Good luck today Ali. Smile

JKS, I googled it, but the best method I could see for covering a balloon is just to rip newspaper into strips, and cover each strip with watered down PVA glue and stick all over the balloon. The method where you smoosh it into a pulp would be just too messy atm, and not stick to the balloon so well I don't think.

  • shower and dress done
  • make beds and open windows done
  • breakfast doing
  • Oj, spatone + vits
  • kitchen - 15 mins
  • laundry - load in
  • strip beds done
  • hot air balloon project

  • friends for lunch
  • playgroup
  • tea
  • kitchen - 15 mins
  • rubbish and recycling out
  • tidy downstairs + hoover + playdough removal
  • DS bath and bed (DH)

To Do -

  • copy CDs onto hard-drive - last batch
  • e-tidy - emails, laptop, external hard-drive - cleared out and tidied up
  • clean front room window
  • clean front room curtains, and stitch extra onto bottom

diy-

  • polyfilla holes in ceiling kitchen
  • put new bulb for fridge in
  • replace downstairs door handles, who? how? how much?
  • shed - shelving - measure up
  • measure up bedroom for cupboard removal
  • bedroom window - clean, bleach and paint
minimammoth · 09/02/2011 09:02

Wasting brilliant done list. Most impressive. My method of paper mache is most primative. Mix plain flour and water until its a smooth paste add more water if its too stiff, lots of torn news paper, then layer up, glue, paper, glue, paper. I am sure you can probably buy clean news print which would be less mucky. Wasting has probably got a modern method up her sleeve.
Hope you feel better soon Ali

Morning! Hope you don't mind me popping in for the day. Have so much to do and little motivation but a great slattern thread always helps me to get on.
Today:
Hoover downstairs
Go to post office
Wash the baby's bottles
Start the mountain of washing up
Make lunch for 12
Ensure both DS and I are ready for 1

The temptation to ignore and cuddle up with DS instead is quite strong.
I'm off to start hoovering first!
Have a good day everyone.

Anonymousbird · 09/02/2011 09:45

Hello piplin, always welcome here!!

Ali - good luck today.

JKS - I have not been able to bring myself to watch OBEM, even though it's 5.5 years ago for me, and no prospect of going through it again, it would definitely give me the heeby jeebies and even more definitely would make me blub like a blubby thing! Which frankly is embarrassing and DH would larf at me! Blush

I am addicted to.... BIG FAT GYPSY WEDDINGS! Oh my oh my, it's my favourite ever (at the moment!). What a flippin hoot. I think I have one from last night on Sky Plus to watch. Even DH watches it, with his jaw on the floor. Outstanding TV.

Lunch for 12????? Eek. 12 people, or 12 o'clock?!?!

Pavlova - I am something of a novice, but I have used Delia's pavlova several times now and it turns out heavenly. Now a firm family favourite. "Dead cert" pud as it were.

I have a new tactic with my list, I put it up on the screen, realise how little is DONE I then blitz for say, 20-30 mins and feel very very satisfied indeed at adding the DONEs and then posting....

Grin JKS no...am 5'2. maybe I need to get up a ladder myself so the eligible men stop looking straight over the top of my head!

Anon that is a good method for getting stuff done. I am currently looking around my house in despair. Been out all morning and got back just in time to get ds from preschool. Next job I think has to be kitchen floor-it is covered in crumbs from ds' lunch and sticky from some spilt juice (last night Blush I did wipe it up but haven't yet mopped it-truly slatternly)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 09/02/2011 13:40

Afternoon all :)

Well, it kind of went ok. Baby is fine - and has turned, I thought it did yesterday! - but getting pretty big, just over 5lbs already is the estimate! Shock
In my cold-ridden state I got a bit tearful, the guilt is here already :(
Still no decision made VBAC vs. ELCS, and I have another scan and consultant app. in 2 weeks.
Just want it all to be done and dusted now - roll on the end of March!

My lovely, lovely friend came and looked after DS and stayed for lunch, and she helped me clear up before she left so I have a lovely tidy, crumb-less house rather than a disaster zone :)

TO DO
Take sausages out of the freezer
Ring Mum
Sneeze x 20
Chill with DS
Make some mash for dinner

FreakoidOrganisoid · 09/02/2011 14:09

Good news Ali Smile

Hope Plums dd1 has got on ok too.

I still haven't done the floor Blush

pipplin · 09/02/2011 15:48

Justkeeponswimming I am behind you ladies am 17 weeks with number 2 who is erm 7 months Blush

Ali- I dont really know the background but Im so pleased the baby has turned for you. DS didnt turn until late.

Anonymousbird 12 Oclock, sorry should of said!

I have dusted and cleaned one leather sofa and footstool.
I also looked at houses for us to rent and DP disregarded the two I found. :( Sigh
2 neighbours just stood and spoke about our house outside my front door where I can see them. Single Glazing isnt sound proof. < teent, tiny bit hormonal>

Today:
Hoover downstairs done
Go to post office done They wanted £5.15 for special delivery. That's bonkers! I'm sure it never used to be that much.
Put a load in the machine done

To Do

Dirty kitchen floors?? Crumbs annoying you under foot.

LOOK NO FURTHER!!!!!

Labrador for rent to sort out the problem, as good as new once she has done her work. Wink.

Who was teasing me the other day about my very frequent wine deliveries?

Well, the wine delivery to end all wine deliveries arrived today.
PIL's (who I have probably mentioned are right old soaks) did a morning trip to France, and at 1pm rolled on to my drive with an estate car FULL of wine. They don't have a garage or shed to store it in, so guess what? I now have 180 bottles of wine in my garage. Shock. 24 for me (I have to pay for them despite providing free storage) the rest for them.

MIL's parting comment was "OO, shouldn't need to go again for about 3 months now"!

THREE MONTHS?!?!?!?!?! Didn't she mean at least SIX??How do their livers survive??

Congratulations Wasting!
Thanks Anonymous. I have a feeling the first year will be hard but hey. All be worth it. Bring it on!
I've not really done much more since earlier :( alas I shall return bright and early tomorrow to resume the tasks in hand.

Good night all. I'm off to finish that shortbread

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 09/02/2011 21:41

Anon - my Dad has got about 400 bottles at home, it is bonkers. But he never runs it down really, many are laid down for future consumption/for special occasions etc. I think he and Mum drink about 4 bottles a week on average which I guess isn't too bad (between them that is!)
Your PILs must be drinking 50 bottles a month though at that! Shock

Wow pipplin that is a small gap! It is bound to be hard, but then you are done with all the baby bit all at once I suppose? I think DH and I are going to find it quite a shock again to lose our evenings and full night's sleep!

DONE
