JustKeepSwimming · 18/02/2011 13:17

Wasting-what was your previous birth like?

As I was lucky enough to have DS1 vaginally and with no tears/stitches/etc (didn't know how lucky at the time) and had him at home, i know how well things can go.
I really would prefer if this baby wouldn't mind...lol!...to go into labour in the evening once boys are in bed, have it at home in the pool in not too many hours, then small glass of bubbly & to bed until the morning when the boys can meet their new sibling :)

Plum - very nice Envy

Bought a nitty gritty comb today, will test DS1's hair at the weekend, then worry about the rest of us if he has them.
Also bought a lip balm for my labour bag & a puzzle book - in the hope that i'm not in labour long enough to be bored in hosp!!

Aw Ali, I bet he has a great time, enjoy the peace. Smile

I had emergency CS with DS, not a long labour, but he was OP and it was agony and we weren't progressing at all once I had the epidural. Blessed relief though it was. He was getting a little distressed, heartbeat dropping at contractions so ended up a CS.
He was 9lb 7 with a massive head (my side of the family Grin) so I think I might have struggled even if he hadn't been OP.
I wasn't impressed with how I was treated in the delivery ward and I hated the stay afterwards, but think that most of the issues I had would be minimised with a elective I think.
I know more about bf etc. now of course and will have a list of contacts for bf support, tongue tie consultant etc. and a much more bolshy attitude. Grin

Well I flaked out this afternoon, but got the place tidy for when DH got in. Just getting his tea while he's out for a run and then I'm going to do a manicure and watch some telly. Smile

JKS, hope you've woken to dry sheets?

DH birthday today. Then he's away for work for a fortnight, but he'll be able to pop home a lot this time, which is always nice.

Happy Sunday Morning everyone. Hope all are well, have caught up a bit on thread. Have the nits gone? brought back memories for me of when mine had them, I was doing a counselling course at the time and we had to do a practical in front of everyone, I played the 'client' role and talked about having head lice,( I did actually have them). The whole room was scratching after ten minutes. Grin
Had a good break, will start list tomorrow.

Anonymousbird · 20/02/2011 13:51

Hello everyone.

I had 41wks 8lb 6oz
39 + 4 8lb.

My nephew was 42 weeks and 10lb (grief!) - I really felt for SIL!!

Anyway, we've been at rugby all morning and I came home with the two dirtiest children ever, more of them covered in mud than not.. good fun though, they do love it, and such a nice group of kids and coaches so it's worth the early starts and all the mud.......!

It feels like the kind of afternoon to sit the DC down in front of a film and then have a roast dinner. Smile and Brew for us!

Was DH ok??!

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 20/02/2011 14:04

Mini - no nits after close examination with comb last night, and bizarrely my head is less itchy too - all in the mind!!!

Hi Anon - those are good weights for yours, think DS1 at 6,12 wasn't really ready to come out but some matrimonial activity the night before encouraged him out, lol. Then he piled on the pounds, sometimes a pound a week, for a while until he found his (heavier) level.

Sun:

  • get DH to get baby stuff down from loft given him list
  • sort baby stuff from loft
  • finish laundry; Nearly Done, ironing & putting away
  • last bits of shopping for baby bag (nappies etc)
  • sort into 2 bags DONE

He managed to get to the osteopaths and had a good treatment which settled his back so all went well. We had a lovely time, lovely hotel too. Vienna was not at all as I had imagined, but it was great, am now 'museumed' and 'arted' out, not to mention cake.
