Hi everyone
Have had a very busy morning. Managed to say NO to lots of offers of coffee and a walk with a friend because I KNEW I must get the chaos sorted!!
Have done all the prep for Toddler group tomorrow(I run it)- just got the craft to finish but that's easy and my teenagers will help!
Had half a lamb delivered so organised the freezer and put all that away.
48 cupcakes made for parents/carers or Toddlers for Thurs & Fri!

Still need to hoover living room- it really needs doing everyday or looks a mess and kids have left empty can of coke in the lounge-grrrr!
Kitchen looks like bomb hit so better get on to that- my ongoing list looks like this:

Laundry
Tidy pigsty utility room and clean m/wave
Watch Fri's episode of "Parenthood" done
Sort out dust bunnies and junk under our bed.
Clean downstairs windows inside
Mop downstair loo floor (YS is shocking at aiming!)done
Mow top lawndone
Finish planting hanging basketsdone

Hoover out car and wash outside.outside washed-inside still like a skip!!
Tidy playroom. I Give Up!

JKS - I saw that DS2 went on the escort bus to school, well done him. There is a big local campaign here in our group of villages as Essex have said they are stopping the escort (so driver only on board the bus with children from age 4 up) and everyone is up in arms about it.....

Is DS managing with his leg ok?

I have tiles!

I have paint!

I have bathrooms oh-so-nearly in!

I can start to say that we move back in "next month" (I hope!)

minimammoth · 04/05/2011 19:26

JKS I havv missed somethng. your ds leg?? Any way hope it goes ok. DH now had teeth eased so is more comfy. Just the back to go. Yes he does have regular appointments with Osteo but cost is 'ouch'.
Anon, Wow. Nearly there. exciting.
Am going a bit wonky on keyboard have ahd Wine

JustKeepSwimming · 04/05/2011 20:36

Anon - all sounding very good with house!!

Mini - DS1 decided to fall over a ball at school his first morning back (when DD was a week old) and break his leg. No-one really expected it to be broken (incl one of his TAs who's an ex A&E nurse) until the x-ray showed it was & actually it's quite a bad break :(
He's got a full leg cast for a few weeks, then hopefully will change to a half-length cast. Has an x-ray appt next Monday so fingers crossed it will show all is healing well.

DS2 is very lucky (or we are, or both) to have a really fab SN sch, with pre-sch nearby, that still has an escorted bus service. He will add hours gradually, starting at 4 mornings a week for now. When he adds afternoons the bus will bring him home too :)

right I am so confused about this referendum thing
if I go vote today and another time I have voted I had to do the whole 123456 thing,
I must say I don't like it means somebody is getting my vote that I don't want to get it (or am I wrong??) As you can tell I am big into politics!! I actually think I would be more into it if I didn't live in N I

School runs

hoover
dust
mop

JustKeepSwimming · 05/05/2011 11:49

You see JKS I was going to vote no and then thought but I have definitely voted using 123456 before and then on the radio it said today now remember to number your votes??????? But guess what
I Know what will happen I will not vote and then moan about the politicians, but also I really don't know who I would be voting for,
because the only real thing I would like to get sorted here (well not the only thing, but the thing that is having the most impact on my life atm) is the education system we had the best system by far and they have mucked it right up,
its ok atm as dd will still sit exams in November but I don't know what is down the line for ds

Oh I could rant on for the rest of the thread so I will stop nowGrin

Any hooo
went my walk this morning, bought myself some very healthy looking multi seeded soya & something wholegrain bread
and just had a delicious sandwich
now back to some work!

Oh would love to have been a fly on the wall in nursery today as dd2 told the teachers off for leaving out the umlaut, the two dots, in her name, to which the teacher was waiting to ask was she right, she had never seen them beforerHmm

JustKeepSwimming · 05/05/2011 13:19

Plum - I don't know, is the system in NI already different? Maybe you have to number your votes for your council elections or something? The referendum is (meant to be) straightforward, a yes or no answer. Though there was an old duffer in the polling station this morning asking for help with it Hmm!

Ooh, excited this morning, got into a size 14 pair of jeans Grin
Can get on with packing up more maternity stuff now I think.

IIRC, NI has a "single transferable vote" so yes, Plum you probably have ranked candidates with numbers before.... It's not quite the same as AV, as it aims to achieve "PR" (Proportional Representation) not just the candidate who ends up with 50% plus one (the aim of AV)....

Afternoon :)

I need to vote 'No' too - going to wait until DH is back and then go together I think, can't be doing with going round there with both the boys!

I am annoyed - Waitrose delivery tomorrow but I didn't finish it properly so we'll be getting half an order and loads of things we need not in it. Will have to go to Sainsbury's at some point - ggrrrrrr.

DH has been offered a job - double salary from what he's on atm but only a 6 month contract to start with. We are thinking no, but feel like we ought to give it serious consideration. Anyone or their DH done contract work before?

Ali, would your DH be employed by the company? or would he be acting as a consultant? Would he easily find work once the contract is fulfilled? These are the questions that come into my mind.
On the AV front, please don't jump on me, but I want reform. I don't think AV is the right system, but its a start.
