'm just gonna grab something else to eat then I'm hoping to start work at 1.15 ----> 1.30, then have a break (if needed) then another 15 mins or so. Wink

Anyone around for "Buddying"?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 19/03/2012 13:09

Chaotic Grin Brilliant!!!!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 19/03/2012 13:34

1 x washing up done.

carrotsandcelery · 19/03/2012 13:51

Chaotic that looks fantastic! Please tell us about it when you get back.

bessie26 · 19/03/2012 14:36

wow - that looks brilliant chaotic!

Took DD1 swimming this morning. They are both napping now so am rushing to get tea prepped up before I wake DD1 (am waiting for spuds to cook ) DD2 took ages to get off to sleep, so I think she might need to drop her morning nap soon

Need to finish my meal plan this arvo so I can get the shopping list written tonight after my run.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 19/03/2012 17:05

It was bloomin shut Angry

We got there (it's only 10 mins away so hardly a hardship but that's not the point Wink) and as we walked over from the bigger carpark we were thinking Hmm there's nobody on the pier...got there and there was a poster saying, sorry the pier is shut today and tomorrow. A lady said 'they're filming something, Ben Fogle is sat over there look' and there he was...just having sat having acoffee at one of the cafes! So my friend and I went and got an icecream for the boys so we could sit closer and have a nosey but not long after we sat down they proceeded with filming whatever it is they were doing so he left the coffee shop.

Sooooooooo I didn't get to see the exhibition, but I got to see Ben Fogle instead! Apparently he was happy to sign something for someone just before we got there - tis always nice to hear of slebs being nice and not up themselves Grin

Made the boys quorn nuggets, waffles, peas and cauliflower cheese for tea and prepared a pasta sauce whilst that was cooking, ready to shove some pasta into when dh gets home. Need to meal plan for the rest of the week tonight though

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 19/03/2012 18:07

Aha now this makes sense now!

carrotsandcelery · 19/03/2012 18:25

Ben Fogle gets everywhere. If he is not adventuring in the ice and snow, or battling crocodiles, he is looking at Yarnbombing in North Yorkshire Shock

I am extremely jealous of the cauliflower cheese. I can't remember having that for years.

I am having a challenging afternoon and evening. As if dd's project wasn't bad enough, ds has now come home with one and it is a "make it" one. I clearly should have predicted that in the week we are having a lot of visitors for dd's birthday party at the weekend.

Thank goodness for cheese scones. Grin

carrotsandcelery · 19/03/2012 20:20

Dh has decreed that your scones are officially delicious Chaotic. Dd also loved them. Ds ate half of one which is not bad for him either. Thank you once again.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 19/03/2012 20:22

You are very welcome!

Today's goal is to fly like an eagle. I want to BE PRODUCTIVE today and not sit on my lazy bum. It's also Seniors night. AND I promised Toddler that if it was nice we would go to the park & playground to play. I might need pointy sticks later.

bessie26 · 20/03/2012 07:34
carrotsandcelery · 20/03/2012 09:31

-> pointy sticks ready and waiting for Scout.

bessie and Scout remember one step at a time. Do the job, take a breath, do the next one, have a Brew, do the next one, take a breath - repeat as necessary.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 20/03/2012 09:56

Morning all, Feeling a bit bluurggh! today. I have a sore throat and didn't get enough sleep last night thanks to DD being whingey.

So today's plan is a bit like this:

finish my coffee
feed the cat
go and shower to see if I feel better afterwards
put away some dry washing
hang the line dried washing on airer (if not completely dry)
pick up DD from nursery

lunch

wash up/dry up
sort some paperwork and try to find important document Shock
pick up DS from school
drop of DD with DM
see DS teacher
dinner (might be chip shop)
pick up DD
chill ?
and MN in between.

carrotsandcelery · 20/03/2012 11:09

Sympathies Cats. I have a temp, headache and sore throat too. I think that is what is wrong with ds.

zoo to try to keep ds in bed in the morning we are currently making a chart every night which he fills in when he wakes up in the morning. On the chart he has a box for when he wakes up and another box for when he gets up.

He then has a list of activities and boxes beside them and he ticks the box(es) for the things that he does while he waits in bed. eg drawing, listening to a story on CD (with headphones), reading and watching his colour change light.

If he manages to stay in bed to 6pm or after then he is rewarded. The reward can be Golden Time one to one with dh or myself, or it can be a small toy reward (he got a balloon one time he managed it for example) or the rewards can be saved for something bigger eg a trip to the park or similar. Golden time can also be saved for bigger spells at the weekend.

To rules are that he has to be quiet and not wake anyone up. If he wakes anyone then he doesn't get the reward.

We are in the second week of this and he has stopped asking for rewards for now. I don't know if that is because he hasn't stayed in his bed or because he has stopped thinking about it. He has been quiet though which is a start.

I am not convinced he has been in his bed as he is still ridiculously tired at bedtime and still having meltdowns during the day.

To be honest the Golden time is lovely in theory but very hard to give when you have 2 dcs and your dh doesn't come in until very late in the evening. I can only imagine it would be even trickier with 3 young dcs to cater for.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 20/03/2012 11:19

I have showered and fed cat, am now chilling out till nursery pick up but will try harder to do stuff after lunch. Sore throats are grim aren't they carrots.

bessie26 · 20/03/2012 11:31

Oh no! Not another lurgy! Weren't we all ill last time it was the bedroom zone? [suspicious]

carrots I can't do the "do one ob then a Brew before the next" thing. If I sit down I stop. This is the first time I've sat down all morning & it's only because I'm having an early lunch (quorn steak strips I found in the freezer).

cats hope you find that important document!!

Freezer defrosting is going well. I'm going to get the hairdryer on it in a min while I have a Brew, but first I must see how the descaler I put on the inside workings of the loo is getting on (It is so scaled up the flush mechanism isn't working very well. The plumber who fitted it said he would come round, take it apart & clean it properly, but he can't see us for another 3 weeks so I'm seeing if I can make it a bit better in the meantime)

carrotsandcelery · 20/03/2012 12:01

I am so glad we don't have limescale here as I know everything would be ruined by my neglect. You sound like you know what to do and how do deal with it bessie. I wouldn't know where to start.

Cats sore throats are my least favourite of the minor ailments but I have decided that for now my best course of action is to keep busy and hope it distracts me from it.

The cookies are going down well with ds. He doesn't seem to have noticed that there is no sugar in them apart from the banana. (our 2 bananas made the 8oz so we didn't add any at all). I used low fat Bertolli as the marg and that seems to have been fine. They are a bit flapjack like so I might make them as a tray of that in future as we had to cook them on several trays and in 2 batches this time.

As for the bedroom zone, I don't need to do my socks again already. Any suggestions what I should do instead? I am considering being brave and tackling the rest of the bottom of my wardrobe. I am scared I pull it out and then can't face putting it back in but I am sure there are a few pairs of shoes that could be ebayed as I won't wear them again.
