Remember Remember, Fledglings Fly through November

DidEinsteinsMum · 28/10/2010 23:58

Welcome to the November Fledgling Flying thread.

From the 1st of the month we shall be decluttering and taming the chaos using baby steps, missions and zones. A great big thank you to MrsDinky who looked after us last month.

We are not strict followers of the fat fairy and take some of the babysteps wearing shoes indoors with a pinch of salt. Also advise against signing up for the fairy's emails.

All are welcome, jump on board for one of our three methods of chaos attack:

  1. Baby steps
  2. Baby steps and 15mins decluttering in current zone
  3. Re-inforce the baby steps and daily mission

This month the fat fairy is gearing up for the feastive period. So I shall also post the christmas mission for those who wish are brave enough to look.

In here the motto is:

*"No perfection! Do what you can, but be realistic about what you can do."

Happy flying.

Hello all

I have been lurking a bit.

Fat fairy following has been like a diet for me - it can be quite hard to maintain.

After decluttering and getting good routines etc it has slowly diminished with seasonal activities, running my mini business (from Sept) and dare I say weather (- less inclined to declutter to garage).

Oct half termn blew away my routine and finally this last week I have been poorly can't remember the last time I s&s daily and washing is done late at night for the next day!

I will read up on what you all up too - don't mind my silly long lists - I'm babystepping plus intensive bursts!

DeckTheIceWithDragonsAndHolly · 23/11/2010 09:20

Thank you for thoughts about the funeral on Friday. It was a lovely service and absolutely packed out which was no more than such a lovely man deserved. Toffeefudgecake · 23/11/2010 13:28

You are a very busy lot today!

I managed to get to bed by 11.30, but was woken at 4.30ish by DS2 (scared of monsters) and then again at 6.30, so not exactly the 8 hours I'd been hoping for.

Today's list:

School run done
Washing up done
Washing on done
B/fast and pills and chat with MIL done
Booked hair appt for MIL done
Swish and swipe done
Decluttered cupboard ready for new tumbledrier done - two dustbin bags of junk!
Hoovered cupboard done
Lunch
School run
New tumbledrier installed
Use new tumbledrier
Make pasta sauce
Peel potatoes
Go out for evening with BF, leaving DH to cook dinner and put DC to bed Grin

Tomorrow will be laundry day in this house.

Good luck with your lists everyone. Especially good to see you back, Bob, but hope you are not doing too much.

pushmepullyou · 23/11/2010 13:47

Oh help. I have done nothing but the paid work, and only half of that, and I have to go pick DD up in half an hour Shock.

Better get my fast slippers lace up shoes on!

elliepac · 23/11/2010 20:19

Jeez, you lot are scaring the life out of me. My measly list looks like this:-

Tidied downstairs
Drying
Cooked dinner
Watched tv

And that, as they say, is thatGrin. I still have nothing useful to say and, for that matter, nothing interesting to say! I went to work, I came home. Oh apart from we had a shocking quote from a plumber for a job in the bathroom. I am in the wrong job! Oh and the final ofsted report came through and we got good with outstanding features! Yay!

Big waves to everyone and a warm welcome back to bob, good to see things have calmed down a bit.

MiniMarmite · 23/11/2010 20:27

Hi Ladies

Well I'm not caught up with thread, sleep, housework or anything really and DH is going back to work tomorrow. Both DSs have colds Sad.

I've just done a tidy up as the cleaners are coming tomorrow. The washing had descended into chaos so DH took it all to be service washed at the laundrette Blush and is now putting it all away Blush.

I think my Mum is going to visit tomorrow so that will be a big help. If I can get through the following I will be pleased:

  • take boys out while cleaners are here
  • make lunch for DS1 and me if Mum not visiting
  • put DS2 down for nap
  • put DS1 down for nap
  • put me down for nap
  • play with DS1
  • feed DS2 as needed (i.e. all day!)
  • get fish and chips
  • tidy away food things after lunch and dinner
  • have vague conversation with DH
  • go to bed

I'm aware that none of this is actually classed as flying Wink but I will try to shine my sink!

Goodnight x

Stillconfounded · 23/11/2010 20:39

Same here Ellie

Don't have much to report.

I'm working.
I'm doing one load of washing a day.
I'm doing my morning and evening routines.
I'm shopping and cooking to make a reasonably nutritious supper every night.
I'm supervising homework and replying to school notes.

That's it.

I am not decluttering, preparing for Christmas, tackling the ironing pile, doing any paperwork, sorting out roof or basement, tidying up my master bedroom, doing any of the missions, doing any significant home improvements, preparing my school volunteering art stuff, or MAKING ANY SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS ON ANY FRONT!!! And meanwhile, my diary is filling up with medical appts, school appts, work appts, social appts .....

Aaarrrggghhh!! And I'm worried about dh (usually so calm and unflappable) who was so stressed today at work that his hands were shaking (I think/hope he's drunk too much coffee)

Apart from that, all fine!! Grin Bear Grin Sorry ladies - I know I am always whinging! 'Tis lovely to be able to vent on here. Just have to remind myself that November/early December is always like this and I love Christmas really!!

Lovely to have you back Bob btw - take it steady!

Humungous waves to everyone else!

Stillconfounded · 23/11/2010 20:42

Mini-M you are doing brilliantly to get all that done with a baby to look after and both dc with colds too!

Hope your mum coming means you can get a bit of rest!

Stillconfounded · 23/11/2010 20:43

Any spare chocolate eclairs going free Feetheart?

Ihatecobwebs · 23/11/2010 20:56

Evening ladies

My list today has been pitiful, and I'm admitting defeat and going to crawl to bed, and hope I feel better in the morning.

Done
Morning routine
DS to playgroup
2 hours at local school helping with a mosaic project (I was cornered last Friday, as they did not have enough parents who volunteered, and I don't even have a child there Confused)
Tidied living room, kitchen and bathroom
Washing on line
S/S
Lunch
Collect DS
Afternoon with very unhappy DS, as he was having a friend round to play this afternoon (hence quick tidies this morning Grin, but his mummy was ill so had to cancel.
WI paperwork while he watched Fireman Sam DVD
Walked around village delivering WI stuff (DS in pushchair as I didn't want him to get overtired as he's still getting over his cold)
Washing on airer
Cook tea
Tea
Washing up
Bedtime routine
Evening routine

I'm not even going to upset myself by looking at the remaining items on the list - just going to make a cup of tea and go to bed.

DeckTheIceWithDragonsAndHolly · 23/11/2010 21:16

Evening. Did the usualy just about school run crash and got very little else done this afternoon/evening.

I plan to be asleep asap. I am shattered but have a half made bed that is covered in half folded clothes.

Wednesday reminders: Antiprocrastination DAY

Afternoon Routine Babystep

Missions

Christmas Missions

Right off to find my bed. Night all!

pushmepullyou · 23/11/2010 21:29

Evening all Smile

Well I have more or less finished my list (although it was pitifully short!) plus cleared up sick and disinfected the kitchen .

Poor DD I think (hope!) it is just a flemmy cold as she perked up after about half an hour and was last seen chasing DH up and down the landing shouting 'I'm going to get you daddy!' I have a sick phobia so am hoping it's not that start of anything more dramatic. Fingers crossed for a peaceful night....
