oh BC what a crapstart to the day

as predicted ds has lovingly shared his germs and we are all lurgy ridden(was upat 4 with most painful throat ive ever had.cant talk either).why cant he share his toys so wellHmm

so no school here.kids are colouring and im about to eat bowl soaked/soggy cornflakes

to add to the fun and games we have a builder in ds room repairing the last of the damage caused by the subsidance last summer.so got 2 days noise, plaster dust and general chaos to look forward to(at least wont be as bad as when had kitchen done...thats hell on earth) while he cuts out damage cracks around windows and meshes/replasters

will pop in later to see how everyone else is.am adamant some flying will be done

hugs to all pooorly flyers/flybabies

BlackCatTryingToFly · 22/02/2012 09:51

Oh dear Zoo, hope you all get better soon.

DD was fine all night and this morning she ate all her breakfast and was her normal self so I have sent her to nursery. I think she was sick last night cause she got herself into a massive paddy about putting her pyjamas on Shock.
She was alright all day yesterday up till bedtime.

I must go and put the washing machine on and try to make myself do the washing up --instead of sitting here MNetting all day-- Wink

glad DD is ok now BC

I need to go make a Brew, empty the DW & prep up lunch while DD2 naps and resist the urge to watch Chorlton & the Wheelies on YouTube

liveinazoo · 22/02/2012 10:45

glad people sound a bit more lively today.we are about to watch ice age 3 on dvd all snuggled up together under a blanky on the sofaSmile

liveinazoo · 22/02/2012 10:48

p.s have a squash roasting whole in the oven as intending to attempt squash bread as i found a bag rice flour in the cupboardShocktought might be nice with some soup if it works

Dlamis · 22/02/2012 11:12

Blackcat - rant away. Don't worry about the flying. Today's mission for you is to rest and watch as much 'old' childrens telly as possible :o) I may need to persuade dh that we should get the sky childrens package

bessie - good to hear you are feeling a bit better, hope you continue to improve. I wouldn't want dh to drive that far when really ill, or bring his bugs home with him.

carrots - enjoy your pampering

Not much flying going on here. I am slowly working my way through the active convos on mumsnet morning routine. Was about to put washing out but the black clouds aren't very encouraging.

Scout19075 · 22/02/2012 12:33

MN ate my post. Sad

I am worse today. Have managed to strip the beds, go to the laundromat to wash/dry all of the comfy sheets (read: cotton flannelette lovely and soft and warm). I've remade Toddler's bed he's napping now. I've put a case on my pillow, the blanket on the mattress cover and I'm wrapped in my duvet while I have my lunch and lurk on MN. We did go to a Tots group today so TS could have a run around which, I think, was much appreciated by him (he seems fine other than a sneeze before 6 a.m. which he shouted "oh dear!" after he did it). I don't know if he's been up since then or not. I had strange dreams and have been awake since 4.

The only other flying I will do today is washing up the dishes later and calling to make a hair cut appointment for Toddler. I'm going for a nap when I finish my lunch (which I'm struggling with but I must eat so am pushing myself to eat at least half of it).

bessie26 · 22/02/2012 12:59

Ugh, I spoke to soon, the brufen I took first thing have worn off & I feel awful again, much worse than when I woke up! I was going to change the sheets today, but I really CBA, have at least opened the bedroom windows so they get an airing!

I suggested to DH last night that if he feels that bad, he should try to see a Dr up there & then if they did give him some ABs (which he thought he needed) he could get a good nights sleep before driving home. He txt me this morning to say he's feeling a bit better Hmm

I am hoping to do a bit of tidying in the bedroom after lunch while DD2 rolls around on the floor and then hope to sleep while she naps. Freezer food for tea tonight, so at least that is nice & easy!

HiCarrots How's the haircut?

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 22/02/2012 13:26

Sorry to hear so many are still feeling grotty Sad

I prescribed duvet days to all of you. Save the clean sheets until you are better.

I need to do my morning routines Shock and prep the food for the slow cooker.

I feel a bit too preened for housework though. I need some glam rubber gloves and a special pinny to complete my look Grin

BlackCatTryingToFly · 22/02/2012 13:28

Hi BC The haircut was much needed and makes me feel loads better thanks. I can no longer really claim to have long hair as it needed a good chop.

I got my eyelashes tinted too and they are now visible [blonde emoticon]

It is about 16C here just now so I have the windows and back door open to air the house through. It is windy though so I won't be able to do it for long.

carrotsandcelery · 22/02/2012 13:29

Ooooh! I like my gloves - thank you! I had better tackle the dishes then!

liveinazoo · 22/02/2012 13:48

haha carrots couldnt imagine you as kim after the confession of pink hair in the teen yearsGrin

tinted eyelashes sounds a bit like torure treatment though!

cant remember last time i did something as extravagant as a haircut.must put in a spoiling moment before weeks out

carrotsandcelery · 22/02/2012 13:52

I am def not a glam Kim zoo. Grin Dh would be Grin Grin at the idea. I am curvy and feminine but not a bit girly iykwim.

Have you sorted out the dcs yet zoo? Can you get them doing star jumps and a mini workout. You can be boot camp instructor (ie sit of sofa with a Brew) barking orders.

Right, off to make tofu... I am... I really, really am... Hmm
