Morning all Morning OFM Think I would be really bored and pissed off with snow by now. We just have heavy rain & I washed my hair! Put DS in wellies so he would not have wet feet all morning then his welly flopped off and he has a wet sock!Hmm
I was also a lovely Mummy as I dashed back to school with something he wanted at school but we forgot to put in his school bag.Smile
Have been saying the mantra 'Do put it in the bag the night before, when he mentioned it!!!' all the way home.
Big food shop done
Right after tea break do the following
Empty W/M into Dryer
re-boot W/M
Make DS's packed snack for after swimming
Get Swimming gear sorted now!
Clean fridge lots of odd things still in there! 3 week old Marrow (I'm the only one that likes it! Christmas pudding, Ham & various moldy veg! yukky.
make beds
fake clean the bathroom
That should do it for now. I'm going to be out of the house all weekend at the Police Children's Christmas Party. This might be the last year due to money problems Sad

Makingchanges · 07/01/2011 11:45

OFM its not set to last - will turn to rain later and be washed away.

Focusing on essay again today so no flying - just popped in to catch up and say hi whilst on a break

DD3 and 4 doing puzzles in old comics, DD1 knitting (with renewed enthusiasm)Grin and DD2 watching TV Hmm

have done lunch, tidied, DW on...
Rebooted laundry...again

now am going to order big food shop...then last bits for DD4 bday (next Friday Shock)
Have just discovered there are less calories in Breakaway biscuit than in the low fat greek yoghurt I just had Confused
LOL

Right...BBLGrin

Makingchanges · 07/01/2011 13:18

Lunch break - Have printed a rainforest off in reading - but really struggling to get motivated.

OFM just walked to Sainsburys and its just really slippery but yep more sleety now - it won't keep you from running for long.

OK a few more hours on essay before DD comes home then

  • tidy bathroom (didn't get done earlier in week)
  • Hoover up playdough that DD 'hide' when playing lasy night -she also hid the hoover. I've only just found it.
  • Do an inventory of freezer to help me menu plan this weekend for next week - need to try and save money so am planning on making healthy meals from freezer
  • Make tea - Not sure between fish kebab and bacon and tomato pasta
  • Parcel up package that was broken when delivered yesterday for dh totake to post office cos its huge!

Right sandwich eaten - back to it

Starbear · 07/01/2011 14:38

Makingchanges · 09/01/2011 14:25

Afternoon all,

Just been out for a lovely lunch and had a much needed lie in this morning but now back to the dreaded essay. I have until Friday to complete - hope it won't take that long then I will be back to flying.

Good luck for the interview OFM

grouchyoscar · 09/01/2011 16:58

Hello again ALL and it's great to see you all again.

The ankle is doing OK. The wound where they went in to pin and plate it is more painful than the break. The bones are healing well and the pot stays until the end of the month. Not putting weight on it is annoying and DH not allowing me to do ANYTHING is frustrating.

So I have to sneak around to do stuff. Today I have

Organised 2 loads of laundry
Loaded and run WM
Introduced DS to Romeo and Juliet
Put matress protector on
Put fresh pillow cases on

I'm gong to organise DS's Uniform and PE kit. (while no one is watching)

It's good to be back, I've missed you all [wnk]

OverflowingMum · 09/01/2011 17:27

evening all. Thanks for the good luck wishes.

Am quite stressed!
Tomorrow : Girls fist day back at school, first day of leaving DS2 with New Nanny (he has been at home with us for 4 weeks now, so will be a shock to him.) AND my job interview aaaarrrgggghh Still havent decided which job to go for if I get the choice Confused

Have attempted to spend the day reading through relevant stuff...but hard to know what to read!
Have then instead been and bought new eye shadow (as clearly essential for interview success) and tried on new suit with correct blouse and shoes, and painted nails...so at least I'll look the part Wink
Have also been on mercy dash for swimming costume for dd2 (DD2:"you know Mummy how we go swimming in Y4, well I am starting on Monday" me:"when did you find out, have you got a letter?" DD2: " I have sort of lost the letter, we got it before Christmas" me: isnt your swimming costume too small" dd2 "yes" me: "aaaaarrrrrggghhhh" etc...LOL)
Am now going to have some dinnner...DH has stepped in and fed the DC ... then think I may need a glass of wine as I didnt sleep a wink last night....

will bbtomorrow if I survive the day!Wink

scattyspice · 09/01/2011 18:27

wendyhappysmile · 10/01/2011 09:29

Hi all
A new thread was requested weekly but as this one is only 3 pages it doesn't seem any point! Sure we can all follow a thread this length Grin

Morning!
Feeling guilty, a friend just invited me for lunch but really don't feel like it and have put her off - now worried that anti social tendencies are post natal depression - I keep thinking about all the horrid things that could happen to Baby DS as well. I am obsessed with PND, had it with both other two but particularly DD, didn't seek help but struggled through it so am always looking for signs now.

Going for a short nap b4 Baby DS wakes up. Very tired didn't get to bed til after midnight - last feed seemed to take a very long time!

OP posts:
swanriver · 10/01/2011 12:10

Wendy I was very lucky not to have PND, and I know I was obsessed about bad things happening to my babies, I think that is completely normal. Something so precious, why wouldn't one be thinking about them all the time?
The only thing that got me through was getting out..It seemed to be bliss to be in someone else's house, not to have to worry about all the things I was supposed to be doign in my own Wink I used to look forward to NCT meetups so much (I was obviously very sad and lonely...Hmm Perhaps you are expecting your friends to expect you to be full of beans hale and hearty and don't want to let them down by not being life and soul, but I'm sure they don't mind if you are just very low key. I think it's all right to osay regularily to oneself, I can't cope I can't cope and that is almost proof that one is coping. xxx

swanriver · 10/01/2011 13:32

Right, I have now tried out 4 tester pots of paint on the hallway, includng a rather strong pink Hmm and am none the wise Confused

painter is here, talking about poetry!

sink is full of horrors..must press on.

swanriver · 10/01/2011 13:46

Wendy have been thinking some more, and remember feelng v down with twins. Not in an obvious way, just sort of LOCKDOWN where you can't face people, don't have energy to do anything except survive.
Remember old friend of family wanted to see twins at bathtme one eve when they were about six weeks (as she worked in day)I remember just not even ringing her back; I just couldn't face her. I don't thnk I ever rang her back, I just blotted out the entire incident and never got round to inviting her again.Blush It all seems odd now, but at time you do what you need to survive.

scattyspice · 10/01/2011 16:13

swan you sum up that post baby feeling so well. The sad part is the tendancy to feel guilty for feeling low and to put pressure on yourself to 'enjoy' it. I think half the problem is the utter exhaustion from weeks of sleep deprivation, it adds up. This time of year doesn't help. Go easy on yourself wendy.

Done:
floors
reboot laundry

To do:
wash up
put clothes away
start tea

wendyhappysmile · 10/01/2011 20:45

Thank you swan and scatty
It's the flu that's around that is scaring me from going out as well, everyone you speak to is ill - why would I want to go to their houses when one of them is ill! I don't think I'm being paranoid, just sensible!

swan that sounds just right, even small things like visitors at bathtime become large post baby.
OFM just seen Facebook, congratulations on getting the job!!! which one did you go for?
