1 lot washing up done(and draining),another load soaking in bowl

bag rubbish taken out to bin

disasterous attempt at wheat free carrot cake crumbled out for birds-we have a lot tweeting/activity in my very high hedge and i suspect nesting will occur soon

i am now succumbing to the colouring books for a bitWink

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 16:59

zoo colouring book definitely earned. A mug of water isn't likely to keep you going with 3 young dcs for the day Shock If BC can take her iron pills and I can avoid the Pepsi, you can have a drink 5 times a day (breakfast, mid morning, lunch, mid afternoon & tea). Your lovely brain will shrivel up into a sultana otherwise!!

BC I think dh understanding will be a large part of the battle. When do you see the counsellor? Are you still taking your iron pills or can I have a glass of coke?

I got a phone call which resolved one of the things that upset me this morning so I feel a bit happier. The other thing is out of my control - there is only so much you can do sometimes - although I can help to find the right person to fix the other thing so that is looking better too. Dh has also messaged and sent me a bosie so that helped too. Sometimes you just need to say it all and get it out of your system.

I have chatted to a few friends, tidied up the hallway which had degenerated into a dreadful mess, hoovered the hall and kitchen (big area) so that looks a lot better and removed a piece of furniture from the kitchen as it was annoying me. It has been dumped in the study though so I will have to be careful. I have also hung another load of washing and put another load on.

Doing a few jobs has also made me feel a bit better.

What's for dinner? It is just ds and me so it will be pasta, pesto and some Cauldron sausages chopped up through it, olives and pine nuts and veggie parmesan if we have any left. Yum!

Dlamis · 16/02/2012 17:03

whispers

liveinazoo · 16/02/2012 17:11

well done dlamis
glad youre feeling a bit more upbeat carrots
i dont know about my brain but each year my face looks a bit more like a sultana!Grin

on the if i do this/you do that front-i will join up and drink more water.i generally remember after the kids are in bed i feel a bit thirsty and realize ive drunk nothing!i have been having soups at lunchtime so that counts some liquid and eating lots more fruit and veg

liveinazoo · 16/02/2012 17:23

dlamis i will colour at any oppurtunity and have been known to colour when they all in bed if im stressed or lowBlush

doing a pirate puzzle now with ds.i love orchard toys ones, theyre so detailed!Grin

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 17:43

I have stayed clear of the fizzy juice zoo so far.

Grin at sultana face. A good friend of mine wanted botox for her wedding. I was Shock as although she has a couple of lines they are ALL about her personality and expression and lovely imo.

You don't need a big drink, just a little glass of water or herbal tea to keep the grey matter plump and juicy. Weeing more is good for you too as it washed out the toxins that can make you feel sluggish. (Hark at me the Pepsi Addict!!!) I am aware of the irony of my advice Grin

Well done dlamis. I hope you have a great time with your family.

On the colouring in front dd's friend was Shock when I joined in with her colouring at Pizza Hut the other day and then Grin and giving me advice on colour choice etc Grin

liveinazoo · 16/02/2012 18:02

ha ha.ive coloured in at PH

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 18:06

zoo the psychologists do encourage me to offer routines, structure and limits for ds. Grin It is much easier said than done though, especially during the holidays.

I am definitely aiming for a holiday routine of some sort for Easter and the Summer. I have to work the dogs round it too. Grin

Scout19075 · 16/02/2012 18:56

Tonight's dinner is slow cooker pepper steak (with rice for me and noodles for MrScout). We got home so late and TS was so tired (refused to nap in his excitement over seeing his best friend) he just had a bowl of cereal, two episodes of Peppa Pig with cuddles and early bed.

liveinazoo · 16/02/2012 19:40

TS bedtime routine tonight would work for meGrin

i have made the effort to wash the dishes and put them away rather than face them in the morning like i normally do

little ones in bed.8yo just having a bit mummy timeSmile

liveinazoo · 16/02/2012 19:59

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 20:08

Night zoo.

Dd came home with another letter saying there were cases of head lice in the school.

I have just spent ages combing through all her hair again but am happy to report that all I found was some black fluff from my cardi and some dandruff Grin

I am hoping that dh will deal with the dishes. I am considering a decaff tea and some mini eggs but should probably just have the tea. Tricky one!

Scout19075 · 16/02/2012 20:20

Sleep well, zoo.

Ack, carrots, not again. You've just made my head itch.

Had a lovely social afternoon. TS has recently (like, two weeks or so) learned how to say his friend's name so all day it was "Toddler's Friend?" When he finally saw her it was "TODDLER'S FRIEND!"

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 20:26

Ha ha! Sorry Scout. I have been itching for weeks. She is all clear for now though. I have kept her hair tied up since the initial outbreak which is supposed to make it harder to catch.

TS sounds so cute. I was with my 2 yo dniece yesterday and she is so gorgeous it gives me a sort of ache. She can just about say my name (you would have to know what she was saying to know what it was iyswim) and can say my dcs names. Both are a little unusual so it is really cute hearing them.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 16/02/2012 20:31

Night Zoo.

Carrots I have been taking my iron tablets every night. Wink
I will PM you about the other. I feel I need to be a little careful about what I say on here as you never know who is lurking and reading.

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 20:39

I know exactly what you mean BC hence my rather cryptic messages earlier. There is only so much you can say in public without outing yourself or worse.

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 20:40

I want a toddler - just for a few hours of course but I WANT A TODDLER!

Scout19075 · 16/02/2012 20:49

TS is lovely most of the time. Grin He has his moments. His imagination is really developing and he has a great personality. I'll loan him out, carrots, but I fear I must insist he comes home.

bessie26 · 16/02/2012 20:59

ahhh carrots - perhaps we should start telling you the horror stories to remind you what it's really like? Wink

I know some people in RL know my MN nickname, so I have another MN account for if I ever want to say anything secret! (I have used it once!) I did think about namechanging, but I couldn't think of what to.

DD1 was in bed at 645 (usually 730) & I think she was asleep instantly. She was so tired & upsetable that I raced through bath & bed routine - I think she was a little shell shocked by it, but I figured it was better to do it as quickly as possible. DD2 then got her bedtime feed & was in bed by 730.

I've washed up, put WM on, had a peanut butter sandwich (with vit pill) & ordered a load of clothes from Next (I need to find somewhere else to buy stuff from!) I'm going to dry up, put DW on and retire to bed with a glass of wine and some Graze treats.

oh arse. just remembered about doing the bins

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 21:00

Loans suit me perfectly Scout. I miss my littlies. My dniece is the cutest happiest little girl.

(I do realise it is a bit harder to permanently rejoice when they are there ALL the time Grin)

BlackCatTryingToFly · 16/02/2012 21:00

I'm gonna go and chill and watch some telly for a bit now. Hopefully will pop in tomorrow.
Hope you all sleep well! x

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 21:02

Sleep well BC.

I dare not disturb the happy mood by meddling with "dh's" remote. I did laugh when I found it in Twilight's bed earlier (with Pup). They are clearly now making a bid for control too Grin

bessie26 · 16/02/2012 21:07

hehehe - tomorrow can you change the tv to the "dog channel" (there must be one?) and put the remote in Twilight's bed again

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 21:09

Ha ha! Loving the idea of a dog channel. I am told there is an advert for dog food with sounds only dogs can hear Grin

Scout19075 · 16/02/2012 21:12

I've heard about that advert but haven't seen/heard it.

I've just put my Easter candy "order" in -- YAY for yellow chick Peeps! With an extra box for TS's Easter Basket.
