Cream Cracker mission of mercy?!?

Soft play - I can barely do an hour, let alone five

OK, rant alert.

Some of you may remember that my DH recently had a really bad rugby knee injury and had to have an emergency op to put it right... that was 5 weeks ago. His surgeon told him to reconsider his rugby future (surgeon speak for give it up boy).

So where is DH RIGHT NOW? On his way to play a rugby match. "Oh, I"m only the sub". Ok, so the injury rate in their team is.... errr.... several per match (bunch of unfit old codgers, they fall like flies!). He'll be subbed on in the first half. I mean, what the F**K is he doing? Hasn't even been for his 6 week post op check up and he is on the bloody rugby pitch. Major sodding pissed off I am. I mean, it's stupid, it's selfish. He's not fit anyway as he hasn't been to training/doing his usual exercise. He started a new job this week, he does NOT need to hobble into work again on Monday. Oh, and he is supposed to be travelling next week.

He may come back in once piece, but GOD, if he hurts himself again I will be SO. CROSS. His parting words "I'll call you from the hospital darling".

AAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Anon - honestly, what an idiot! I really hope he doesn't get injured as that would be bad but he does deserve it!!

We got good news in the post yesterday x 2; DS2 qualifies for mobility which means we can now get started on sorting a new car, hopefully by the time baby comes. & he's got his statement for the SN school :)

Anon - OMG I would be furious! I hope he makes it home in one piece, at least until you get your hands on him!!

JKS - glad you had a good time, and yay for DS2's statement etc :)

I am 37 weeks today. Full-term - yay! The baby can now come whenever it likes, once my parents get back from their trip abroad on Monday night Grin

We have had a knackering day today - went to John Lewis to get a few final bits before the baby gets here. We were there ALL DAY - primarily because I can only walk and about half a mile an hour and had to keep stopping. However, we are now all sorted, although the bank balance has taken a major hammering Blush Also looked at freezers to replace the dead one, and now we're wondering whether to just get a bigger fridge/freezer for the kitchen and not bother with an extra one in the garage. Such excitement Hmm
Tomorrow DH is taking DS to a car show, after bringing me a bacon sarnie in bed - so I'm looking forward to a quiet morning/day :)

Anonymousbird · 06/03/2011 14:24

Oh, I was furious in a kind of silent boiling from within kind of way.

Anyway, he did play about 30 minutes, he survived, no evidence of recurrence of existing/any new injuries. However, we've just been doing some gardening so suspect that our backs and legs etc will be hurting later instead!!!!

Well done JKS - excellent multiple news.

Ali - hope you are getting your quiet day!

Right, house is like a bomb has gone off. MIL bring DDog back from her holidays later today so I think at least a superficial sort is required!!!!

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 06/03/2011 18:37

Anon - glad he's ok, though really he was risking it so soon after the op.

The mobility/motability is looking confusing as instead of awarding DS2 the usual 2 years (from 3-5 when it is reassessed) they have said until Oct 2011, not long enough to qualify for the car scheme, DH will ring tomorrow to clarify.
I don't mind if we don't get mobility so much really it's just affecting our choice of car to fit us all in, we could find a 2nd hand 7-seater but being awarded mobility means we can get a new one through the scheme Confused Ideally we wanted to get sorted pre-baby...

Been rubbish with lists this weekend, went for a swim with boys, DH & DB this morning & done some laundry & that's about it for today!

Anon - wow to maybe finishing on time!!

I am totally frazzled, DS2 coming down with cough/cold/asthma, again. Took him to docs for nebuliser, he freaked and wouldn't take it, hitting, screaming, kicking, etc. Doc listened to his chest, says he needs ABs & an 'urgent' x-ray for an infection, right lung sounds very bad....get card with x-ray number & urgent written on it.

When do you think they can see him...??????? oh urgent means Mon-Fri 9-4, come in tomorrow and wait til you're seen Confused i do not get it. apparently the urgent only applies to getting the results, not getting the x-ray done in the first place. WTF?

So he's had some ABs, wouldn't eat tea, and has gone to bed early. DH says he'll come back later tonight in case things go downhill and we need to go to hosp. i am just a teary mess, need to pull myself together as he's ok really, i'm just over-reacting.

Anonymousbird · 07/03/2011 18:42

JKS - you are NOT overreacting.

We had very similar with DS when he was about 1.5... But we were advised simply to get straight to A&E rather than be referred, which we did. He had already been on AB's for a few days at that point, when they found pneumonia on his xray, the hospital gave us stronger AB's and within 2 days he was almost as good as new.

Glad DH coming home later, and frankly, if you think you should just go to A&E, then just go, they have to see you and the existence of your xray card will demonstrate you need to be taken seriously.

Poor you. I absolutely feel for you.

OP posts:
Alibabaandthe40nappies · 07/03/2011 19:26

JKS - you poor thing, not overreacting at ALL. I would be all to pieces in that situation. Glad that your DH is going to come home, at least then you have some moral support and someone to make you a Brew! Have a (((hug)))

Anon - that would be amazing! My parents are rebuilding renovating their house in France atm, and that is all on time too - we had thought they would be months behind and subject to lots of gallic shrugging!! Grin As it is, it looks like we might be able to head down there for a holiday by the end of the summer!

five - always nice to get a good Monday in I think, my week often goes downhill from there! :)
