black I just remembered that I should be taking my Vit pill every evening, so I will have to take it when you have your iron pills!

carrotsandcelery · 11/02/2012 20:33

Well ds has just screamed for 45mins in his bed. He has been overexcited ever since he came home from his friend's house. We don't know if it was something he ate there, just the fact he was out at a friend's house, having dd's friend here, being over tired or a combination of all those things.

What a nightmare!

He is quiet for now and dd and her friend have made a den in the lounge to cuddle up, eat popcorn and watch a dvd. They looked pretty tired so may crash out before the films are finished. (FX)

I thought it was supposed to get easier. It doesn't feel like it today Shock

Luckily pizza doesn't make a lot of dishes Grin

bessie the no caffeine is not going well (see comment above). I suspect I have chosen the worst possible time to do this. I had one cup of tea this morning and immediately had a dreadful headache so I haven't had one since.

Dh has just presented me with a bag of chocolate raisins

I may eat the lot before the night is through Grin

Cheers, carrots. I was almost caffeine free when I was pregnant (went right off the taste when I found out I was pregnant but still had a coke/pepsi every few days because I just really wanted one. I had to give it up completely after TS was born because it made him jittery/didn't help his silent reflux. I keep thinking I should go caffeine free but some days I feel like it's the only thing that's holding me together. Blush

carrotsandcelery · 11/02/2012 21:44

Hi Scout I was caffeine free for at least 8 years, probably much more, apart from a diet coke in a restaurant very occasionally or mixed in an alcoholic drink.

My problems started when dsil visited and only drank diet coke. We had to get loads of the stuff and when she left we had some left and I drank it. There began my addiction - it was soooo quick.

I dropped the diet coke for tea but the tea makes me feel dreadful. Not having the tea is making me crave some Pepsi. Help!!!

Scout19075 · 11/02/2012 21:50

I found it much easier to go caffeine free in the States (had done it several times there) since they have caffeine free versions of both Coke and Pepsi. Same taste, no caffeine. Win win.

I've been thinking of getting some "Team GB" stuff for family/friends at home. GrinBlush

I do love online window shopping.

bessie26 · 11/02/2012 21:57

Hope DS is sound asleep now carrots? Fx he/you have a good nights sleep.

When I gave up caffeine I cut down VERY gradually & even then felt crap for a couple of weeks when I actually stopped. But then I was fine! I realised that I only needed each coffee to help me cope with the "come down" from the previous cup (same as when I later gave up fags). I now have a "full fat" tea first thing in the morning, but decaff tea the rest of the day. I can no longer stomach instant coffee, but do very occasionally have a "proper" latte I know now though not to give in to the monster within (anyone else read Allen Carr?) and not have a second cup!

Sorry, that wasn't supposed to be a rant. Too much Wine perhaps? Grin

carrotsandcelery · 11/02/2012 22:04

I wondered about doing it gradually bessie but I am often better just getting it over and done with. Please excuse me being a touch testy for a day or two and then I will be fine Grin

I am the same with chocolate. I can have none but I can't have a wee bit. Blush

I think I have an addictive personality. [proud]

Ds has thankfully stopped screaming. There are still a few thumps and bangs from the lounge but I don't think 10pm is too late for 2 10yo on a sleepover so I will leave them to it.

I am finding the Olympic stuff hard to relate to up here. We are so far away from it all it doesn't feel it has much to do with us.

We will love watching it when it is on the tv, as we always do. Dd is already looking forward to the gymnastics. It just feels like it might as well be in Australia. [teuchter emoticon]

I fancy some RL chocolate -- I wonder if I have any stashed here.

carrotsandcelery · 11/02/2012 23:13

Did you find any Scout? I have just eaten about 400 calories worth of the stuff and now I feel sick Envy Bleurgh! Serves me right really. Grin I suspect I would have been better off with the cups of tea!!

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 12/02/2012 07:49

I gave up in the end and went to bed.

One of my IL's cats have brought them a present. Blurgh. I've asked MrScout how to handle it and he gave me very vague instructions and rather than sort it out when I said "I need to keep Toddler away from it and the door while I go to the garage" he rolled over and went back to sleep. Angry He doesn't do mornings but still.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 12/02/2012 08:12

Morning all, I am here lurking.
I still need to get breakfast. Last night I got into watching Bridget Jones, the edge of reason and it didn't finish till 12.30am Shock. I will probably need to grab a nap today as I was up again at 7.00am.

DD still has a cough so if it doesn't improve we may need to get it checked. I wouldn't normally worry about coughs but this sounds quite bad.

carrotsandcelery · 12/02/2012 09:14

Morning everyone!

Scout that sounds a rather alarming way to start a Sunday morning. Mr Scout will have to "pay" for his behaviour - maybe with a bag of rubbish precious stuff. Wink

BlackCat poor BlackKitten. I would rather go to the doc and be told they can't do anything than not go and then find out it was something they could have helped with.

Dd and friend seem to have fallen asleep eventually. They were quiet all night anyway Grin

We are off to the cinema this afternoon (Just me and the girls) as dd is going to another friends to sleep over tomorrow so will miss the trip with Granny and Grandad tomorrow.

I need to clean up the kitchen first though. We seem to have trashed it in a very short period of time. Hopefully it is mostly dw loading.

I'm not sure of the reasons for your thread title BUT just now I read it as "pointy sticks at the elderly" and I thought flippin eck! Grin lol

carrotsandcelery · 12/02/2012 09:27

cjbk1 it's ok, we only use pointy sticks to get each other off the sofa and on with the housework. Although I am getting on a bit I don't think I class as elderly... yet! Grin

BlackCatTryingToFly · 12/02/2012 09:38

Right I have had breakfast, am just having another Brew then will be off for a shower. Does that count as "renew your spirit, Sunday"?

BlackCatTryingToFly · 12/02/2012 09:42

Just for anyone who's unsure of the thread:

We are trying to do babystep as in FlyLady.

carrotsandcelery · 12/02/2012 09:47

Oooh BlackCat I only have a few more months left. Do I get chucked off the thread or poked more as an "elderly" after my birthday? (or will someone come round and clean for me because I am over the hill?) Grin

OP posts:
BlackCatTryingToFly · 12/02/2012 09:56

Grin Carrots I'm only joking! I'm almost 2 years away from 40. (my birthday is less than 2 weeks away)Wink.

This is what we are trying to do:
babysteps
(For any new people who would like to join)Smile

bessie26 · 12/02/2012 10:03

I will be old in November!

BlackCatTryingToFly · 12/02/2012 10:04

Sorry everyone!

The regulars know I sometimes put my foot in it! Blush

carrotsandcelery · 12/02/2012 11:01

Ha ha! It's ok BlackCat. We know you are only having a laugh.

I am aiming for the shiny medal today.

Ta Das:

Washed and dressed (and even mascara on Shock)
Folded a load of washing and PUT AWAY
Hung and load of washing
Put on another load of washing - I seem to have loads all of a sudden
Loaded dw and put on
Washed down table
Hoovered hall, vestibule, mbedroom, kitchen, dining, family room...

Dh is out running with pup and the girls are walking Twilight.

Ds has finally got dressed so is allowed on the wii.

Of course I will spoil it all by going out to the cinema as I will probably come back to chaos again but if feels better just now.
