Morning!

scout hope you did the washing up? I'm guessing everyone was tucked up in their beds keeping warm?!

babystep 18 - go to bed when you said you would!

So, what time are you going tonight? I'm going to come upstairs by 10pm & lights off by 11pm.

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 18/01/2012 08:03

Morning all,

Just a flying visit.

Not sure how much I will be able to do today as my bad back is playing up.

Right best get back to the school run!

carrotsandcelery · 18/01/2012 08:42

Morning everyone!

Sorry Scout I was falling asleep on the sofa so I sloped off to bed. I hope you got the washing up done.

I have had a rotten night's sleep so I hope someone has added sharpening the poking stick and poking it at me regularly to their to dos for the day Grin

bessie I think we have a timer switch somewhere - that is the answer, thank you. Finding it might not be easy though.

Dh was pleased with the progress in the bathrooms yesterday. I was Shock that he even noticed. I was Grin as well though. I am in the mood for a project today too.

today's mission is here I have half done it but I don't think it will be enough to satisfy me today. Let's see how long this chucking out mood lasts. Hmm

Sort some paperwork (could take a while!)

carrotsandcelery · 18/01/2012 11:12

Hello again everyone.

I have taken the dcs to school, used up a freebie voucher on loads of free dog food (Yay!), bought a few basics at the supermarket (I can't get a fennel here for love nor money - I must live in a backwater) and taken the dog for a massive walk. I power walked the walk as I can feel my feeble level of fitness slipping and think I might have "burnt" the soles of my feet a wee bit as my wellies are a touch big (to allow for big socks when it is cold). I did the walk 15 mins faster than normal though so it must have done me some good.

I will need to hoover the vestibule later as I have brought in heaps of mud and pine needles now.

My plans are to do some filing (hot spots) and to declutter the craft cupboard in the kitchen some more by sorting out the pen and pencil plastic drawer unit (ie chuck out the dried up pens, sharpen the colouring pencils, get all the writing pens in one drawer etc). I will find a good radio programme to keep me entertained as it will be a bit brain numbing.

I will also sharpen that pokey stick and jab it at zoo until she reports back on 15 mins in her bedroom (take in a black bag, a box for recycling, a bag for the charity shop etc and just start in the first foot square near the door like an archeological dig Grin).

I am having a Brew.

I started off feeling like I could get stuff done then mum and "step" dad came to visit and since they have been and gone I have done next to nothing.

My Thorntons are nearly all gone too! Sad What will I use now for a reward??

Oh dear!!

Maybe I will have lunch next then try and get started.

bessie26 · 18/01/2012 12:14

hi, just having some lunch with DD2.

this morning we have been for DD2s swimming lesson, been to collect a prescription & went to the chemist to get it made up
.
I have done all the missions for this week [smug]

This afternoon I need to

  • cook & freeze some fruit for DD2s breakfast
  • mop the kitchen floor
  • write up the recipe for macaroni peas that the girls had for tea last night

muffins seemed to be all the rage last week & I forgot to tell you about ths site - she has quite a few muffin/potato cake/welsh cake type recipes. I want to make the spinach & feta ones this week as I have a pack of feta in the fridge which needs using up.

carrotsandcelery · 18/01/2012 12:17

Enjoy your Brew and some lunch BlackCat and then there is still time before pick up to do quite a few jobs.

I have spent about 45 mins going through the felt pens and chucking what needed chucked etc. Now all the pencils are in one drawer, colouring pencils in one drawer, pens in one drawer etc. It will sound daft but this will make a difference to my life. Now if I have to write a quick note or cheque I don't have to trawl through all the drawers looking for pen that works.

I am on my lunch now.

zoo how is your "dig" going?

carrotsandcelery · 18/01/2012 12:45

Pokey stick required here please. Very tempted to make a third Brew and fall asleep.

Then again, I'm feeling a bit of the same. (Emotionally?) Drained after a conversation with a friend/fellow Guider earlier at (while at Tots with TS) and now just want to sleep. Must not, though, as we're going to a soft play birthday in a little bit!

TaDas include:
washing last night's slow cooker pan (it was still too warm to do it last night)
putting away all cookbooks and cooking magazines (I have more than I should Blush)
decluttered the bathroom window sill
took Toddler to Tots for a run around (and delivered one of his Christmas thank you notes)
put dinner in the slow cooker

Still have more I'd like to get done today but not sure what will since we're going out to play in a bit.

Nice to hear I'm not the only one struggling today!

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 18/01/2012 13:12

Hello, I'm still not getting very far so I went to flylady to get some inspiration.

I found this
Here

Thought it might be of use. I will read while having another Brew Wink

liveinazoo · 18/01/2012 13:15

someone grab that stick and poke, poke, pokety poke me!
have sat here contemplating a nap for the past 20mins....i MUST get in there.the rest of the house is comin ground and makes it look twice as bad/depressing

carrotsandcelery · 18/01/2012 13:16

Hi Scout. I thanks for a nudge in the right direction. I hope you enjoy your soft play.

I have finally tidied out the whole pen and craft section of the craft cupboard. I am really chuffed as this is a cupboard in my kitchen which the dcs often leave open and it sort of spills out across the room and makes me depressed just looking at it.

Now it looks organised. Grin

I am feeling sleepy again now though. I think my bad night is catching up on me.

I am going out later and won't be back til late so I will need to wake myself up a bit.

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 18/01/2012 13:23

carrots don't be to hard on yourself if you had a bad night.

Right must turn off MNet and set timer! GO! GO! GO!

carrotsandcelery · 18/01/2012 13:54

HELP! I am stuck!

OP posts:
BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 18/01/2012 14:05

I just had a mad half hour!

I have Ta Da !:

Nappy change
15 mins washing up
cat litter tray

I am now sat down again. Sad

carrots did you get unstuck ?

carrotsandcelery · 18/01/2012 14:10

Only long enough to put a few pairs of socks on my sore feet BlackCat. Well done on your list. I am off to fold the dry laundry. I will report back once I have done it. I only have an hour until pick up.

Come on BlackCat - can you do another 15mins? eg What's for dinner?

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 18/01/2012 14:24

Ok, I have folded and put away the dry laundry. There isn't enough just now to put on a new load and I have done all the beds already. It seems this flylady business works Grin

That is me for now. I am going to give myself a guilt free rest until 3.15 as it is all go from then until about 7. If I was in an office I would be allowed a lunch break after all Wink

bessie26 · 18/01/2012 14:32

thanks for that link black - it's good stuff, but surely it should be called "how to not make yourself more work thatn necessary" rather than "how not to get side-tracked" ?

anyway, I realised that I hadn't done all the mission stuff as I'd forgotten about "the other room" (the downstairs loo) Sad, so I did that as part of the quick vacuum before mopping the floor in the kitchen/utility/loo.

macaroni peas

DD2 will be up soon, so need to move some laundry around & put some away!

bessie26 · 18/01/2012 14:35

oh dear, I appear to be stuck to the sofa

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 18/01/2012 14:35

Bessie I do agree about that link as it is quite a page full isn't it!
