JKS - where do you get your name tapes from? I have realised that I need some ready for DS starting pre-school next month. If I get them now, then my Mum will probably take pity on me and do them while I'm in hospital!! Grin

That is good news about the milk donation. I would love to do it, but we don't have a bank near enough.

JustKeepSwimming · 20/03/2011 15:06

Isn't it just Plum, esp when they must have thought they were over the 'dangerous' bit :(

Ali - tbh i can't remember! Think Dh ordered them online. There is a website with an MN discount if you look at the shopping section.
I/we went for sew on ones in the end, as even though they are a faff to sew on, i think they last longer. We went for just surname though so all clothes can be passed down
You're in Hants right? are you far from So'ton?
From what Cambridge told me (too far away though) they would accept a delivery from me every 6-ish weeks, figure you wouldn't start straight away and might stop around 1yr (if not before) so not that many trips in total.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 20/03/2011 17:01

JKS - cheers, I will have a look in the discount bit now. I want to get sew on ones too. And yes, perhaps just surname is a good idea!
Southampton is our nearest milk bank, but we are about as far as possible away from there as it is possible to be and still be in Hampshire! I rang them when I was feeding DS and they wouldn't do pick-ups this far away, and 3 weeks was the longest they would let me store my milk IYSWIM? Perhaps I should ring them again and see whether anything has changed - I could get down there once every 6 weeks without too much bother.

Plum - isn't it just? :(

Mini - I'm 36 weeks now, so guessing Ali is about 39? Are you a hands on Granny? Will you go and stay when it arrives?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 20/03/2011 21:04

Mini I am 39 weeks! Argh. My Mum rang me today to tell me that she has finished her knitting for the baby :)

JKS - no I don't suppose it will mind about the shredding Grin But - at the moment the pile of stuff that needs shredding is shoved in the wardrobe along with the baby's stuff, and is in the basket thing which I used when I had DS to transport all my bits and bobs up and down the stairs with a baby in one hand - and it was soo useful! So there is method to my madness, honestly! Grin
I am clearly going a bit bonkers though, I've just rolled up all the baby towels and stacked them neatly in a basket in the bathroom. Hmm

JKS, ALI, I will be going up for the 'birthweek' a few days before due date, so I hope to be there and present if I'm allowed and needed. Unfortunately, I am not near enough to be fully hands on, I am a few hours drive away from HMHB and DD2. I might just venture into the knitting shop today. Don't know if its pink or blue though Smile. 5th May is the due date so you wil be holding you little ones then.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 21/03/2011 10:43

Mini - my birthday is the first week in May, it is a lovely time of year to have your birthday :)
We don't know if pink or blue either, so the knitting is white and cream so far and then Mum will do some more once the baby is here! She is a bit obsessed, and has already planned what to knit for DS for next winter!!

Very unambitious lists this week. I am just going to try and spend lots of time with DS and rest as much as possible!

Hi Peeps.
Can't believe these bubbas are so close to arriving now!!! Where has the time gone?

I know where it has gone - out the flippin window. Don't have time to list right now. Hopefully later! On a mid morning dash home to drop off shopping/unload the WM/DW then out again.

See you later.... Off to see them render my house (oh yes, yes yes) and it's just the right weather as well. Phew. Must be my lucky day!

Rendering is a good word Grin

Am Angry. Friend and I were meant to be going for lunch today after toddlers. On sun I text her about something else and she told me she was going to get her new car in the morning so her sister would be taking her dc to toddlers but that she would be back in time for lunch. But then today her dd asked if she could come to my house and friends sister said no they were all going to grandma's house and that friend was going straight there to meet them for lunch. I wouldn't mind so much if she had asked her sister to let me know she could no longer make it, or text me or whatever but I found out completely by chance that she had changed plans and if I hadn't ds and I would probably be sat here starving and waiting for her. This friend has let me down so many times, literally every time we arrange to do anything she cancels or just doesn't show and the only way we do see each other is if I go to her house. Don't think I can be bothered anymore tbh. I couldn't really afford lunch today anyway but because we have hardly seen each other I was prepared to do it anyway so we could catch up.

Today

Freaky - that is so crap. Some people are just mega lame, and actually IME it is the ones who have loads of family around to help out and be involved with all the time - so perhaps aren't so worried about how well they treat their friends.

Anonymousbird · 22/03/2011 15:54

OO, my message box is HUGE here.

Hello everyone. Freaky - that is crap indeed. I had a friend like that, made plans, broke plans, ridiculous excuses... you reach a point. I then didn't invite her to my wedding (not in direct revenge for the let downs, but we had grown apart by then) and she had seven types of fits!!!! Not a proper friend.

Anyway, today is DH's birthday. We managed to go out for a sandwich and a sneaky half a lager at lunch time (felt very naughty having a drink before going to collect DC from school!!!).

Listing not up to much today other than:

  • Feed DC
  • Hoover
  • Tidy playroom
  • Take DC swimming
  • Home to collapse.
