I'm still feeling ok, although I think I will be v tired later. Just having a Brew (full fat) and some biscuits with DD1 while DD2 naps & DH has taken my car out to pump the tyres up (supposed to get v cold here later this week)

We're off to Mothercare when DD2 wakes to get their feet measured, then lunch (chilli, defrosting atm) then i'll sleep try to do something useful while the DDs nap this arvo - not sure what yet!

bessie26 · 29/01/2012 10:52

neenok I forgot to say well done on the putting away, I'm rubbish at that bit, I try to do it as one of my 2min hot spots (but usually forget). I did put ALL the clean laundry away last night while DH & the GPs did bath time with the DDs Grin

BlackCatTryingToFly · 29/01/2012 10:52

carrots What is berrocca? I'm guessing it's some kind of cold remedy.

bessie26 · 29/01/2012 11:00

and Yay for miniCarrots!

black berroca is a vit pill with high levels of the vitamins in, I've never taken them, but my SIL says they are great.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 29/01/2012 11:12

Ah Thanks bessie. I'm not too keen on pills so I will try to to have other things like Ovaltine (has lots of nutrients in) and orange juice.
Thanks for the suggestion though carrotsSmile

carrotsandcelery · 29/01/2012 11:15

Loads of my friends swore by Berrocca for years and I had never tried it until recently but it does seem to perk you up and fight off the bugs if you feel a bit flat.

Dd and I have cleaned out the guinea pigs - thank goodness as they were getting a bit fragrant. They are all sooooo fat Grin They always get a bit pampered in the kitchen through the winter.

Next job is yesterday's ironing and folding etc. It was a coloured wash so there are a lot of my tops waiting to be ironed which is putting me off. No one else will come and do it for me so I might as well just get on with it.

I will then PUT IT AWAY having been set a good example Grin

In other exciting news I have finally cleaned the foot stool and coffee table which I decluttered yesterday, although from my new angle I can see a splodge on the foot stool I missed

I will reward myself for the ironing with a hot chocolate from dh's Tassimo machine Grin

I see your point about the pills BlackCat. These things are definitely not for everyone. You can also get Berrocca which you can dissolve into drinks but I am no good with that sort of thing.

Getting your vitamins from natural sources has to be better though. Sometimes I just need a little back up Grin

carrotsandcelery · 29/01/2012 12:06

Ironing done - Woo hoo! I am ridiculously pleased about this. It was too damp to put away so I have hung it on one end of the pulley to air for a while and then I WILL put it away.

I am now sitting with a Suchard hot chocolate watching ds with his Fossil Excavation Kit, making an almighty mess, wondering if I upset the friend who gave it to him in some way I hadn't realised Grin

Today's Pampering: A Toddler-free shower. I know how to live, don't I? Wink

MrScout's just taken TS out to the coffee shop for a "trink" so I can enjoy 1/2 hour peace and a shower as warm as I like it with double hair washing. Bliss.

Have done some decluttering/flinging in the living room this morning while MrScout was still in bed (he's a night owl and we don't really see him in the morning on weekends). Think I may be able to fill a donation bag again today (picked some up at the charity shop yesterday so things will just go straight into there and then into the car each evening before MrScout gets home). I love flinging. Blush

cairnterrier · 29/01/2012 12:25

Hurray for everyone and their busy mornings.

High fives for minicarrots and his sleeping epic.

Now, question of the day so far, is 3 triangles of toblerone adequate as a starter for lunch? Haggis, neeps and tatties and rhubarb crumble and custard to follow...... Hmm

Eggrules · 29/01/2012 12:30

Just wanted to pop in and say high. I haven't been about cos I am really busy with work; next week is going to be crazy too, bed at midnight most nights.

I will try to pop in and catch up. Need to re-start baby steps.

Next week I am going to sort out the toyroom/conservatory.

Great to hear how you are getting on.

carrotsandcelery · 29/01/2012 12:52

Hi Egg good to hear you are ok. I suspect we will rerun the babysteps next month again and add what we feel ready to add so you will still be in the loop.

cairn better have one more just to be sure.

Scout enjoy the breather - these moments are precious.

Thanks everyone for the support with ds. It is a small step towards goal but he is SO proud of himself and as we all know - babysteps are key Grin

I need to clear up the fossil debris now. He had great fun with it though so I don't really mind. It is only a sweep and a brief hoover.

