Hi Peeps!
Back from holiday, how is everyone? Any more pregnancies/babies/other similar?! A lot can happen in ten days!

My new kitchen arrived today

I have a major major weeds in the lawn problem - I don't think I can use Round Up as I don't want to kill the lawn, naturally.

Anyone got any tips/ideas? I have six weeks to make the lawn at my rented house look vaguely respectable as I have not done ANYTHING with it other than a couple of cuts.... I see this as a bit of a challenge.. it's not a big area particularly, so I do think I must be able to do something with it!

TIA!

JustKeepSwimming · 06/06/2011 20:29

No idea Anon sorry, just mow them to the same level as the grass and hope no-one notices?!

Ali - better luck for tonight!

Morning-have lots of bits to do today but am struggling to get beyond coffee this morning! Thought if I came and posted on here it might make me FOCUS!!
So here's the list:

Tidy kitchen and sweep floor.
Drop DS at preschool.
Post mortgage forms.
Print off new term forms for toddler group I run.
Check on craft for this week and get supplies together.
Laundry, laundry, laundry.
Drop DD at college for exam.
Hoover through.
Hoover out my skip on wheels car
Research car hire for our vacation to Cyprus.
Mop hall flor and bathroom floors.
Walk dogs.
Call Tesco for schools AGAIN and get them to sort out my toddler group account.

Ongoing List

Declutter magazines.
Declutter wardrobe and re-organise.
Take Ds's outgrown clothes to charity shop.
Trip to tip with crap from garage.
Plan routes for next 3 training walks. (walking Hadrians wall later this year).

That'll do for now!

SupersonicDave · 07/06/2011 09:04

I have been here all the time honestly Wink

Anon artificial lawn? We have been very tempted....

I need to do a serious spring clean. We are going to decorate our room, and it is currently a dumping ground. DD's play area (also the conservatory and laundry) has been taken over by our stuff, there is stuff in every corner of the house, but i am almost on top of the laundry (well, everything apart from everything in actual laundry hamper has been washed, believe me, this is such an improvement!)

AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH................... help?

Oh and DS is into everything he is cruising and keeps trying to stand on his brick trolley to get over the sitting room stair gate.

He is looking ready for a nap now though, so need a list of things to do in half hour

Evening :)

Really nice day here, we went to a friends for the day and then DH was home early so we took the boys to the park and came home via the chip shop. DS2 has slept loads, am worried about what tonight may bring!!

Plum - I did see your recipe, thank you. They look fabulous and I will definitely make some another time.

JKS - hope all is well with DS2.

Anon - just reading your list makes me knackered, no idea how you manage it tbh! :)

Hello Dave Grin

Back to normal tomorrow, pre-school etc. I need a big list, all behind with housework, mealplanning and everything.

OP posts:
PlumBumMum · 07/06/2011 19:45

Ali he might surprise and sleep loads tonight, fingers crossed. I definitely recomend those buns they are yummy and with pecan pineapple & banana I convince myself they are good for me too Grin

Since I am not baking tonight I have one of 2 lovely choices
Iron or VAT rtn yuck

JustKeepSwimming · 07/06/2011 20:30

Plum - that's sad. I vote ironing, I don't get vat stuff!

GOSH was good thanks, they assessed his 2 worst areas (speech & fine motor) and put them both about 24months (he's 3.5 now), which given we basically say he was 0 pre-op and that was only 18months ago we are pretty chuffed with him! And they said he would be classed as having 'moderate' learning difficulties which is 'too able' for his SN school longer term!!
There's a long way to go still but he is making great strides.

today:

  • DC bath & bed DONE
  • my dinner DONE
  • me to bed DONE (2nd night in a row nice and early!)

Wed:

  • breakfast & tidy up
  • all dressed
  • DS2 bus pickup/DS1 to sch
  • LIBRARY!!! (my books overdue now)
  • HV 6 (7) week check (10.30)
  • lunch
  • poss visit ill friend? (need to text his son to check first)
  • poss trip to town for various bits?
  • collect DS1 & go chocolate nesquik shopping...
  • DS2 home
  • chill out
  • tea x 3 (fish fingers day)
  • DC to bed
  • DH home late

Ongoing:

  • Find new dentist that is taking on NHS nervous patients for me/investigate private; DH thinks his will take me on too
  • order blind for kitchen side door
  • curtains for playroom; gather & tie strings - 2 of 4 done; stitch pairs together; hang - need more hooks
  • pictures to label 'animals' & 'people' & 'cars' boxes
  • see if any toys can go/be put away
  • watch Prison Break DVDs & give back to PIL; Started
  • DS1 Party; pencilled in for July (confirm once cast is off on Thurs)
  • clean oven; Bought Oven Pride
  • blue badge application for DS2; Form done need photos
  • passport photos of all 3 DC (2 for passports, 1 for blue badge form)
  • library (with DS's books & my 2 books)
  • bank - pay in cheque
  • sort out flush on downstairs loo
  • make some cards; Done more; & sort out presents
  • TQs (baby & DS1 bday); Doing
AnonymousBird · 08/06/2011 07:54

JKS, that all sounds like very encouraging news. If he is doing that well in what you describe as his worst areas, then good on him (and you!). How often do you go for these assessments?

Ok, another day - I WILL get some things of this list before the end of the week, oh yes I WILL!

My ironing has reached critical mass - although I hate it, Plum, I have no idea about VAT returns and at least I can watch desperate housewives with the ironing, so my vote is the ironing!

Loads to do today, and the first part of the day has completely disappeared with feeding/changing/dressing etc. Not a great night, but not a totally horrendous one either. DS1 started sleeping through from 11pm-7am at 11 weeks, every night without fail until he hit the 4-month sleep regression. Really hoping DS2 does the same, he is 10 weeks now.

Re assessments - we won't go back to GOSH for another one unless there are problems, so we'll have the same test done locally probably every year for a few more years, depends how organised they are here...! Plus school will review him officially for his Statement every year as well as ongoing reviews so we'll keep track that way.

Ali - lots of the others on our AN thread seem to be getting long sleeps at night, not us! Well M will do a good 4 hours stretch first thing at night, then can be up any time after that, last night 12, 3 & 4.45. Then DS2 was up at 5.45

So tonight is my waterloo Road & Apprentice night so it will be either ironing or VAT for that

Anon - if it's not too rude, does your DD look, well, big? I like having a lovely big baby but when she's older i don't want being this hulking amazonian or anything. (no offence intended to amazonians....)
