Am I the only one not decluttering chocolate? Shock

at all the teeth pulling. The dentist told us last month that DD1(3.4) is still missing 2 top teeth, and DD2(9m) still hasn't got any through yet!

I'm attempting an early night tonight as I'm expecting to be up in the night coughing again Sad

Scout19075 · 15/02/2012 22:09

My teeth were strong little [bleeps] and just refused to loosen up and drop out the way they should. I was in the surgery waiting room with a girl my age having a cosmetic nose job and I remember thinking she was silly. And the drugs were wonderful (I was put under/out) -- I had some wacky dreams in recovery.

I saw that was on tv, carrots, but opted for One Born Every Minute instead. Seeing as I have to live here, too, our house will never get as bad as some I've seen on tv. And OBEM lets me watch new babies.

It seems as if we're going to have an out afternoon tomorrow. Grin

Scout19075 · 15/02/2012 22:10

bessie, TS didn't get his first one until he was 11 months. He's only recently cut his final eye teeth.

carrotsandcelery · 15/02/2012 22:15

I would have chosen OBEM too if I had absolute choice in the matter Scout and had to point out to dh the massive tantrum fuss he would make if I played piano through a programme he was watching as he instantly produced his guitar and started strumming the minute I chose a programme. I didn't even complain until he moaned about the volume of the tv Hmm

I think he thinks that because I am usually happy on t'internet that he has total control over the tv and has a major huff when once or twice a week I select a programme.

Rant over, it is safe to come out again now.

And relax... Blush

bessie26 · 15/02/2012 22:26

carrots most evenings we're both sat on the sofa, me with the laptop & him the TV remote!

carrotsandcelery · 15/02/2012 22:27

I am not alone then. The problem clearly comes with my occasional foray into the world of tv. Order has been restored as he has reclaimed the remote and I am back on the laptop.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 16/02/2012 06:43

Morning folks, Anyone around yet?

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 08:33

Morning everyone. Hi BlackCat! I am showered and dressed and bed made too. Worktops clean and lunches made as wel and main bathroom s&s. Wm on too. Just heading off on the school run. I will be back soon.

bessie26 · 16/02/2012 09:07

hope you get a nap later BlackCat - snoring DHs are a PITA!

Enjoy your socialising scout

DD2 & I are just finishing our breakfast.

I have been boiling some dried beans ready for our lunch, but just noticed the packet says I have to boil UNCOVERED for 10min, then simmer for 30 COVERED. I just boiled for 10mins COVERED (I always leave the lid on when cooking to reduce the steam in the kitchen) - do you think it matters? I'm sure the beans didn't notice(?!) but it seems strange that they have specified it...

liveinazoo · 16/02/2012 09:23

sorry bessie im not much help.i never buy dry beans as worry cooking them properlyConfused

bessie26 · 16/02/2012 09:32

zoo I either start with the bit that is pissing me off the most, or the bit that will make the biggest difference quickly.

-> 15mins -> Go!

bessie26 · 16/02/2012 09:37

zoo did you look at these fly lady pages?

liveinazoo · 16/02/2012 09:38

thanks bessie

liveinazoo · 16/02/2012 09:59

toys thrown back into toyboxs, shelves sorted, tidied drawers and wardrobe

ds room presentable-toys need sorting by type but i will wait til back at school for that

just "found" school uniforms

carrotsandcelery · 16/02/2012 10:01

That is a really helpful page bessie thank you.

I have no idea on the bean front. It is something I would like to learn about as it would be cheaper. I found this which doesn't seem to say anything about lids. If the dd's are having it I would be wary though until you know for sure. It is one thing having crushing wind/tummy ache yourself but another thing dealing with a dd who has it.

Dlamis · 16/02/2012 10:10

Morning.

Friend phoned yesterday to see if we wanted to go out, so off we went and abandoned all flying. Got to make up for it today as my parents are coming to stay for a few days and i need to do a months worth of flying in one morning :o
So far I have swish&swiped the bathroom and toilet, need to sort/tidy/make spare bed up in the bedroom, dust and hoover etc etc, sure I'll think of other things.
Clearly i have along way to go before i'm no longer living in CHAOS.

----> for zoo, and when you've worked out where to start, let me know cos i haven't a clue either :o

Will see how much i can get done and will pop back for the 1 o'clock club

bessie26 · 16/02/2012 10:24

Well done zoo! What's next?

Dlamis - how about some Crisis Cleaning?

carrots that page is good isn't it? I've just been reading the pre-schoolers bit & she says about breaking things down into tiny tasks. e.g. If I ask DD1 to help put away her toys, she will often say no But if I ask her to put her teacups away, she is more likely to do it. I'm guessing it's the same kind of thing with the older ones?

Incase you were wondering how I found those pages, I went to the sitemap (there's a link to it at the bottom of all fly lady pages)

I have posted in food about the dried beans.

liveinazoo · 16/02/2012 11:21

since last posted ive been sifting through all relevant flying with kids posts(preschoolers/school age/teens/bigger families and lone parents)

basic gist is organization and lists/rotas

ive learnt they havent any tidying skills(as i do it allin exasperation)
they are organized on getting ready for school, and kind of at bed time .rest time it CHAOS

as i gaze round front room i have breakfast dishes on floor and a plate from last nights tea.remnants of snack and cup, bits discarded pictures drawn,toys....

theyve retreated to corner by door

time for a plan...........

i feel some charts coming onShock