Any ideas what to make for lunch? I am totally uninspired.

carrotsandcelery · 29/01/2012 13:13

Good grief! I just found what the dcs did to the bathroom cleaning the fossil. It is all cleaned now but...

Neenook · 29/01/2012 14:26

Carrots we've got fat piggies in the kitchen too! Love it when they come in for the winter, they get really bold and shout for veggies every time they hear the fridge door open! You've reminded me to add cleaning them to my list - supposed to be DS1's job but as he's a bit under the weather...

Friends coming for a roast tonight so should really get on with that soon - chicken and trimmings and apple crumble for pud - yummy.

Neenook · 29/01/2012 14:27

Carrots We just had bacon butties for lunch - Sunday treat Grin

carrotsandcelery · 29/01/2012 14:50

Ours squeak like crazy if they hear a plastic bag rustle or if I walk over near the cage.

The dcs had french toast for lunch and I had the leftover curry as there wasn't enough for a meal.

I have been checking everyone's hair for scary beasties. Happily none have been found. Phew!

Now to figure out what to make for tea.

liveinazoo · 29/01/2012 16:13

evening all!
you lot bin busy this weekend
ive done chuff all and the place is descending back into chaos wile ive been doing the florence nightingale thing as all little zooz are snotridden and feverish.ds cant hear out left ear today so have watch that as has led to a burst ear drum on 2 previous occasionsSad
i lost my voice friday..thank goodness its back!
im have to unearth at least part of a kitchen surface as ive promised to make ds some banana and oat muffins
talking of which carrots-a friend popped round today with a long face and some she made following the recipe.they tasted like burnt oatsShocki have no idea how as they werent burnt to look at and where lovely and moist...she used demerara sugar, would that be the cause?
i will pop in a bit later so sharpen up the pointy sticks as i am guna need them!Wink
waves to blackcat and hopes wil be around to buddy with me tomorrow as i take shovel and skip to the place!!!!!Grin

carrotsandcelery · 29/01/2012 16:37

Oh no zoo! I have no idea why the muffins would taste funny. Demerara sugar may be the cause - it can be quite strong compared to other sugars.

I have finally got washed but have just put on clean pjs Grin

Dh requested burgers and oven chips for tea and who am I to stand in his way? Grin Grin

Dd is pretending to be a teenager now it seems and exploding into fury if you so much as look at her slightly the wrong way. Shock

Ds is struggling to stay awake so I am a bit suspicious about what time he got up this morning. He says 6.11am. This is one of the reasons his sleep ended up in such a sorry mess as the only way we knew he was up at 2am was if he woke us up getting out of bed.

On the fly front I have cleaned the worktops and that is about all. It is Sunday after all Grin

Scout19075 · 29/01/2012 18:05

Snap, carrots, that's what we're having for dinner too.

carrotsandcelery · 29/01/2012 18:34

I am unreasonably disappointed about tonight's tea. I was looking forward to soft rolls, iceberg lettuce, cucumber, mayo, burger, ketchup, some chunky oven chips and some beans.

It seems dh, who requested the meal, ate all but one of the soft rolls and all the ketchup when he made himself his lunch.

Then knowing he had done this, when he went to the shop, it didn't occur to him to replace it, ready for the meal he had asked for.

Gah!

He chose rubbish oven chips too.

bessie26 · 29/01/2012 18:59

Hi, we had macaroni peas for tea need to update the recipe later to include veggie parmasan! Grin

Tonight I need to meal plan and check our diaries for the next week or two. And declutter a bottle of wine [hic]

bessie26 · 29/01/2012 19:01

AND, I have put ALL the clean laundry away - again!!!

carrotsandcelery · 29/01/2012 19:05

Hurrah on the clean laundry bessie. Shock

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 29/01/2012 19:38

I'm still hungry.

Contemplating what else I could eat.

Should really do the dishes instead of eating, though.

carrotsandcelery · 29/01/2012 19:43

I am eating far too much at the moment. I think it is a combination of stress and extreme boredom. Strange how you can feel both at the same time.

bessie are the miso soup sachets quite low in calories? Where in the supermarket do you find them?

I have only had 2 cups of tea today and don't have a headache for once but not having that has made me eat all sorts that I didn't need to. I need to declutter my diet!!!

Scout dh bought me rolos when he was at the shop. Maybe some of them while you do the dishes?
