Hello everyone
Thought I'd better update to January given that my baby is now one month old and hadn't arrived when the last thread was begun!! Can you believe a month has already passed!

Morning all

Today is my day off and at the beginning of the week I had planned to have a nice relaxing time, catching up on soaps, reading my book and maybe even going to the gym... then the week happened.

So my list of jobs to do today

  • DD to school - Done
  • Shopping - Done
  • Wait in for parcel - Would be annoyed but I have treated myself to an iphone and this is the parcel - Sooooo excited!!
  • English work
  • Science work
  • Maths test
  • Essay
  • Write CV for school placement
  • Get photos taken for school placement
  • Write introductory letter for school placement
  • Do some filing before DH bursts a blood vessel
  • Book cinema tickets for DH and DD for Sunday - It is Tinkerbell
  • Find out what time Fifi is appearing in Meadowhall tomorrow (Bribery from earlier in week - promised to take and now regretting)
  • Post parcel - Done
  • Book online shop to be delivered over weekend
  • Sort out the bomb damage (AKA DD) in the lounge)
  • Pick up DD
  • Finish sorting out spare room
  • Go to cousins party this evening - leaving party as is joining the army
  • 2 loads of washing
  • try and find out where water leak is coming from

Should be nice and relaxing then (Faints)

Hope you are all well, sounds like you have all had busy days. Don't envy house renovations and complicated pick ups - I get stressed with arrangements for things sometimes and I only have one

well....today going OK, but not much flying done Hmm

have managed to dust downstairs and Dc rooms and hoover throughout, although still need to do our room and stairs...

have also finally remembered to bring ds car seat in and adjust the straps...and swept out various debris collected under the seat whilst doing so!

Ds2 has been in whingy mood today...so has taken lots of entertaining! Thankfully though he is now napping Grin
dd2 has friend coming for tea....need to do some quick kitchen cleaning before that, and reboot laundry...

But ...my new laptop has arrived Grin so need to play with that for a bit fist!!

pizza and wine for me and dh tonight...have been good all week so feel we deserve it! Have also finally plucked up courage to weigh myself for the first time since begining of Dec and am quite poleased to discover I have lost anoither 9lb Grin so not as bad as I feared! Have now lost 2 stone 10 lbs since last July Grin and have about another 1 1/2 to go Hmm.....

also need to hoover car out at some point...will that happen before school pick up I wonder.....

right...BBL Grin

swanriver · 21/01/2011 21:59

not sure about today Hmm

on the whole just about passable Grin

I cannot believe you lost 2 stone OFM
I mean I do believe it, just it shows you are not standing still for a moment Shock
or are giving all those delicious meals to the children and not eating any yourself!

Star hope the council shows some sense. Round here they allow pvc windows everywhere, paved over front gardens, houses turned into inappropriate flats, hideous porches and then some poor houseowner wants to slightly alter roofline and bam! NO...

OverflowingMum · 22/01/2011 07:28

morning all

star all the building stuff sounds so stressful, hope it all resoves OK

swan glad you survived yesterday!
the 2 stone 10lb wieght loss is in total since last July...so has been done gradually! I was aiming for a constant 2 lb a week, which would have been more by now , but December was a big blip LOL I am however now re-motivated to get on with it and loose the last 1 1/2!! (and yes, depressingly I really was that much overweight to start with! Blush)

right...well... had a nice evening with wine and pizza last night (night off diet LOL)
I have volunteered for early shift this morning, and of course despite sleeping till gone 7 every school morning DS2 decided to wake at 6.00 on Saturdays Hmm

quite a bit to do today.... a quick list to organise myself:
Washing - load on, clean away, more on etc...
clean kitchen
ice and decorate buns for tomorrow
make dd4 bday cake ( will be simple one...this is her third LOL)
menu plan for next week]shopping list then shopping
print off and fill in nannytax forms
take dd3 and 4 to activity club
sort out and organise diary

right...BBL Grin

wendyhappysmile · 22/01/2011 15:40

quick fly by!
I never manage to home bless in an hour ... takes me that long to tidy up! LOL
back later

OP posts:
swanriver · 22/01/2011 16:39

OFM yes odd that...today everyone was up v.early..despite having to be dragged out on school mornings.

lazy day after busy morning - too cold outside for me to feel in slightest bit energetic

It is sooo lovely having a tidy bedroom...I just want to stay here all day LOL...

