I hope so Ali - he hasn't woken when i've gone to the loo at night for months but did when i went last night. He found a truck in his bed (as you do) and was chatting away, 'truck, truck' and it was 1.20am.
He did go back to sleep when i resettled him thankfully but not ideal in the run up to having a baby.
Have to have a serious think about who sleeps where once things have settled down - DS1 needs his sleep but was woken at 5.55 today, i tried to shush him and put him back in bed and he didn't come down til 6.30ish but still not ideal.

OK an ideal parenting Q - have this idea i should read with DS1 every day (now he's finally started reading) but he only does reading officially at sch 3 days out of the 5. So we finished his book yesterday but didn't get a new one today - assume he will tomorrow - as it's not a 'reading day' for him. Should we re-read the same book (only short kiddie ones) or just leave it for a day?
We have done some writing of names onto party invites so not entirely devoid of educational-something-or-other :)

DD has new books M W and F. They are left in her school bag on the days in between and we normally re-read (time allowing). Her teacher (who DS also had last year) positively encourages re-reading as it reinforces any new words and gives them confidence that they can read the book with little/no help. I find that if we have re-read, the comment in her notebook is always much better than if we haven't... and DD being uber-competitive is keen to get those comments!!!!

Lovely day today, Mum has been a star - looked after DS, cooked, tidied. Feeling much less achey for having been able to sit about a bit.

Anon - it was boiling here, 18 degrees earlier!! The hospital was ridiculously warm, really hoping it is cooler when I'm in there next week!

JKS - I think re-reading is good, especially going from one day to the next. If nothing else, it is a good habit to get him into for when his books are longer/harder etc I would think?

Freaky - the nappies came today, thank you! They are v.lovely, even DH was quite taken with the cuteness of the Swaddlebees one I will send over the postage costs tomorrow :)

What a gorgeous gorgeous day. DC and I got back from school, chucked jacket potatoes in the oven then took our bikes and ice lollies up to the church yard (which must be one of the prettiest spots in the whole of England!) and just sat, lolled, cuddled, they cycled. Utter bliss.

Even DDog adores it, she is such a sun worshipper, finds the sheltered most sunny spot of the garden and lies there sleeping for hours (oh for a dog's life hey?!)

I love that DC can just go outside in shorts, t'shirts and crocs. So easy.

Anon - that sounds idyllic :) DS2 particularly loves being outside and this better weather is a godsend for him, he'll spend hours pottering around in the garden, whilst i keep half an eye on him from indoors on the sofa!

Am currently waiting for my food delivery after a very hectic day. Spent all morning in the garden weeding, tidying and repotting stuff, then picked up ds went to sainsburys and homebase, then straight to toddlers, from there to pick up dd from school, home where dc baked cakes for H bday, planted new plants out, went to shop (twice because forgot icing sugar the first time) helped dc ice cakes, cooked dinner, h came to get his card and cakes, put sofa covers back on where I'd washed them, tidied and hoovered downstairs, bathed dc and got them into bed and am finally able to sit down for the first time all day/ Need to make ds and I a packed lunch for tomorrow once my shopping arrives and then I am looking forward to a shower and bed!

Really pleased with what I got done in the garden today though, it was a real mess and looks much better now.

Good stuff: Windows got done today. Hrah. The differenence is amazing. French beans saved from seed last year have all germinated. sweet peas too.
Not good stuff: after last weeks VAT paid twice debacle we have had money taken from account fraudulently, I no longer feel safe around online transactions. Someone was able to get through security codes etc.
DD2 may have a breach baby, so may be looking at cesarian. Ging to scan and try to turn.

lucky you mini, wc was meant to do mine last thurs but couldn't because of a funeral, then promised me this week but am still waiting and know he has physio tomorrow so is unlikely/

Am also still waiting for my sodding food delivery that was meant to come between 7 and 9 customer services not answering either

raaaagh the delivery driver has just phoned me and said there is a problem with the van and they can't deliver tonight. Why couldn't they tell me that earlier?? Been sat here waiting all night for nothing (not that I would have gone out but I could have showered or gone to bed!) lThey should at least have called within the delivery period not an hour and ten minutes later. Apparently I will get free delivery on my next order

(and what happens to the fridge/freezer stuff does it just sit in the van until tomorrow??)

Friend popped round with a plug-in aquarium thing for DS2, he loves it, and we had been thinking of buying one when a friend of hers was getting rid of one, yey :)
Thrown plans for morning off though but in a good, stay-at-home way :)

• Find new dentist that is taking on NHS nervous patients for me/investigate private; DH thinks his will take me on too
• Photos: upload select photos of DC to Snapfish & order
• order blind for kitchen side door & curtains for playroom
• pictures to label 'animals' & 'people' & 'cars' boxes
• research motability options; Waiting for news on extension
• see if any toys can go/be put away
• watch Prison Break DVDs & give back to PIL; Started
• census forms; Started
• party invites; write out; STARTED; & 'post' at school first before holidays, then non-sch friends over holidays
• buy 'hookbacks' for the front door curtain; Researching
• clean oven; Bought Oven Pride
• thank-you card & present for pre-sch (tin of biscuits I think)
• tidy BF course file, rewrite scrawled notes, etc & hand in (have a month)
