You are all going to be so disappointed. My hobby is horse riding. Ta da!! I really wasn't trying to be coy. I didn't realise you were all so nosey took such an interest in fellow thread members Grin I am totally mortified that it is not hang gliding or rally racing or anything a bit more adventurous Blush

I am impressed at your christmassyness carrots I tried to buy some cards online from our local hospice the other day, but they didn't take PayPal & I was stuck upstairs feeding DD2 so I didn't checkout.

I'm now on 75mg. I can usually feel the difference in a few days too. It's weird coz 3months after DD2 it had got much better (they considered lowering my dosage), but now, 3 months later it's gone the other way? Weird. I need to read up on symptoms of being hyper incase the dosage is too much. Am looking fwd to feeling more awake and maybe loosing some weight

Glad the party went well & your house is all nice & clean, you defo need to keep up the flying to keep it that way forever!

DD1 has another birthday party to go to tomorrow afternoon, so limited flying time. As long as I give upstairs a really good vacuum & wipe the marks off the kitchen ceiling(?!) tomorrow I will be happy.

Carrotsandcelery · 12/11/2011 22:41

bessie after I had ds my dosage went all over the place. I couldn't say it totally settled down until I was finished breast feeding when he was just over a year old. It has been adjusted since then as well - you can tell when it is wonky really.

Sadly, I can't say I have ever lost weight with a new dosage though. Sorry Sad

I have just been dipping into flylady's Christmas control journal. Not all of it is for me but a lot of it I am doing already so fingers crossed. December becomes really hectic with school events, nights out and a visit to dmil. The dcs don't go on hols until Christmas eve or something like that either so I will need to be on the ball.

I also need to make a bit of a fuss of dh for his birthday too. He wants to go out for a small family (ie just the four of us) meal at our favourite restaurant. That doesn't sound too tricky - I just need to book it incase there are loads of Christmas nights out on.

Interesting you say yours didn't settle down for ages, I was told I only had to wait 3 months to give it time to settle! Oh well, as long as I don't get horribly horribly tired like I did before I was diagnosed!

I have just bought my xmas cards - this is probably the earliest I have ever started my xmas prep!

i'll have to have a look at her CJ another day - bed now

bessie26 · 13/11/2011 09:59

Oooh, have just been reading fly lady's Christmas planner thing - everything sorted by the end of nov? Now there's a challenge!

bessie26 · 13/11/2011 10:43

Oh dear, I've been reading too much fly lady, I've started a thread about clutter free gifts

BlackCatinaWoollyhat · 13/11/2011 17:45

Just popping in to say hello. I am in the middle of cooking dinner. Running a bit late as I was making a Victoria sponge cake before I started on dinner.

You both sound like you have made good progress on your houses.Smile
I still have a fair bit to do!

Carrotsandcelery · 13/11/2011 18:37

Don't worry Blackcat we still have a lot to do here.

Are you sharing your Victoria Sponge???? Grin

We have just had toad in the hole and apple pie - not together - yummy!

Today I have mostly been listing items on ebay, some for me, some for charity - all of it counts as decluttering though as the charity ebay stuff has taken over the living room.

I also made muffins with dd and then realised there is no room in the freezer for them. I will have to take some to ddad's tomorrow for his freezer.

Dd cleaned up the kitchen herself which impressed me. She also tidied the table after herself and hoovered the kitchen Shock Long may it continue.

We also got another picture put up. Ds got one for his birthday and it looks great in the kitchen.

BlackCatinaWoollyhat · 13/11/2011 19:46

I am so pleased with the cake.Grin I got some ready rolled icing and made a Hello Kitty head shape and put it on the cake. Then used some jelly beans for eyes and nose and writing icing for the whiskers. I would put it on my profile but I don't know how.
It is a practice cake for DDs birthday at the weekend. So I will have to make another one.

BlackCatinaWoollyhat · 13/11/2011 20:06

Where about's is the Fly Lady Christmas organizer part of Fly Lady?
Would you be able to do a link please?

I am off to see if I can find it.

BlackCatinaWoollyhat · 13/11/2011 20:36

I think I found it. I forgot the Americans call it the holidays. Smile

BlackCatinaWoollyhat · 13/11/2011 21:22

Me again. I have put a picture of cake on my profile.

Carrotsandcelery · 13/11/2011 21:28

It's fab BlackCat. Well done! I don't know how to comment on your profile page.

BlackCatinaWoollyhat · 13/11/2011 21:34

Thanks. I am quite an amateur in the kitchen so am pleased with how this went.

bessie26 · 13/11/2011 22:52

it looks great! Grin

AngelDog · 14/11/2011 07:38

Yes, it looks fab!

BlackCatinaWoollyhat · 14/11/2011 09:18

I think I have realized why I am lacking energy some mornings during the week.
I got up this morning at around 7.00am with quite a lot of enthusiasm for the day But by 9.00am I feel quite exhausted! This is down to DD not eating her breakfast then having a massive tantrum cause she didn't want her shoes on.Hmm Also her running around while I need to get her changed. I end up having to pin her down while she screams and kicks.Sad

Oh well, we managed to get to school with a minute to spare. I don't know what I am going to do when she has nursery and wont eat breakfast.

