bessie26 · 16/02/2012 11:56

remember to do babysteps with the DC zoo - they're not going to become organised in a day!

Have you googled for "reward charts"? I was doing it the other day as I've been trying to think of a cunning way to incentivise DD1 using the loo instead of the potty (she refused my attempts of bribary with chocolate Shock)

Dlamis · 16/02/2012 12:03

Good idea bessie

Crisis cleaning, here I come....................:o

Scout19075 · 16/02/2012 12:08

I'm exhausted and didn't do much anything yet today. Toddler's been fed/watered, changed & dressed and is now down for a rest. It will be a short one since we have to leave here around 1:15-ish to meet his friend for 1:30. Then off to YOUT. I'm having a pause, just 5-10 minutes, before I go and shower and then load the car (I'm giving friend a baby toy of TS's for her youngest, who is about the right age for it and friend we're meeting in YOUT would like to see some jamboree pictures). I need to make sure I have plenty of snacks/drinks and enough to share (friend we're meeting for playdate & I always make sure we have two of each snack/oaty bar/fruit for the kids so there's no snatching). It's an operation to go out sometimes but I'm looking forward to it. Meeting in YOUT is a last minute (yesterday) addition to our day since friend lives a distance but will be in the area.

I've finally made the G & T truffles. Well, the mix anyway. I'll finish them this evening. I did my lime zesting over the sink so now my sink/plughole smell lovely and fresh. Shame my hands no longer smell limey.

Dinner's in the slow cooker and smelly yummy.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 16/02/2012 12:10

Right, I'm back home, just gonna do lunch then get this show on the road.
I feel more determined to make a go of it today, DH is here to help with the DC so it will hopefully be easier to get on with stuff.

Bessie that site map is quite useful.

oh, I keep forgetting to point you at this thread about drinking (we were talking about it the other day/week/month (I think? Blush)) - it reminded me that I used to drink veg stock - kind of like an instant very watery soup!

BlackCatTryingToFly · 16/02/2012 12:55

Am a bit late sitting down for lunch so will be a bit late for 1.00 club.

So far I have: cleaned dining table and cleaned kitchen window.

OP posts:
Dlamis · 16/02/2012 13:12

Right, done the 1st 45 minutes of crisis clean while dinner was cooking. Had dinner, now time for Crisis clean part 2. It's working really well, thanks bessie

Re drinking/water. i never drink enough. I always make sure the ds's have some so why I don't have some at the same time I don't know! Confused I even have 'drink water and have fruit' on my routine list, otherwise i forget.

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 13:13

I am about half way through the drinks thread bessie. I have the Swiss Marigold bouillon and it does say on the tub it can be used as a sort of cup a soup. There is a low salt version I think which might be a healthier option.

I am having a bit of a day and have been struggling not to cry on and off. I am trying to get a grip now and put it all behind me but it's a bit of a battle.

I am also feeling really frustrated as the things that happened also meant that I couldn't get on with any more flying this morning before I got to the stables. It totally ruined my lesson too. Sad and [frustrated emoticon]

I also got caught in CHAOS when a friend came over today and the place was a tip.

Before the Easter hols I need to train my dcs up in a bit of flying. I did have them doing pretty well a few months ago but it has all slid. As soon as something distracts me then we all slide.

I need to have another and more thorough read of those pages for kids. The way I see it, it would be a great gift for my dcs to raise them able to keep on top of life Grin

I am off to try and pull myself together, text dh for some support and I will be back later when I feel a bit more smiley and feel able to do some flying.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 16/02/2012 13:19

I'm off to get started.

OP posts:
bessie26 · 16/02/2012 13:54

I have the low salt version of that stock & it is a very tasty drink.

The slight twinge I felt in my back when taking DD2 swimming yesterday has now spread down my back, across to my shoulder & up to my neck. Had some 'brufen at lunchtime but they seem to have had no effect. DH is going out straight from work tonight, which means I have to do all bath/bedtime by myself, so I'm going to spend DD2s nap time in the shower hoping I can make it a little better.

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 14:10

Thanks bessie - I will come round. It just takes me a wee while to recover from some things.

I hope your back feels better after your shower. I hurt my back at the groomers with Twilight holding her at a funny angle and found the best thing was hot water in the shower and to keep moving but gently. My friend swears by Tiger Balm which has a deep heat effect I think but is not tested on animals. Just go easy on yourself - toddlers, babies and sore backs don't mix well.

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 14:11

On the fly front I have managed to tidy up the worktops again and make dd's packed tea. That's it. Shock

I must go and hang the wet washing before it smells.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 16/02/2012 14:26

I have done 1 x wash up and hoovered dining room/living room and hallway.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 14:39

Well done BC. I have decluttered the kitchen table a bit and hung the washing. The next load is nearly finished but I don't know if I will get it out before the school run.

bessie26 · 16/02/2012 15:24

I have done NO laundry yet today. I don't quite have enough DC clothes or enough lights

My back feels a bit better, I might have a bath tonight to make sure It's not really bad, but I've never had any problems with it until a few months ago & I worry about it becoming something worse. I blame lifting the chubby sturdy children Grin Think I will try to book my spa thing ASAP!

Anyway, this afternoon I have

  • drunk tea
  • decluttered some chocolate
  • had a shower
  • made my hair all big & swishy

I MUST try to pick DD1 up from pre-school early (before 5pm) today, she was very grumpy tired yesterday which makes everything take twice as long. So I need to be eating tea with DD2 at 4pm.

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 15:43

I remember the too tired after nursery problems. When I still worked dd was always the last picked up, at the very last minute, and I had to have her in bed within about 20mins of pick up as she was totally exhausted. It meant that on working days I didn't really see her at all. Sad

I am incredibly sleepy today. I think that the madness of half term caught up on me. Ds is home now and curled up on the sofa very sleepy too. He doesn't even want to play he is so tired.

I have:
decluttered 2 choc digestives
eyed up the Pepsi Max but resisted in the interests of BC's iron
opened the kitchen cupboard I need to tidy up a few times but shut it again fairly quickly
strangely enough I bounced my hair after the stables with my gadget too

Shock ds has curled up in the dog's bed Shock

(he did this yesterday too Shock)

liveinazoo · 16/02/2012 15:59

hi guys!Smile

having had our first "meeting" about cleaning(we all make this place a mess,we all have to help tidy up)we have been "team zoo"

stage 1-girls room

timer set bag up washing

timer toys away while i make beds

(3 loads washing sorted into piles.load 1 in WM)

reward-alvin and chipmunks2 dvd(unwatched xmas gift) plus a milkshake and chocolate digestivesGrin

stage 2-front room

timer set and each designated a task-rubbish/toys/recycling/washing up

all toys then sorted into which room/place they belong

high 5s all round and watched scooby doo on cbbc(dd2 kicked off and wouldnt help stage 2.lost 5mins watching tv.i mean business)

little zoo and ds love the timer and gallop to beat task before it bleepsGrin

i just have kitchen to reclaim(my domain)

halfway through making each a chart with morning and bedtime routines

am planning "hot spots" and "room rescues" just before meals as hunger a good incentive to get things sortedGrin
