Oh dear BlackCat. I have been really lucky so far as dd has either had a friend in our been invited out somewhere. Otherwise mine are similar. I found turning off the tv and trying to do something all together helped a bit. Even getting out a walk breaks the cycle for a while and makes you all feel better.

Ds has been invited round to a friend's for the late afternoon today

I am really pleased but did have a chat with him about things like if they suggest playing on the wii etc. He is becoming more self aware but will struggle without me there to lay down the law and say they can't. He will have to learn but hopefully he is not going to continue to do it the hard way.

I am glad I will be busy the whole time he is out.

Unfortunately the lamb place was closed because their pipes have frozen so they have no running water - no hand washing facilities means they are not allowed to be open to the public - I bet they are gutted, they open especially for the lambing thing every spring half term, so hope they manage to thaw out today!

DH has taken my car to a tyre place as it looks like I have a slow puncture & I am waiting for a man to come round & look at our loo, it has a very slight leak (I first noticed because I kept having to clean water marks off the lino) - it's so nice that I don't need to do any cleaning before he comes round! (thankfully, he won't need to go in the dining room!)

Harmony is temporarily restored for now. This afternoon we decided to get the paints out (brave I know!) and all went well until DD started painting her arm blue . We decided that was a good time to quit and so she has had an early bath today.

bessie it is one of the wee boys who was round last week. They haven't phoned to have him removed so hopefully he has been ok. Dh has just gone up to collect him.

Twilight has been groomed some more and is walking quite differently so must be more comfortable. Yay! She still needs a lot done but can only cope for short stretches at time.

I have collected dd and invited her friend to stay with us tonight which everyone seemed delighted about. I have done a speed clean of the kitchen while they are playing outside so it doesn't look too grim for them and cleared 2/3 of the table so they can eat there, draw and paint etc.

BlackCat the painting sounds lovely. I hope you did some too. at the blue arm. Has she been watching the Smurfs?

The girls chose pizza, garlic bread, chocolate eclairs and Phish Food ice cream for tea - who am I to stand in their way ( I just hope no one is sick!)

Shame about the wee lambs bessie but they do have to be really careful with hygiene around lambs so they are being wise not to risk it.

Dh just got turned away at ds's friend's house. The boys are playing really well and they want ds a little longer. Woo hoo! You have no idea what a breakthrough this is. Yipee Keep those fx everyone as it is clearly helping

Phish Food ice cream is ridiculously expensive Ben and Jerrys ice cream with chocolate fish in it. I think the fish maybe have caramel in them or there is caramel sauce in the ice cream as well. It is decadent and yummy anyway

BlackCat I was told that dcs are so good at drawing because they don't invest too much in the picture. If it doesn't work out they just do another. It is a bit trickier as adults to just go for it and not worry about the end result. You might need to do a lot of silly doodling and mucking about to "loosen" up. Great fun anyway If mine doesn't go the way I want it to I ask the dcs if I want to finish it and let them loose on it and that is my "excuse" for it being rubbish

Hi Trinity. I am not sure what we are. We are a flythread who are supposed to be doing babysteps but are just sort of doing what we can get done. You are welcome to join in with us We tend to start the babysteps over at the beginning of each month and throw in missions if we feel up to it.

Carrots I used to be quite a "perfectionist" when I tried painting/drawing but I think I am learning that things don't always go how you want them to go so I am trying to not stress too much and try to enjoy it instead. I think the talk I had with the doctor has done some good.

We try to do the babystep the same as the date so today would be babystep 11. Although I am personally not doing very well at the moment as I have a few health problems I need to deal with. Some days are better than others.

is a fab idea. I woefully underestimated how much pizza 3 dcs and 2 adults could eat. Gone are the days of the dcs just having a slice and us getting the rest. I had to drive up to the shop and buy 2 more and they have been demolished as well

Toddler is up late (he never seems to get to bed at Nana & Grandpa's) and MrScout is reading one of his new (original) Thomas the Tank books from the set he was given for Christmas. First go at a book that's longer than a traditional picture book but from the sounds on the monitor it's going well. When MrScout's around I'm almost always relieved of bedtime duties.

We're going to watch Spooks when he's done.

scout I'm making Tuscan Bean Soup - I've not made it in the slow cooker before, so I've just lobbed it all in cold & raw (with a bit less stock than normal) and set the timer plug to come on at 6am. If the beans get too overcooked & squishy I'll just have to blend it!

black hope you have remembered your iron pill & carrots how is the no caffeine thing going?

Living room & Kitchen are clean. (I am ridiculously pleased with myself for keeping the work surfaces & hob clean for so long!) so I have run a bath & poured a very large to celebrate! I might try the big hair thing out later with some product in my hair, or I might grace DH with my presence on the sofa, I will decide later!
