I'll swap you the FR for your Really Useful drawers :o

Scout19075 · 10/02/2012 22:01

I've never had ginger beer.

And did you know that FR make really good meatballs?

carrotsandcelery · 10/02/2012 22:14

Hmm No chance Dlamis Grin especially if they are making meatballs as I am a vegetarian so object on moral grounds Grin

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 10/02/2012 22:21

I think you could eat these "meatballs" carrots. My Seniors thought they were brilliant.

carrotsandcelery · 10/02/2012 22:27

I am so confused. What are these "meatballs" you speak of Scout?

OP posts:
bessie26 · 10/02/2012 22:34

????

Scout19075 · 10/02/2012 22:41

Hehehehe.

So last year I made some cupcakes. I decorated the cakes in a white frosting with just a tint of yellow and used a nosle to squiggle the icing over. I then unwrapped the FR's, rolled them in strawberry jam and put them on top of the cupcakes. Then I spread a bit more jam over the cupcakes.

Can anyone guess what I made?

carrotsandcelery · 10/02/2012 22:49

My mind is saying spaghetti and meatballs but I am still in shock over the oil bill and the enormous hallway so I may be hallucinating as this thread has become really surreal Confused

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 10/02/2012 22:51

Well done, carrots! That's right. I made a platter of spaghetti & meatballs out of cupcakes, FR, jam and icing. It was really fun to make and the girls loved it.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 11/02/2012 07:54

Zoo Hope you are o.k. {{{Sending hugs}}}.
Have sent you a PM.x

I think I am doing minimal Flying too for now although I will still try to be around for chat etc.
I had a crap nights sleep last night. DD still has a bad cough Sad. Hope she gets better soon.

bessie26 · 11/02/2012 08:14

Hope you are ok zoo and that blackKitten feels better soon too Thankfully, I seem to be the only one suffering with snot this morning & think I must have drunk an optimal amount of wine, so I slept well without dehydrating myself.

It's the weekend, so minimal flying here too. Although as the golf course is still closed I might try to persuade DH to do something useful!!

Dlamis · 11/02/2012 08:36

{{big hugs for zoo}} Wish I could say something to help you feel better but I know it's not that simple. Brew

Poor blackkitten, hope she feels better soon and you can get a good nights sleep

Minimal flying here today too. The ds's have yet another party today, it's costing a fortune in pressies and we still haven't sorted our bedroom out yet. I feel an urge to buy more storage coming on. carrots those RU 10 drawer sets are the ones I drool over most. I have mentally filled 5 drawers so far, just need to think of stuff for the other 5 and i can justify buying one. We already have a 5 drawer one with the ds's toys in.

carrotsandcelery · 11/02/2012 09:33

Morning everyone!

zoo I am sending (((hugs))) as Dlamis says we know it needs more but know we are right behind you. We all deserve some time out and some rest and recuperation. I hope you feel better soon.

BlackCat poor you and poor BlackKitten. Is she old enough for medised? It dries up the cough and helps them sleep at night but I think they have changed the age restrictions on it as people were abusing it and using it to get their dcs to sleep every night. It used to be aged 2 was the limit. Poor wee soul.

bessie sympathies. Time for you to have a rest and dh to take the reins. I am dreading the golf season and have warned dh that the dcs need him around - especially ds just now - so he can't play golf and run for 20 odd miles all of every weekend. He accepted it at the time but we will see if it is remembered when the golf course opens again.

Ds slept all night last night - well, he woke up but stayed in bed because he knew he would get an hours golden time with daddy if he did. This the the psychologist's new system and time with daddy is clearly worth working for. (I play with him anyway so am clearly not as big a draw).

On the flying front I am just planning the basics for the next couple of days, possibly with some extra washing as dd and I had to strip off in the vestibule last night as we got so muddy at the stables. Shock

I hope everyone takes good care of themselves today. I will be popping in for chat if anyone is around.

Carrots I am lurking on and off today (mostly this morning). DH and DS go out on Saturday mornings and DD is watching Peppa pig etc.

carrotsandcelery · 11/02/2012 10:23

Ds is playing Skylanders (dh is offering suggestions from the sofa) and dd is still at her sleepover.

She has been invited to stay a second night but I want to pop in and make sure she is not overtired or similar. I need to take her clean clothes for tomorrow anyway if she stays. I don't know the Mum really well and neither does dd so I just want to make sure she feels happy there. I am not sure if I should invite them to spend the second night here although I can see a big old country house is far more fun to explore than a pokey modern house.

Ds has an activity later today and Twilight has the groomers for her Brazillian Shock She is trying to groom herself already so it has obviously helped already. Poor old girl.

OP posts:
BlackCatTryingToFly · 11/02/2012 10:40

That sounds exciting for your DD, staying at a big house although a little worrying for you when you don't really know the people that well.

My DS has got Skylanders too. He bought it with some Christmas money. Every time the advert comes on the telly he says he would like some more.Hmm

carrotsandcelery · 11/02/2012 10:58

Ds got 3 characters for his birthday and 3 for his Christmas and seems happy with that for now but it won't be long before he is asking for more. He has a guide book too and spent ages with a friend the other week going through and looking for all the characters they would like. You could spend a small fortune Shock

Ds still has birthday amazon vouchers and I am finding them really handy. Every time he asks for something I tell him he could get them with his amazon vouchers. He has yet to spend them but stops asking me for the thing he wanted. Grin

I have hung a load of washing, put the muddy stuff in the wm, hooverd the dry mud from the utility, hallway, vestibule, etc and I have got the ironing board out and the iron heating. There is not too much in the pile so I think I will do that and then have my shower. I am still in my pjs Blush

OP posts:
bessie26 · 11/02/2012 11:20

We are (hopefully) on our way to see some newborn lambs! Grin

carrotsandcelery · 11/02/2012 11:39

Oh lovely bessie - I hope you do get to see them. Grin

I have done the ironing and I am having a wee rest before I shower (mainly because the boys are playing drums at the other end of the house and it may not be a very restful experience if I go now Shock

Hi Scout! Are you at your inlaws? How is it going? I hope you are cosy wherever you are.

I am finally washed and dressed - ta da! I have even straightened my hair and would have put some mascara on if the boys hadn't appeared and started doing weights in the bedroom while I was getting dressed.

Ds is funny. He is the skinniest, scrawniest little boy lifting the tiniest little weights from the ends of dh's hand weights but he thinks he is an Olympic weight lifter with them. Very, very cute!

I'm looking forward to a week of being mentally challenged not.Hmm
It's half term week, and world war three has already started between the DC.
A bit like this:

DD: He pushed me,
DS: No, she started it!
DD: no it was him!
Me: ARrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhh!

Why can't they just get on nicely!

Then it was:
DD: I want tellytubbies on
I turn it over to put tellytubbies on
DD: Nooooooo, I want Mickey mouse,
Cue floods of tears.Sad

DD is also going through a hitting phase,so not great!

I hope I can keep some sanity!!!
