Scout what did you order dh for father's day? And what are chick Peeps?

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 21:40

I remember something like that from when I was a child Scout but haven't seen them for years. Very cute!

bessie26 · 16/02/2012 21:56

wow scout that is an impressive discount! Shock

Scout19075 · 16/02/2012 21:59

That's why I ordered it early, bessie. I don't know how long it will be at that price.

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 22:04

The Book People are brilliant. I buy loads of kids books from them.

Scout19075 · 16/02/2012 22:08

I got my mom a mysteries book set (will probably save it for Christmas since I think it will be too heavy to post for her birthday) and a Mother's Day Paddington Bear book in Latin for my MiL. I've only just discovered The Book People but I think I love them.

We buy presents through the year, when we see them, and I have a spreadsheet where I record the gifts, for whom and what gift-giving occassion we're giving them. I have a plastic bin they get stored in. The family is big and anything that needs to be sent home I try to do a month before the occassion. Christmas presents get taken home when we go for Thanksgiving and left with my Mom to put under the tree/distribute. My sister & brother have birthdays within weeks of Christmas (we're usually home for my sister's) so I take those presents with me with the Christmas ones.

Scout19075 · 16/02/2012 22:33

Good night, BabySteppers.

bessie26 · 16/02/2012 23:19

I do look every now & then - got the Mr Men set a few months ago, but am saving it for when DD1 looks like she's tiring of the books she already has (could be a while, she has tonnes) - I get quite alot second hand from amazon, often 1p + £2.50 p&p, never had any problems with quality

I've just been having fun with a spreadsheet trying to work out how much we need to be spending on childcare vouchers over the next few months. Am I very sad for loving spreadsheets? (You don't need to answer that Grin)

I've finished my wine, so I'm just going to check in on the DDs & go to sleep before DH gets home & keeps me awake with his snoring!

I'm at home with both the DDs tomorrow morning, then out at the hairdressers in the afternoon so might not get chance to check in. In case you care, we change zone at the weekend, so last few days to do those missions!!

liveinazoo · 17/02/2012 06:39

Scout19075 · 17/02/2012 06:46

Good morning!

I've been awake since abou t 5:30 when MrScout left for work. I didn't realize last night he was going in early. Ugh.

I've done two of the things from my to do list: opened up/got out TS's two new toys from the weekend (a pull-along wooden dinosaur and a cash register) and disposed of the packaging. Have decided to not give him the toy money yet because I don't think he's ready for it yet but I have given him couple of "credit cards" from card offers in the post that I've shredded the letters/offers. I think he'll like the toy anyway since when I let him look at toys in the toy aisle/s at the supermarket he always plays with a register.

We're out being social mid-morning but I should be around for the 1 o'clock clean club if anyone's about.

bessie We can form the baby steps "I heart spreadsheets club." Grin I LOVE them. Almost anything can be made into a spreadsheet.

bessie26 · 17/02/2012 07:23

Ooh yes scout, meal plan, control journal, accounts (obvs), present lists, Xmas card lists, addresses....

I didn't wake up coughing last night, so I am hopeful I am getting better. The girls both slept soundly & my back feels fine. All looking good here in the BessieHouse! Grin

liveinazoo · 17/02/2012 08:05

whats a spreadsheetBlush

all bathroom missions are done-sparkling from top top light to floor
much easier doing once a month than once in a blue moon and scrubbing forever

kids are fed and watered(i dont do either til around 9.30ish)and just about get dressed(im am already)

have pop shops for milk

Am just reading through up the thread,

I am also wondering what a spreadsheet is? I have a vague idea that it involves a table (not the dining kind!).

Zoo my DD gets through lots of "Cows milk" as she calls it.
Well done on your bathroom! Smile

bessie Glad you all slept better last night.
My two slept well but I didn't. Hmm I'll put that down to worry!

Scout my DD has a till and she loves it although it is up in her bedroom today as she has gone Thomas mad and is playing trains.

Right I'm in. Just moved into newly renovated house and there are boxes everywhere. Need a cuppa then I'm shining that sink.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 17/02/2012 12:37

Hi, and welcome Mary, Hope you don't mind me shortening your nickname.Smile
I'm just having my lunch.
I managed to "shiny my sink" yesterday --for the first time in ages--.

DS has just helped me sort and load some washing into machine. Wink

bessie oooooh

liveinazoo · 17/02/2012 12:54

i have a major problem in the zoo house......

our temperamental toilet is refusing to unblock and as council property i rang repairs
they have by law 24hr to repair an emergency and as only 1 plumber on duty and a number of emergencies today have no idea how quickly they will come.meanwhile i have 3 under 8s unable to eat or drink as we have no fucking bastard toilet facilities

BlackCatTryingToFly · 17/02/2012 13:13

Zoo Sorry to hear about your toilet problem.
Hope they come and sort it out soon.

I'm off to have a go at some washing up [boring job emoticon]

liveinazoo · 17/02/2012 13:30

alexandermary hello

Scout19075 · 17/02/2012 13:36

Oh zoo that's just shit crappy. (Sorry, puns. GAH! I've been living with MrScout for too long!) I hope they come and sort it soon.

Hello!

I think I've worn out my toddler. I don't think I've ever seen him with such a red face and sweaty head/hair. He clearly enjoyed himself. He's tanked up with some cereal (it's what he wanted for lunch) and is now hopefully sleeping (late down).

I'm making my lunch then going to start again.
