Pah Valentines. Single person's day of doom.

Have avoided supermarket all week after getting depressed by all the Valentine's tat I wouldn't want anyway merchandise last week.

Thank goodness I will be able to go shopping again on Tuesday!

Invoices do not sound fun mini

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 13/02/2011 16:49

Valentines is a day of doom for all I think, unless you are in that first flush of a relationship. I remember the first year that DH and I were together, we had been together for 3 months and living together for 3 weeks. He sent me roses and champagne - to my desk - even though we worked in the same building Grin

Last year I don't think we even did cards, we were too sleep deprived to think straight.

This year we agreed to do cards, but that is the extent of it Grin

SupersonicDave · 13/02/2011 21:26

Hello Slatterns Smile

It is i (she of the ginormous baps Wink) Wasting said you had missed me Grin

House not too bad atm, just keeping things ticking over, friend came over on saturday and bullied helped me to sort through the toy box, which has made a huge difference to the sitting room. Still haven't found my hairbrush though Hmm

Did i hear mention of a dog for loan? We have started with BLW Confused Grin

TimeWasting · 14/02/2011 08:29

Morning!

Hey Dave! Grin

DH has taken the day off, and we are going to start with a romantic family trip to the doctors. Grin DH ear is still bad and I need to sort my skin out.

I'm thinking about preparedness at the minute. (Might start a thread)
I feel like I am never ready to just go. I don't have enough clothes, so often have to wait for stuff to dry before we can go out. I swap my purse etc. between mine and the changing bag, so can't just grab a bag and go, I have to think about what I'm doing.
It's all little things, but added together it eats into brain space and stops spontaneity.

In good news though I have finished copying all the CDs. Smile
(apart from the copied ones, no rush on those Grin )

  • hang washing
  • kitchen - 15 mins
  • shower and dress

Valentines? What is that? We picked up two children on the way to school this morning and the little girl said to my DS "Happy Valentines DS" and he had not a clue what she was talking about!!! It was very sweet, but unfortunately completely lost on him

Orroit Dave? Glad it's all going ok, well done on the toybox sorting, ours needs a big cull.

Do dogs eat playdo? There is a reason why I never get the damn stuff out, and it came back to me yesterday after the dc played with it Angry

Wasting I had the same bag issue when dd was tiny so soon swapped to just using a roomy handbag-chucked in a couple of nappies, some wipes and a cup(if I was REALLY organised) and I was sorted. Didn't worry about changes of clothes etc I must admit. And when I had two in cloth I kept my handbag inside the changing bag so if I was ever popping out without the dc it was just a case of grabbing that out of the big bag.

Not enough clothes for you or ds? If for ds I have loads of age 2-3 and 3-4 waiting to go to charity and would be more than happy to post you some. They are all handmedowns to us but good quality etc- ds just doesn't need 50 tops and 30 pairs of trousers!

Hello all :)

Been spectacularly crap today, stayed in bed with DS until almost lunchtime! Does seem to have paid off because he actually ate something today and settled down to sleep with only one re-settle needed which is a huge improvement on the last few days!

Freaky, I'm going to go for a larger handbag I think.

But I have loads to do today and no car as dh had 2 funerals to go to, so I will be in a rush this afternoon, and even though we are on midterm break girls still have dancing today & tomorrow arrggh, plus I promised a trip to cinema and go visit my nannie,

FreakoidOrganisoid · 15/02/2011 14:55

Well done on the return Plum.

Wasting will sort through and post to you Smile

No list today, slept really badly last night so just ticking over today.

JustKeepSwimming · 15/02/2011 16:13

Woohoo - laptop fixed!! Well mostly, have to try and reinstall backup from Time Machine to see if i can get all docs back but it's working & i can MN Grin

Anon - you're right, it was lovely :)
I didn't sleep but that was a combo of very soft bed & my dodgy pelvis/hips at the mo. We thought we'd definitely go back, after baby as there was room for a travel cot in our room & the boys really loved it. Stairs 'hidden' in a cupboard and window sills they could sit in, etc.
Saw birds & ducks on Sat (Pensthorpe wildlife park) & planes on Sun (Duxford Museum on the way home).
And we went to South Creake for the playground too :)

Rest of today:

  • Freecycle blinds; relist

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 15/02/2011 16:53

Good lord I am useless today. I am sooo tired, I just want to sleep. DS is a lot better, but still won't eat anything and I got really shouty with him, which then upset me. Nothing makes you feel more guilty than a sobbing toddler saying 'please don't cry Mummy' :(:(
Ended up ringing DH at work and sobbing down the phone, which I never do and I must apologise profusely later Blush

DONE
Drop repeat prescription in
TAKE PRESCHOOL FORM - no, tomorrow
Buy a card and present for friend's DD
Take DH suits to dry cleaners (remember to tell them one needs a hem taking up) - tried to, they are shut today
Cleaner here 11.45am
All usual

TO DO
Fold washing
DS tea
DH home in time to do bathtime?

Anonymousbird · 15/02/2011 17:28

Oh JKS, so pleased you enjoyed it. Woman after my own heart - Norfolk, Pensthorpe and Duxford are regular haunts of ours (you can use Tesco vouchers at BOTH those venues as well!!!!). We are only 15 mins from Duxford, my DC absolutely love it.

Ali - we've all been there! I've had plenty of those, so know how you feel, but don't feel bad about it.

I have a house full of children, it has been very very noisy, time to take them all home in five minutes. Phew.

List has been abandoned today.

See you tomorrow!

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 15/02/2011 17:53

Anon - i won an entry voucher for Pensthorpe off MN which inspired the whole trip :)
And we used our Tesco vouchers at Duxford - ideal really as it felt 'free' so we were happy to leave early as we were all freezing outside and didn't fancy staying much longer than we did. Would have felt obliged if we'd paid.

Ali - so been there! DH always says it's ok if i cry, or the kids cry, as long as it's only one at a time, lol! Haven't always stuck to that though Blush

Time Machine is doing its thing....taking a while though. But all in all, success on the IT front here :)
