Eggrules · 15/01/2012 08:48

Morning all

Woke up to a messy kitchen - I should have shined my sink but didn't. Living room is tidy at least.

Outfits for myself and DS have been laid out but have not been put on.

I need to:
Breakfast
Ironing
Sort kitchen
Go to DIY shop for some forgotten essentials to decorate hall
... get this show on the road

carrotsandcelery · 15/01/2012 09:03

Morning all!

I woke up this morning to the dcs fighting over a pin. I kid you not! I came through to monumental, explosive chaos as ds has been junk modelling. His models are fab but... Confused

It all seems more tolerable now I have had some toast and I have a Brew beside me though.

I like today's addition. I actually feel like doing it now that the rest of that room is so lovely. Smile

Today I plan to:

make my bed
get dressed (in pjs just now)
room rescue lounge
dust lounge
hoover lounge
hot spot sideboard and kitchen table
declutter somewhere - not sure where yet
walk dog somewhere interesting
make something interesting for tea

For now I am going to drink my Brew and possibly have another slice of toast.

Morning everyone

Well I've managed to come down with a cold so am feeling a bit sorry for myself. DS (aged2) is currently very busily walking around with the mop and bucket (both dry) busily mopping the sofa, floor, his play mobile pirate ship and apparently the bucket is 'a bit 'eavy mummy'.

We're meant to be going out to get some more storage boxes but am not sure that I feel up to it :( We have made carrotsandcelery's cheese muffins which are in the oven at the moment and smell delicious so they can go with the carrot soup for lunch.

Am not even going to make a list to do as I think surviving will be quite enough for today!

Hope everyone else has a more productive day!

carrotsandcelery · 15/01/2012 10:37

Oh dear Cairn. Be good to yourself. I felt like that at the start of the week. I blasted it with berrocca and Brew and it seemed to do the trick. Have you got oranges etc to do similar?

I have made my bed, washed and dressed, folded and put away dry laundry, hung some washing and put another load on. I have also gently nagged dh about putting Christmas boxes in the loft. Fingers crossed.

cairnterrier · 15/01/2012 11:29

Thanks! Am going for a lie down now whilst DS is snoozing.

PS your cheese muffins are fab! I've sneaked in half a grated carrot to see if DS will eat them that way - all vegetables are poisonous allegedly Hmm

carrotsandcelery · 15/01/2012 11:43

I have vegetable muffin recipes Cairn. I will try to get them listed for you.

I have just made Jamie's Leek and Potato soup, which will now, in my head, be BlackCat's soup. I will try to list that for people too.

I have also put the dishwasher on, cleaned the work tops and shined my sink (even though I know I will have to do it again today).

Dh helped me put the boxes up in the loft so we could get going on dusting the lounge and hallway etc but I am having a Brew first.

I also need to list some ebay stuff for tonight/tomorrow night.

Phew!

Living room dusted and hoovered
Kitchen work surfaces buffed and sink clean
I have sorted through all the toys in the living room (including Satan's playthings - Lego and Hero Factory)

Off to make lunch for DS
Still need to tackle ironing and go to DIY shop
Need to fit in a nap.

carrotsandcelery · 15/01/2012 12:24

Well done Egg. That is an impressive list.

OP posts:
Eggrules · 15/01/2012 12:32

Thanks carrots
I especially ask everyone to note the lego Angry; sorting toys is the worst job imo.

carrotsandcelery · 15/01/2012 12:40

I love toy sorting Egg as long as I am not in a rush. If I am in a hurry it is awful.

Mopping the floor is my worst job - hence my distress on Friday.

How did you sort the Lego? I just chuck it all into one huge plastic box with a lid. I keep the instructions for sets but they would have quite a hunt to find all the pieces.

Dmum has sorted each set (our Lego from when we were dcs which she has kept) into a zip lock bag with instructions. Then there are bags of wheels, bags or red bits, bags of windows etc which aren't parts of sets.

I did this recently with Playmobil but don't know if I would have the dedication to do it with Lego.

Mind you, we used to come home from school and find my dmum had built a Lego house etc while she was watching Wimbledon Shock

Hi all, I have done my shopping now so we are trying to make Sort of fajitas with a tortilla wrap. (we are using chicken goujons) First time I think we have ever tried this so will be interesting to see what they are like.

carrotsandcelery · 15/01/2012 13:46

That is the second load of washing done and the third load in. The DW is on again and the worktops are clean again.

Dd was supposed to dust the living room for an extra £1 pocket money. I said I would inspect it though so I should do that now.

Do any of you have older dcs? Dd is 10, nearly 11, so I am trying to get her to take a bit more responsibilty. She does a few tasks without payment but thought I could reward her for some as well. She is (mostly) a good kid. What do yours do?

bessie26 · 15/01/2012 15:04

Hi, we've had a lovely morning visiting a farm, DD1 loves it, especially when we go for lunch afterwards & she gets a piggy shaped biscuit!

I purposely UNmake the beds every morning when i open the curtains as I like to get some air to the sheet. I usually open the bedroom windows for a while too (i close the door do the rest of the house doesn't get cold)

black, I think whoever is up first can do do the link!

Hope the fajhitas were nice? We had beany ones on Friday night

carrotsandcelery · 15/01/2012 15:37

That sounds lovely bessie. I am Envy

I am thoroughly bored. Dh got up late and then went running for over 3 hours. Then he lazed in the bath for ages and now his feet hurt Hmm.

I didn't want to take the dcs out as they have hardly seen him all week as it is. They don't want to go out anyway. They are happy playing and dd has been baking.

I, however, am sick of these walls.

I think part of my flying routine next week has to involve getting out and about a bit more so I am happy to hang around at the weekend too.

I get back to horse riding next week so that should make me feel a bit more like I have had something for myself too - even if I won't be able to move.

I have done some more dishes, cleaned some more worktops, tidied some toys, started making tea - we are having toad in the hole here, healthy roast potatoes and broccoli. The dcs love it so hopefully they will scoff it.

I hope the fajitas work out ok BlackCat. Let us know how you get on.