Makingchanges · 22/01/2011 16:47

OFM i'm Envy of your weight loss. I just can't get motivated to eat helthy when I am stressed or home late so never get very far.

Swan - am also Envy over your tidy bedroom - DD trashs ours every morning - she truly is a whirlwind.

Party was good last night but DD didn't get to bed until midnight Shock - didn't wake her up for dance class this morning so we all slept in till after 10.

I have spent most of morning finishing off my list and tidying up office area (actually looking for a DVD I've lost)

Now have a massive headache so think i'm going to have a night in front of tell and early bed.

Back tomorrow or monday - Have a good weekend all

OverflowingMum · 22/01/2011 17:44

evening all
am soooo tired.
Made some progress though today...

Cupcakes decorated and look pretty! Have decided that dd doesnt really need yet ANOTHER bday cake, so am arranging cupcakes on a stand with candles in the top ones instead!

also done lots of washing...still ongoing though

and fitted in a food shop in horrendous packed supermarket Sad

But I have a very painful back/shoulder..down to carrying DS2 too much...must remember to make him walk and not give in to his insisting to be picked up...I have had this before...but it is V sore today!
I didnt manage to go for a run either Sad due to a combination of lack of time, general exhuastion and sore shoulder...WILL go tomorrow though...

right....must dash...chaos upstairs
bbl Grin

scattyspice · 22/01/2011 18:15

Fantastic weight loss ofm! I sympathise with the sore back/shoulder. DD nearly crippled me before she would walk without a fuss. she still asks for carries now and she is nearly 6!!

Wendy I do the house bleugh around the mess LOL

mc hope dd recovered from her late night.

swan Are you still in your tidy bedroom?

star hi

Not done much today. I did notice that DS had written in his homework that a verb to describe what Mums do is DRINK Shock. He tells me that he looked up and I was drinking a cup of tea so he put drink. Goodness only knows what his teacher will make of it!

My birthday tomorrow. DD said that last year I was 40 so this year I must be 50!!

OverflowingMum · 22/01/2011 18:42

OH scatty happy bday for tomorrow Grin LOL at DS and "drink!" when dd3 went for her assessment re her Aspergers ...in one of the psychology tests she was asked " tell me a drink that comes in a bottle" and she immediately said "wine" LOL but as psychologist then said, the correct answer was milk, but no-one really gets milk in "bottles" anymore LOL

Makingchanges · 23/01/2011 09:53

Morning all - Happy Birthday Scatty

Am logging on whilst enjoying a sausage sandwich (Don't tell DH) Didn't get to bed until 1.30 after sorting out all my paperwork (and still hadn't quite finished then) and DH woke me up again at 3am when he came in so I'm exhausted.

Todays jobs

  • Online shop for week
  • Finish off last bit of paperwork
  • Maths task
  • Finish off English task - Spend all day on this on Friday - Hoping to get rid today
  • Washing, Washing and more washing
  • Gym at lunchtime (To work off the sausage sandwich)
  • Shops on way home from gym for a new pair of jeans - This is what nowadays constitutes a treat [hmmm]

DH and DD off to see Tinkerbell at cinema this morning and Swimming this afternoon so am hoping for an hour with my book this afternoon.

Hope everyone has a fabby day - BBL

Starbear · 23/01/2011 10:27

DS's bed stripped done
To do
Update this weeks chart
Book art class for next saturday

25 mins make the place tidy
Homework with DS
Ironing (Yeah! right!)
Take ds to party
Find out about Judo for Ds
tea have meat balls in Freezer oh! I must get them out of the freezer
have a great day everyone Bear

swanriver · 23/01/2011 17:15

still feeling utterly slow/unable to function today - you are right Scatty dh had to prise me from the bedroom to help with kids, and then I wandered around Homebase on a special pass, like zombie looking at tiles (all horrid Sad

took kids swimming though
dh cooked lunch [excitement!!!LOL)

need to take kids to church now as they are altar serving...source of stress...

