Scout (((hug))) Brew

Scout19075 · 27/01/2012 14:06

Thanks, Neenook.

Turns out plumber can be here between 3 & 4. ACK! I've sort of cleared the hall and closed the doors upstairs. Blush Need to do a vacuum but Toddler's napping and has only been down half an hour so it would cause him to wake screaming. ACK!

Dlamis · 27/01/2012 14:22

Come on, you can do it, then once you get going.......................

wow carrots you are superflying today.

scout stop worrying about any mess. The boiler man won't care and he'll have seen much worse (like when the man came to fix our cistern and I forget to check the toilet had been flushed before he arrived and one of the ds's had left a nice stinky present behind and not flushed it away)

Only done a 2minute hotspot since i was last on, keep getting distracted by Brew and Biscuits

carrotsandcelery · 27/01/2012 14:26

The plumber won't bat an eyelid Scout. Ours once had to check every radiator and I was blush and he thought it was funny. He told me that I wouldn't be embarrassed if I saw some of the homes he had been round.

I hope he can fix it tonight and you can have a cosy weekend.

Dh is home and has swept the kitchen floor. He is now playing guitar (save me!!!!!)

Yes.... but, but..... While we're not dirty (though the place really could do with a dust and a vacuum) there really is just stuff everywhere. I live with a hoarder. It's just ridiculous. I see a dent but most people, I think, would be mortified.

Scout19075 · 27/01/2012 14:32

Hell, I'M mortified and I live here.

carrotsandcelery · 27/01/2012 14:34

Scout you are talking to the woman who couldn't actually get into her study and had resorted to actually physically climbing over stuff and standing on things to reach the other end of the room. He saw that. He said it was nothing compared to what he had seen. Your plumber won't bat an eyelid. I know how you feel though. Grin Just make him a cup of tea and he will be quite happy.

Scout19075 · 27/01/2012 14:41

I have to admit, this thread and my need/want to have my washer fixed and friends over for coffee while I'm undergoing treatment have really kept me on track flying wise.

I thank you.

I do see a difference already and I have a plan of attack. I'm not really following the zones (I want to, really I do, but I'm working on the downstairs first and then moving upstairs) so I can have people in to fix things/have coffee. Toddler's loving having more space for toys.

Bless him. This morning before we left I changed his nappy and said something along the lines of "let's go downstairs and get your coat so we can leave." But before he let me put his coat on and he went & put all of his trains back in their box (he had taken them out before his change). YAY! Long may helping clear up his toys continue.

Just popping in to say Hi.
Not an awful lot of housework done here today but have been out half the morning then DM came to visit.Smile

carrotsandcelery · 27/01/2012 14:48

Hi BlackCat and zoo. I actually think the two of you have been in the pub together to celebrate yesterday's cleaning successes.

Scout doing the public rooms first makes sense, especially if you know you are going to benefit from inviting people over when you don't feel so great. I am always relieved when I go to someone's house and it is not that painfully clean and tidy though. When their house is perfect I don't know where to put myself and uncomfortable about asking them to mine Grin

I have ground to a halt - as usual when there is someone else in the house.

I don't want a showhome, carrots, just somewhere where friends can come for an hour and have a drink and a laugh.

carrotsandcelery · 27/01/2012 14:59

That sounds lovely Scout. I was just worried about you putting unnecessary pressure on yourself. Smile

Na. I'm realistic. I want a loved in/lived in home, not a showhome. I want the house where TS's friends like to come because they can play without being told off about mess, where they can bake & cook with flour puffs about, etc. That's the type of house I grew up in.

bessie26 · 27/01/2012 15:27

I think that's what we all want scout! - Well done for giving the baby things away ((hugs)) I expect I will be doing that next year, but for now they are all being bagged & put in the loft

I've had a busy morning with the DDs. Once DD2 had gone for her morning nap, I suggested to DD2 that she needed to wash up her tea set, so she happily splashed around in the sink for almost an hour, while I cleaned & tidied the kitchen Grin

They both put away SO much food at lunchtime, I seriously doubt the toddler will eat anything for tea, but I'm sure the baby will manage to put some more away. We also had some of the VEGETARIAN (pretend) parmasan DH got us the other day - mmmmmm yummy!

Glad everyone is making progress (sorry, I can't remember who has done what now!) and HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to miniCarrots for staying in his bed! Grin

DD2 will be awake in a few mins, so I'd better get on with something - might do a hotspot on my dressing table
