Thank you! Blush Grin

Due early October. Just in time for DS first term at nursery which is a mile walk away. Hmm Confused

Ali, I think that will be the hardest bit, losing the evening again.

Must go to bed, I've been knackered for hours! Grin

Morning ladies.

Anyone know much about Turkey (the country)? We have a cultural day at school next week, and this year the country is Turkey and the children are encouraged to either take in relevant things, or dress up or whatever.... I've never been and don't know much, can only think of belly dancers and clearly not suitable for DS and DD would think I'd lost my faculties if I tried to dress her up in that!

Stumped.... Confused

Ah Turkey. Think Ephasus, Also Troy. Lots of early roman/greek remains, famous for temple of Artemis at Ephasus. Ephasus of course is also famous for early christianity as St Paul preached there and it is the alleged place where Mary lived to her old age. There is the tomb of King Mausel the original mauseleum near Bodrum( if I have spelt that right).
Also fabulous turkish baths, hot mud etc. Not to mention the bosphorus and Istanbul. Also supposed to be the placce where Noah's ark came to rest.

More recently Attaturk was the great political reformer who wanted to pull his country into the modern world. There you go...

Congrats Wasting! So your "sort of ttc" last week was actually "I'm already pg" Grin

Now will you all hurry up and find me a nice man so that I can make more babies too Wink

Where is Alice these days btw?

Need to get ds in a min, have steamed ahead so far this morning though.

What shall I make with the last of the roast chicken? Am going round in circles unable to make a decision! so far options are
a) risotto
b) pie
c) casserole
d) curry

I also have fresh carrots, mushrooms, asparagus and spinach and frozen peas and baby broad beans. And every type of pulse/grain that exists

Someone decide for me please!

Anonymousbird · 10/02/2011 12:03

Casserole!!!!

(Or pie, risotto or curry...)

Sorry I am no help, I love them all, though Casserole did kind of cry out from your list of ingredients.

Or pie filling.

Sorry

PlumBumMum · 10/02/2011 12:42

Morning everyone

WASTING CONGRATULATIONSEnvy

Anyway dd1 didn't get her injection yesterday, there was fluid around her joint when scanned so she has to get it down under GA, so all that hype for nothing although it did prove dd1 is no where near ready for getting anything down without GA as she just about let nurses do bloods!

Anyway I really need to catch up on housework and have a catch up on here
off to do lunch
tidy kitchen
put on a wash
set up new fax machine
clean out fire & set again

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 10/02/2011 13:32

Afternoon everyone :)

Plum - how annoying, but as you say at least they know that she still needs a GA for now.

Freak - I would do risotto with the asparagus, peas and baby broad beans. Mmmmmm.

Wasting - yes we've timed this baby to co-incide with DS starting pre-school. Feeling very relieved that I have him down for just afternoons for the first term, will give me a chance to get dressed!! Grin Ooh how exciting!

Well we were supposed to be at music class, but DS burst into tears over his lunch that he wasn't eating and asked to go to bed! Poor little sausage, I think he must be coming down with this cold. :( So he is fast asleep and I'm finishing my lunch in peace and quiet and then going to have a nap Grin

TODAY
All up and dressed - done
Spatone + vitamins
Breakfast and tidy kitchen - done
Midwife app. at hospital - done took the whole morning, we were waiting an hour
Make beds and tidy upstairs
Wipe over bathroom
Hoover and sweep downstairs if needed
Lunch and tidy kitchen - mostly done
DS nap - doing
Nap or certainly bed with my book
Dinner for me and DS (pizza)
DH home late
Clear up
DS bath and bed
Post DS-to-bed tidy
Kitchen clear before bed

JustKeepSwimming · 10/02/2011 14:50

This baby timed to coincide with DS starting at SN pre-sch Hmm could be in-ter-esting....

Have 'packed' emergency baby bag - well thrown in some basics, enough just to get me & baby dressed in hosp at least. And always find it easier to add to/change something than start from scratch, so can put bits in as i go now.

Leftover:

  • sort through dry baby clothes; In piles by type started putting in size piles now

pipplin · 10/02/2011 15:24

Hi all, have had horrid sinus headache this morning so havent really done a lot tbh. Not so good as I do have a lot to do.
I have sorted my blog out ish.

There will be a small gap but I think all age gaps bring their own pros and cons tbh. It will be lovely for them to grow up together. There is a much larger gap between my sibling and I. So this is all new to me.

Its so miserable and rainy here today. It's not helping my get up and go. Not much on the list today but then its getting late in the day now.
Hope everyone else isnt too put off by the rain.

To Do:
Tidy lounge
Wash up
Drink tea and eat a treacle tart Grin
Make dinner- balasmic pork with veg and mash

FreakoidOrganisoid · 10/02/2011 16:10

Conflicting dinner answers ladies, no blimmin use!

DS had two massive tantrums this afternoon. The second one he was stood on the doorstep refusing to move and I was getting soaked so I lost it a bit, shouted "just get inside" and picked him up by his hood and plonked him inside the house Blush Got a tut and a disapproving look from another mum, whoops.

Pipplin my two have 18 months between them, hard work sometimes but also play together really nicely and fight like mad. It's quite nice in a way to have them at fairly similar stages now.

Anonymousbird · 10/02/2011 16:49

What a day!!

The man came and took my doors at last so I have a wad of fifties - not seen any of those for years - burning a hole in my pocket

DH GOT A NEW JOB!!!!!!!!!! He's staying at the same company, but it's a new challenge in a new team and more money. He never thought he stood a chance but yesterday they said it was between him and one other... and today they offered it to him! I am so pleased for him, he's been bored and frustrated for ages and his boss and he clash in their styles somewhat so I think it is good for everyone..

Oh crikey Freaki, we've all been there - I was out with DS just the other day, he was daydreaming, as usual, it was going on and on and on, he wouldnt respond at all. In the end in front of everyone at rugby I just said "oh for goodness sake just wake up will you" and kind of tapped him on his arm at the same time and then realised I had said it louder than I realised Blush

I felt terrible. But it happens to everyone, even the very best of us Wink.

Morning ladies.

JKS - thanks for asking. A bit sore from time to time, but largely very good. It's only been two weeks, but he was back at work this week and seems to be coping fine.

He bumped into his brother on the way home from work last night, and fancied a celebratory pint or three with him and has a headache this morning!! Confused Hmm. If he stuck to a nice weak-ish bitter he'd be fine, but what do they drink when they get together??? Rocket fuel - Kronenburg all round. Bleugh
