Remember Remember, Fledglings Fly through November

DidEinsteinsMum · 28/10/2010 23:58

Welcome to the November Fledgling Flying thread.

From the 1st of the month we shall be decluttering and taming the chaos using baby steps, missions and zones. A great big thank you to MrsDinky who looked after us last month.

We are not strict followers of the fat fairy and take some of the babysteps wearing shoes indoors with a pinch of salt. Also advise against signing up for the fairy's emails.

All are welcome, jump on board for one of our three methods of chaos attack:

  1. Baby steps
  2. Baby steps and 15mins decluttering in current zone
  3. Re-inforce the baby steps and daily mission

This month the fat fairy is gearing up for the feastive period. So I shall also post the christmas mission for those who wish are brave enough to look.

In here the motto is:

*"No perfection! Do what you can, but be realistic about what you can do."

Happy flying.

Cleared the ironing basket!! Whoohoo!

pushmepullyou · 17/11/2010 16:26

Welcome back PA Smile glad the surgery went well. I think it is only to be expected that you are exhausted though! Keep your DH cleaning and tdying for a while yet!

DancingIceDragons · 17/11/2010 17:34

I would like to second what PMPY said. PA take it easy and let DH take the housework strain for a bit. rest up.

Ds is already in bed [bicuit] He has gone mad with the wind again and in combination with having had a couple of late nights it is really not a fun mix. So he has spent an hour in the bath and had tea in bed and is currently reading. sleep meds have already been plied. i predict him asleep by about 6:30pm.

Flying to is going to be restricted to entering information into the calanders bought for next year. I have learnt from previous years and calanders for ds MUST come with the birthdays ext already entered else i will end up with tears and doing this christmas day Hmm he is a little ocd when it comes to schedules, timetables and calanders.

Evening one and all.

Feeling proud of myself today because I have.........drum roll please....... washed up after dinner. Some of you may mock myrather lowly achievement but compared to how things have been recently that is major progress Grin.

pa so lovely to 'see' you. Glad to hear that DH is stepping up and I hope you start to feel a little better soon.

bob sending lot of love and thoughts your way.

I too am a little overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of us little fledglings at the moment so I will just have to wave to you all in the hope that you will forgive me! (I am aiming to catch up tonight)

Have no other plans tonight. Have just found Sister Act on the TV so am going to watch that whilst lurking around on mn. Might pop back later.

MrsDinky · 17/11/2010 22:59

Well done Ellie - I took one look at the kitchen tonight and pleaded weak and feeble to DH, who offered to do it while I watched The Apprentice, top marks to DH.

Special hugs for Bob and her family, also PA and hers.

I'm struggling a bit with keeping track of everyone as well, and found the roundups hard work last month, maybe now there are so many of us we should make do with just doing a bit of rounding up each when we have time so it doesn't all fall to DEM or whoever is doing the links. Having said that, I am too tired tonight!

Have had a nice evening though, started badly with the DCs who are often on a knife edge of tiredness at school pickup time, the slightest thing upsets them and I'm not always very tolerant of being bawled out for the fact that I forgot to count how many foreign cars I saw that day or I parked on the wrong side of the road, so we had tears before we even got home from school.

However I decided to get them to do some junk modelling before tea, and they produced a lovely bus and train to go in the school art week competition

With that I'm off to bed, night all.

MrsDinky · 18/11/2010 11:04

Cross, cross, MrsD is cross. We got to school and had to walk along a path to the door past a boy that has been picking on DS oveer the last few weeks, boy thumped DS, who retaliated, I told him to leave it, boy did it again, DS retaliated, boy's mum nowhere to be seen, luckily the door opened then and we went in. It's not heavy punches or anything but it is nasty and I don't like it.

Then I noticed the diamond was missing from my engagement ring, so all Flying is hereby postponed while I conduct a fingertip search of the house. Grrr.

DancingIceReindeer · 18/11/2010 11:12

Oh dear MrsD. That's not the best way to start the day. I hope you find it.

MrsDinky · 18/11/2010 11:18

I've found it! On the front door mat, was just going out to look in the car. phew.

No excuse for not hoovering now though Grin.

MiniMarmite · 18/11/2010 11:45

Morning All,

What a morning MrsD, so glad you found your diamond.

Right, some low-key flying for me:

  • iron a few clothes so I have something other than pyjamas/tracksuit to wear.
  • take cakes/biscuits out of freezer for afternoon visitors in order to look like domestic goddess (Wink)
  • take dinner out of freezer
  • hoover kitchen and living room middle bits
  • put on washing and hang out (unless DH gets there first)
  • kitchen tidying and sink shining after dinner
  • change duvet cover following nappy changing incident!

I think that is all for now. So glad that PA and Bob's DD are on the mend, still thinking of both x.

Have a good day all, sorry for lack of personal messages.

elliepac · 18/11/2010 13:38

Afternoon everyone,

Unexpected afternoon at home here. Unfortunately, poor CM's dad was rushed into hospital this morning so I have had to come home early to look after DD as no-one else was available. Am trying therefore to do a bit of a catch-up and also spend some nice time with DD. So far we have done colouring, made our lunch and we are about to bake some cakes!

Have also managed to:

put washing on
put drier on
Tidy downstairs
Do washing up
Vacuum downstairs

Am going to:-

S/S and tidy bathroom
Tidy DC's bedroom
Pick DS up (first time I have done so at his new school, not entirely sure where I am going!)
Cook dinner
Sort washing
Evening routine

So pleased to see on the other thread that bob's dd is improving and also relieved to hear pa is on the mend.

mrsd what a horrible morning you've had.

mm a domestic goddess with a 2 week old Wink. I bow to your superiority.

dir have you had some of that caffeine you requested on fb because you are racing away today!

highlighter the other night i actually got my phone and recorded DH's snoring to prove to him how horrific it is and why he should stop being offended when he wakes up and I have sneaked down onto the sofa. He always feel affronted because he didn't think it was that bad! Mission accomplished

Better go, DD is tugging at me to go and do the baking!

sittinghippo · 18/11/2010 14:21

Just checking in, a lot to catch up on and will read through properly later. Has been a hectic few days chez Hippo, lots of family drama that is thankfully starting to sort itself out now.

Glad to hear op was a success PA. Smile
Warmest wishes to Bobs DD.

Waves to everyone... I've missed you!!
