Hi everyone,

have just read last page, BUT JKS I would go to A&E, my friends litle boy has phenmonia at the min, all the doc said to her was don't want to worry you but not enough air getting in his right lung so she just went straight to A&E

Anyway I am back to keep up, dd1s birthday tomorrow so visitors tomorrow night, and then she is in hosp on Wednesday morning for steroid injections in her ankle

And I need to keep up with me pg slattern buddies don't want to miss any birth threads

SupersonicDave · 08/03/2011 09:10

Morning Smile

Hey Five good to see you here.

JKS hope the x-ray gets done quickly and painlessly

Finally (dare i say it?) getting a bit more sleep, we have had 3 nights in a row of DS not waking til 4.30. Could we really be getting there? Confused

Was doing ok, but have ground to a halt in front of lady and the tramp. Need to get a fair bit done due to tidy friend coming over this afternoon - the one who is always early!

Will be back in 15mins

Anonymousbird · 08/03/2011 09:58

Hello all. JKS - good luck, hope you get it sorted fast..

Ali - I do wonder if/when it will all go wrong because so far our four months has been very busy, but has been all so smooth... I feel very lucky, hope it keeps going for another 8 weeks!! My friend, who I saw at school today who is doing a "Grand Design" is in a terrible place. Her builder went bankrupt last week with loads of their money... they gave him some up front to pay the sub contractors. Which he didn't, of course. So they now have a built but completely unfinished house which is supposed to be absolutely amazing. But no contractor. They were supposed to be in this month or so. She was red eyed and wearing a hat to cover her face... I felt so bad for her.

What can you do? I just said, any time you want me to do lifts to or from school or whatever, just to give you a break, or if you need the time to have meetings etc, then let me know. But you can't do much more can you?

  • we've missed you, do stick around!

DH has gone to Dubai - for 24 hours!!! Crazy, hey?!

Hello

JKS you ok? I second a&e if you haven't already gone. Whenever ds' temp goes above 41 (as it does every time he is ill)and my gp say they don't have appointements(they never do Hmm) I now go straight to a&e and get referred up to the children's ward...puts my mind at rest to know he's been seen if nothing else.

Am not steaming ahead as much as yesterday but still doing ok today. Ali if you were doing even half as much as I did yesterday at your stage of pregnancy I would be telling you off so don't even think about it!

Is it the lakeland vacuum bags you all use? Had some from wilkinsons and kleeneze before but they weren't great-gradually puffed up again. Have decided to get some more for the spare duvets/pillows/blankets etc which will give me a bit more space (hopefully).

Also really need to gte rid of my nappy stock so need to place an ad on here I think...if anyone wants any new cloth think of me first!

Hi all, well all went well with the scan, phew.

Firstly DH came home late, then dealt with DS2 at 4am when he needed a bed change, pj change & nappy change (Calpol & DS2 don't mix well!). Then not much sleep after that. DH up early to go back to work.
DS2 miserable at 7ish but after a full ventolin dose was chirpy again, got the Nanny to come in especially and she went in for the x-ray with him, got ther for 9ish, out by 9.45 Shock Grin
results to GP in 48ish hours.
Went to bf group as normal, then I had a nap after lunch while Nanny played with DS2. Then off to his planned paed appt & home via KFC Grin

Can smell another bad nappy, urgh, but bathtime in 5mins then off to orchestra.

Oh and paed listened to his chest just in case and said it was fine Hmm

Tues:

  • go to hosp for 9 and wait to be seen by x-ray dept DONE
  • boys bath & DS2 to bed
  • DS1 ready for bed
  • orchestra
  • stop at cashpoint for cash for sitter

Wed:

  • all up & breakfasted
  • all dressed
  • DS1 to sch/DS2 to pre-sch
  • bath & bed for me :) (try not to sleep the whole morning away!)
  • straight to SN group for lunch & playtime
  • collect DS1
  • chill out time
  • tea x 3 (fish fingers day)
  • boys to bed

Longer term:

  • Find new dentist that is taking on NHS nervous patients for me/investigate private; DH thinks his will take me on too
  • make boys dentist appts
  • Photos: upload select photos of DC to Snapfish & order
  • order blind for kitchen side door & curtains for playroom
  • pictures to label 'animals' & 'people' & 'cars' boxes
  • research motability options; DH doing
  • see if any toys can go/be put away
  • watch Prison Break DVDs & give back to PIL; Started
  • sort baby stuff from loft; Started
  • practice stuff from Portage Worker with DS2
  • some research for my BF presentation (thinking of doing a short presentation on milk donation)
Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/03/2011 21:49

Hello :)

Had a lovely day today, have come down to my parents and went and got my hair done this afternoon while they looked after DS. And then my Mum cooked pancakes Grin We are staying here tonight and then heading home tomorrow.
Feeling v.chuffed to have got a haircut in so close to the baby arriving, this could last me 10 weeks at a push so plenty of time to get my act together once DC2 is here!

