Scout19075 · 30/01/2012 12:59

I'll join in! (Got way-laid checking on TS, giving a drink, finding the paci he tossed overboard, cuddling, etc)

BlackCatTryingToFly · 30/01/2012 13:00

So shall we start at 1.15 and work till 2.00 ?

How does that sound ??

Scout19075 · 30/01/2012 13:02

Sounds like a plan to me! Grin

(That give me time to finish my KitKat. Blush)

BlackCatTryingToFly · 30/01/2012 13:14

Right will "see" you all back here at 2.00 ish.

carrotsandcelery · 30/01/2012 13:17

I have just made courgette & cocoa muffins with cranberries instead of the raisins as I ran out.

I have had tea again and have a headache again so the tea is definitely out.

I will join in shortly and meet again at 2 but having a slice of toast just now.

D'oh! Made a mistake of looking in at TS on my 45 minute frenzey and he was laying there grinning at me. Don't know if he actually slept or not (and if he did it was less than an hour's worth). He seems a bit bouncey so we'll go over to Beans for a little bit.

I did manage to:
put dinner in the slow cooker
wash up breakfast, lunch and dinner-making dishes
scrub counter before setting up slow cooker
scrub sink
sterlizer a couple of rogue pacies (he only has them to sleep but given his cold I think it's time for a fresh one in his bed)
put recycling into car for tip
scrubbed pan I didn't do a good job of last night Blush

Off to get Toddler up (I left him with books to finish up one or two bits) and get to Beans. Hope everyone else had a productive 45 minutes!

Hi all,
I tried to sort some paperwork but couldn't do it. I just felt a sense of panic coming over me. Maybe I'm just not well enough to deal with paperwork today.

I have done:
(before the paperwork attempt)
wash up x 1
loaded the washing machine.

carrots I just wondered what you think about the idea of joining "The fledgling Flyers" on their new thread? I know they are going to start a new thread.

Or do you like having a smaller thread just for us all?
Also I'm not sure how they would feel if we did join them.

Please let me know your thoughts. Smile

How has everyone got on?

liveinazoo · 30/01/2012 14:19

hi black.i cant tackle paperork right now either so you arent aloneSmile
i personally like having our own little thread and venturig onto others if fancy it...
little zoo bin "helping"..weve
polished front room
wiped all cipborad fronts
cooker front
washing machine front
plugpoints and light switches in kitchen

liveinazoo · 30/01/2012 14:21

apology for crappy spelling little zoo "helping" typeHmm
snack time for her
i will have banana for medicinal purposes rather than the chocolate biscuits shouting from the cupboard at me to eat them

BlackCatTryingToFly · 30/01/2012 14:24

Maybe that was a silly idea of mine but just though I'd put it "out there" to see what you thought.

Everyone is doing well today although I can feel myself slowing down a bit now.

carrotsandcelery · 30/01/2012 14:26

Hello everyone. I got engrossed and missed the 2pm deadline. I have dusted the kitchen windowsill which was officially gross. It is deep enough to sit on and goes round the whole room so it takes a while and it really low (coffee table height) so a bit of a back breaker.

I also did today's mission in our kitchen/family room to hoover into the skirting boards which also takes a while in here. It sorely needed done though tbh.

That led me to hoovering nearly all of downstairs while I was at it and tidying up the mats and wellies at the back door.

I am really pleased with what I have achieved.

I have the back door open, even though it has been snowing, as my headache won't shift. I am drinking water until after tea when I will move to camomile (sp?)

Now I need to check if load no 2 is finished in the wm and hang it.

I like our little thread BlackCat as it keeps a personal touch. I know the others will be lovely but I feel like we are getting to know each other a bit here and I like that side of it.

I am happy to go with what everyone else feels though.

you are doing fine blackcat
youve got some stuff done today so you mustnt be so hard on yourself
i know when i attempt to tackle something and it gets the better of me i can get very disheartened but i need to remind myself that by at least contemplating it is progress and doing something else instead is not failure but acceptance im not ready for that but can do something else positive instead

liveinazoo · 30/01/2012 14:32

wow carrots youre on fire today!!!!!
its amazing how cleaning paintwork makes a room kind of sparkle and when the floors are clear too it amazes me the difference Smile
have you made the choc and courgette muffins before and are they nice?

carrotsandcelery · 30/01/2012 14:32

Ooops! BlackCat cross posts.

Paperwork is the work of the devil and needs a clear head and a whole heap of enthusiasm to tackle it. I would have abandoned it too. You have done loads today BlackCat so give yourself a pat on the back.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 30/01/2012 14:35

zoo I don't like chocolate cake or chocolate muffins so I can't tell if they are nice or not. I know they come out really moist though as I tasted a bit of one. The cocoa tastes strong to me but as I said I am not the best judge. I will let you know what the dcs think as they are my harshest critics Grin

I still have to tackle the toys on the foot stool and the kitchen table. I feel depressed just looking at it. I am tempted to make it a joint job once I have picked the dcs up. [sneaky emoticon]

OP posts:
liveinazoo · 30/01/2012 14:39

maybe a bribe-help and you get a muffin?Grin
little zoo has really enjoyed helping today
they are all enjoying the benefits of being able to find and access toys and knowing where pairs clean socks are!!!
promised a story before pick up.will be back 4ish

BlackCatTryingToFly · 30/01/2012 14:40

zoo I have just really made myself a hot chocolate drink Shock before I read your post up there.

carrots it is nice having a few "posters" (people) who we get to know so I do like this thread. I might be on both, I'm not sure Confused.
I have been reading all the Flying threads --if and when I get time--

carrotsandcelery · 30/01/2012 14:46

zoo there is a fly lady section for the dcs if you think yours would enjoy it here

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 30/01/2012 16:10

Well the dcs like the muffins, even though they did realise they had courgette in them. The cranberries seem to be a big hit in them too. They have had 2 each.

I hope the shepherd's pie meets with the same enthusiasm.

I still need to hang the washing, tidy the table and tidy the footstool.

Ds is actually crying at the prospect of it all. I feel the same tbh. I need a magic wand.

I think my headache is actually a cold as I have a lot of sinus pain and keep sneezing. I have taken some Berrocca but may have to resort to some Sudafed to see me through to bedtime. [wuss]

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 30/01/2012 16:31

Personally I like the smaller thread the other ones overwhelm me and make me feel useless--.

carrots and black -- I'm in awe of today's accomplishments!

I don't think TS slept when he went up for his nap given the meltdown he just had and keeps coming up and down from. I've got some pasta on the go for him (a favorite) and will then just spend the witching hour/s having cuddles and watching cartoons with an early bed on the horizon.

I'm actually really looking forward to going grocery shopping solo this evening. I need a break!

liveinazoo · 30/01/2012 16:39

poor scout .its hard when they poorly and overtired.
might have to have a go at the muffins then carrots.you can do that footstool, even if you just tackle it for 15 mins before dinne rand 15 mins after it will at least make a dent in itSmile
blackcatyou can never have too much hot chocolateWink
i will need some poking come 7oclock...ive realised i burn out by then but if i can just push throug it for an extra 30mins itwill make all the difference.
if anyones about when i lg on then(after kids all up to bed) bit encouragement would be appreciated