I'm off to make a large coffee. See if I can regain some energy/enthusiasm.

BlackCatinaWoollyhat · 14/11/2011 09:47

Right, I think the coffee may be working! I am going to make a start on things.
Will report back later.Smile

Carrotsandcelery · 14/11/2011 09:58

Morning all! We have no school today (teacher training) so we are off to see Arthur Christmas with my ddad - he has even rearranged an appointment at the bank to come with us Grin

Dishwasher, worktops and washing machine done. I have also done some ironing and a tiny bit of paperwork.

BlackCat I have said that to my dh often. I get up full of the joys and raring to go but half an hour of nonsense from the dcs and I feel rank. I am learning to put a little "shield" around myself and glory on, much as I did when dd had colic as a baby. Cuddles etc are issued but I am somewhere above and to the left if that doesn't sound too whacky. It works a lot of the time anyway.

I am hoping to take back a heap of stuff to Next today which will declutter the hallway of a massive Next delivery bag. Does that mean I can claim I am flying while off on my jaunt?

OP posts:
BlackCatinaWoollyhat · 14/11/2011 14:56

So far I have:
Washed up/dried up x 2
Emptied the kitchen bin
sorted some newspapers for recycling
Played on MN
and shredded some paperwork.

Carrots how was the film and why are you taking things to next?Confused

bessie26 · 14/11/2011 14:59

carrots any decluttering is decluttering in my book!

black I used to do exactly the same as carrots when she had colic, and try really hard to do it now when she's being a monkey. I think they can sense when you're in a hurry or something is important & play up appropriately. We were on the drag for swimming this morning (the ILs don't help - how is getting the train set out going to help us leave the house?) and I suddenly realised it was getting close to becoming a battle i could never win so I just walked away & DD1 came after me asking me to help her put her shoes on!

anyway, both DDs in bed, & tea drunk so I need to get on with something. I should probably start by putting the huge chilli I made in the freezer (the ILs didn't want to stay for lunch again) & then go start on the bathroom - I vacuumed it all over last night, next I think the taps need descaling, and the floor needs cleaning. Oh Goody.

Carrotsandcelery · 14/11/2011 21:22

bessie sympathy for the unhelpful IL's. My dmum, who is fab generally, has a habit of doing exciting things when she knows we are trying to get out the door. Grin My ddad now just says, "Dmum, they are trying to leave. You are making it harder." or a slightly less kind version depending how fed up of us he is and how desperate he is for us to go.

BlackCat the bag for Next was clothes that didn't fit/suit to be returned (ie a ski suit that made me look like the Marshmallow monster from Ghostbusters Shock)

The film was ok but not amazing. Ddad had a few wee snoozes until ds started posting jelly beans into his mouth. The dcs loved it though and it has made me feel all Christmassy which I often struggle with these days. Smile

I also managed to buy 3 Christmas presents as we wandered about so I am happy on that front too.

The icing on the cake was that when I dropped ddad off I discovered that dmum had made us all tea so I have no cooking or washing up tonight! Yay!

AngelDog · 14/11/2011 22:41

Thanks for all the Christmas Flylady links / suggestions. I was a bit Bah Humbug when I thought about it at first but I could do with a FLY lady approach to get organised with presents. Thankfully we visit family at Christmas so have no cleaning / organising / catering to do.

22 m.o. DS is having a tidying phase which is great. Grin Today I gave him a warning that he'd have to stop playing and tidy up his toys in a few minutes - and turned round to find them half packed away already.

I get him to do slave labour useful jobs like putting away his shoes, putting his dirty clothes in the laundry basket, removing the washed nappy buckets from the bath and putting his baby bath in there (all on his own!) It's probably a phase, but it would be nice if it continues.

I was slightly less impressed when he 'helped' with the cooking - I ended up with broccoli bits and mushroom peelings in the egg white for my chocolate cake. Hmm

Must get ready for bed now or I won't meet my before-11pm deadline, but I'm waiting for the cake to finish baking and the washing machine to finish spinning.

Carrotsandcelery · 14/11/2011 23:00

Angel I am also waiting for the washing machine to finish but suspect I should just give up and go to bed.

OP posts:
bessie26 · 15/11/2011 09:35

Hope you guys didn't have to stay up too late? If I have late laundry, I give DH instructions & go to bed!

Right, DD1 has finally left to goto GPs - it's going to be a shock for them when I go back to work & I need them to have all left by 830!

Today is my house blessing day, so I'm going to make a start on that right after I've put some laundry on & made a cup of tea.

BlackCatinaWoollyhat · 15/11/2011 09:44

Morning all,

Angel I am hoping FlyLady will help me not leave everything till the last minute this year although I haven't done anything Christmassy yet. 3 Birthdays in November first.
I quite like bits of her "FlyLady's Holiday control Journal"
I don't think we are supposed to say too much about it (something to do with copyright) but if I do a link you can take a look. It has some useful lists on it.