Monday I have a day off from the builder, and might be able to get everything sorted out in absence of family and builder LOL...
We are back to the drawing board as far as trying new solutions to storage chaos, and it is sooo difficult to pin dh down. He keeps saying things airily like "oh, just get a cabinet made for there" Confused or worse still, "it's my weekend I don't want to think about that today - who cares"

Then he trips over mess and gets cross...
Must now think about supper. Mcdonald's?

swanriver · 23/01/2011 17:17

Star Chart sounds rather medical LOL, blood pressure and all that....
any chart in this house would show worrying peaks and troughs...Hmm

OverflowingMum · 23/01/2011 19:45

evening all

day went ok...
Party lunch for dd4 with cousin went well, then all played quite happily for the afternoon.
I did a major 2 hour cleaning blitz this morning ( in anticipation of sister's arrival LOL) so house not looking too bad.
I now just need to catch up with some washing...

I did manage to drag myself out for a run - and I managed 6 miles Grin My first proper long run since my Decemeber blip LOL
Am going to treat myself to a couple of jaffa cakes in recogniotion of my effort!

mc hope you got some nice jeans

swan McDs sounds a good option - hope you enjoy your builder free day tomorrow.

star art class sounds good - is that for you or ds?

scatty HAPPY BDAY! hope you had a fab day!

swanriver · 23/01/2011 21:56

ohh we miss the cousins...OFM sounds like a most successful day - and six miles Shock
were you a runner at school too?

Feel much refreshed by church and Mcdonalds, and was able to do a lot of Thinking.

The playroom needs to be junk/homework bag repository not hall.
Dd's desk needs to be hall table.
The kitchen needs to be free of paperwork.
The dressing up box needs to go, and become sports box.
The new bathroom tiles need to be plain cheap rectanglar white with smart green edging
Ds1's bookcase needs to be turned into the kitchen shelving.
The bathroom chest of drawers needs to be in dd's room ....and so on ad infinitum

essential washing for tomorrow done
and dh has done the quick blitz which means I don't want you complaining about housework...Grin
it will look considerably worse in the morning, but can't be bothered to clean anything now Hmm

OverflowingMum · 24/01/2011 18:49

evening all

swan LOL at thinking, sound productive! And, nope, I was definitely NOT a runner at school! Used to hide with my friend behind a bush on the cross country course! In fact have NEVER run until last July, then did the couch to 5K approach and just kept going! I have actually surprised myself by how much I like it! I am really slow, but am working on increasing my distance rather than thinking about speed. I love that you can just put your running shoes on and go, easy to fit in around family etc...and I especially love that I get 30 mins - 1 hour by myself , in peace and quiet and can think about all sorts whilst running!

right...well, busy day at work....
Nanny seems to have gone OK...still bits and pieces to sort with her...but one step at a time and all that!

house not too bad...need to do some washing in never ending washing crisis.....

and need to eat...not sure what LOL
am really tired though, so early night I think, plus I have had a strange pain in my left side all dayConfused...woke with it and it hasnt really gone away...am ignoring it for now...hopefully will be gone by tomorrow !LOL

right...hope everyone has had good days...bbtomorrow Grin

scattyspice · 24/01/2011 19:07

Hi all.

Had a lovely birthday except DD ate too much, swallowed a penny and was sick on the swing Hmm.

Done:
ds to Drs (no cure for nose bleed)
thank you cards
post cheque
emergency ironing
all set for tomorrow

Hope you had a productive day swan

Hope the pains gone ofm

Hope you got some good jeans MC (It is my lifes mission to find the 'perfect' jeans).

Art class for you or DS star?

Starbear · 24/01/2011 19:58

Evening all Art class for Ds Sad

wendyhappysmile · 24/01/2011 21:09

hello all
OFM Party looked lovely, saw pics on Facebook.
swan hope your day off from builders good!
scatty happy birthday for yesterday!

We are ok here, except for gunky eyes which I'm hoping is just a virus. Seeing how it goes before rushing to Doctors!

BB tomorrow

OP posts:
swanriver · 24/01/2011 22:32

oh poor dd I bet she didn't mean to eat the penny -perhaps she thought it was chocolate coin

OFM taking a leaf out your book, I've done lots of walking today (don't think I dare run - I might rattle) to and from Scouts (back and forth six times I kid you not)as Ds1 is now Scouts and Ds2 first time to Cubs, and car seems to be on the blink again Hmm

productive decluttering, homebless nope, chose the nice cheap green tile trim...then unfortunately dh looked in Topps catalogue and decided we should have stripes of blue, white, purple and mocha Confused Don't think the builder will like that....On the other hand more important to keep dh interested Grin