JKS - glad DS2 seems ok. And that you had some back up from DH and the nanny! Fingers crossed that you get a good night tonight :)

Anon - your MIL seems a bit of a legend! Dog, DCs! Grin

Freak - I am in the market for cloth Grin Will take a look at your thread.

TimeWasting · 08/03/2011 22:06

Hello all, won't be about for a bit, I'm going to try and keep off MN for a bit, got so much to do lately and I'm a sucker for checking Active convos all the time, so I need to cold turkey.
Hope you're all well and I'll check in for any announcements!

xx

Anonymousbird · 08/03/2011 23:18

Ali - she is great, but don't we know it kind of thing?!?! That sounds mean, she/they are fab, truly, but we have to bow and scrape somewhat. We never ask, she always offers, but offers in a way you kind of have to be "oh so grateful". I actually quite wanted to do pancakes myself today, but yesterday she swooped in with wanting to do it for the grandchildren, which was nice, but I had no option.

But it gave me an hour I sorely needed, really, so I should be grateful. Kind of.

Good night!

LOL Anon yes i am!!
I woke at 5 but no noise from DS2 until nearly 6!! yey.
he's busy playing while we wait for 7/DS1 to get up, seems happy enough this morning (though i have already given him his inhaler) so think he should be fine to go to pre-sch later :)

I get what you mean about your MIL, sometimes mine does things that i feel should be the Mums/Dads job, ie stockings at Christmas?! i do them too just to show that i am their Mum, hers get given later on with presents not first thing but still it bugs me.

MIL has offered to come and stay for a week when i'm 37 weeks as DH still is really busy at work that week. WWYD? i mean if i don't have the baby then she'll be a real help. If i do though, i don't want her around for my home birth...

(DS1 up)

Anon, JKS. Re MIL. I know what you mean, my MIL was so helpful, always doing the cleaning, making cakes, turning up with a trifle etc. I always took it personally, wasn't my house clean enough etc. Now I see that she was just trying to help, I had 3 kids under 3 at one time so hands full. Now she is long gone and i realise she was just trying to be helpful. Also that she did not have daughters an I think that made a difference. I did a lot of gritting teeth at the time though.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 09/03/2011 15:26

Anon - ahhhh I see Grin It has to be the most awkward relationship to get right MIL/DIL. I am very lucky with mine, she is lovely and doesn't interfere, but is supportive when we ask her to be. She was a star when I had my c/s with DS - she came and looked after me for the week that DH went back to work and my Mum couldn't come. That really helped our relationship, and I've actually been and stayed with her and taken DS without DH coming. I think it helps that DH was married before, and she had an awful relationship with his ex-wife, so in comparison I look fabulous despite being a bit of a control freak Grin

JKS - tough one. If you feel at 37 weeks how I do this week, then I would bite her hand off at that offer - but I can see that you wouldn't want her there if you went into labour! You would have to give birth very quietly in the middle of the night without her realising! Grin

Wasting - have fun in RL! :) Pop in and let us know how you get on with scans or anything though won't you?

I had such a good night's sleep last night, lovely big bed and just me in it! I didn't even need any extra pillows!!
DS and I are home and just having a lazy afternoon. Must do a short list though.

TO DO
Book Waitrose delivery for Friday
Mealplan for weekend (MIL and S-FIL here for lunch on Saturday)
1 load of washing
Unpacking once DH has unloaded my car when he gets in
DS tea
DH home
DS to bed
Dinner for me and DH

JustKeepSwimming · 09/03/2011 15:42

Mini - my MIL only had her 2 boys so i think, in fact i know, that she craves a daughter-type relationship.
BIL & his wife emigrated with 3 DC to Oz 2 years ago & SIL is a weird fish - she doesn't talk to me or MIL at all. Her FB photo album entitled 'Christmas' (when PIL spent 6 weeks staying with them) had no photos of either PIL Hmm So compared to her i look angelic as i talk to her & actually even ring on skype voluntarily sometimes!

I'm heading for a no to that week though, will book the Nanny in for a couple of extra days to help out but i can't face labour with MIL around
