Welcome to the October 2010 Fledgling Flying thread!

This is where from the 1st of the month, we attempt to declutter and follow the 30-step wisdom of the Fat Fairy, with lots of chat and support and mutual motivation along the way. (More info available here!

Many thanks to our September thread leader StillCounting for guiding us through the traumatic back to work and school period with lots of support and guidance!

As usual we will be following a three-pronged approach (and don't worry - we are all at different stages):

  • repeat or start baby steps (again!)
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone

or

  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering.

Together we can do it! All newcomers welcome!

Me first, me first Yay even before its been linked. How enthusiastic am I?? Grin

Obviously not enthusiastic to get the house sorted, just to keep up with all you lovely bunch Smile

Dartshasbegun · 29/09/2010 16:34

Love the title Grin

Not sure which thread I should be posting on yet.....

Meanwhile, Hello to pa hope your dds appt goes well, and enjoy the shopping.

swan - best wishes to your DH

ouch initially missed you were poorly, hope you're better soon

Minimarmite - I don't think we've 'met' and hello to you.

And not forgetting sc, Linzer, bob, MrsD, Toffee, MissB, Nettie and everyone else.

Well, we viewed the schools yesterday, and have settled on a secondary for DD - online submission just completed! DD likes this school, which is the closest one to us, and enough of her friends are also applying so that she does have companionship if she gets a place.

Otherwise:
Morning routine done
work definitely done
online submission done
collect dcs done
buy cakes from school cake stall done
swimming lesson for ds (leave in 5 mins)
cook dinner
evening routine
DARTS match (collect mum on the way)

I never get much done on a wednesday, and tomorrow I have 5 kids in the house....I must be mad Smile

Have a nice day everyone, what's left of it. I'll check in tomorrow.

Dartshasbegun · 29/09/2010 16:36

I thought I'd lost that post! Clicked post message and I got a page saying MN offline..... Gotta go swimming, so(maybe) be back on later.

OuchPassVodka · 29/09/2010 18:08

Plonks newly found mop and bucket in the corner marking spot for the 1st.

Darts we tend to mark spots or minimal post until the 1st of the month and main post/chat on the old thread but it depends on when the new thread is set up and there is always crossing over on the last day. Grin hope swimming was ok.

Ds and i got soaked on way home from school so settled into pjs. lovely i thought. ds has just demanded to go out for a walk and has got dressed Hmm looks like i am going to have to oblige. I was comfy too :(

Stillcounting · 29/09/2010 18:48

SC trips over mop in haste to mark place! Thanks for new thread and kind words Dinky

lol PA!

Wrap up warm Ouch

VERY good news about the school Dart sounds like a good choice!

Big hello to Seeker! Rest assured we interpet the Fat Fairy wisdom extremely loosely on here ..you'll fit right in ...

See you all later!

LinzerTorte · 29/09/2010 19:04

Just marking my place for now - I will be back with renewed vigour in October. Grin

Hello and welcome to seeker. I think that those who adhere to the Fat Fairy's shoe rule are probably in the minority on this thread - some of her ideas are best taken with a pinch of salt, I find!

Toffeefudgecake · 29/09/2010 19:17
missbennett · 29/09/2010 22:23

Hi, hope all are well. Great new thread title. I am going to try and do better in October Blush but (d)H still here and feel a bit in limbo.

Tonight DD1 has sorted out mammoth washing pile - I did have a major strop about it and she did it while DD2 and I were out :) And walked the dog - must have been bored Wink

PA hope the waiting not too traumatic but you have a nice day tomorrow.
Waves to everyone else!

PS By the way - why are hugs unMN-ty?

MiniMarmite · 29/09/2010 22:31

Hi Ladies

Thanks for starting the new thread MrsD and leading us into October.

Pleased to meet you Dart Smile.

Happy Flying x

OuchPassVodka · 29/09/2010 22:40

because traditionally hugs are the domain of the huns. Where they are dished out to the level of the amount of rain that falls in the northwest constantly mnners pride themselves on being sensible tough bitches and thus dont hug. Although un-mn hugs are permitted in severe situations where by there is real justification of them being dished out. iyswim. Or at least that is how i understand it. I am sure there are other explainations out there.

Nettiespagetti · 30/09/2010 00:19

welcome seeker to our shiny new thread, now please dont listen to these philistines, shoes are always worn here especially knee high boots with huge heels. Most practical i find for all that cleaning and dusting and microfibre cloth swirling.

feetheart · 30/09/2010 06:47

Marking place and exiting rapidly as slightly scared of Nettie in kinky Flylady apparel Grin

elliepac · 30/09/2010 07:12

Marking place. Saying hello to seeker. Thinking the thought of nettie cleaning in her kinky boots is amusing yet a little scary, I normally clean in my socks.....clearly I am boringGrin

OuchPassVodka · 30/09/2010 10:37

Hello Seeker. Nettie that made me Grin
Shoes are always worn here. but that is because you are in danger of standing on lego or a pin. Both hurt, so shoes it is Grin but i do find i get more done when i wear my shoes. puts me in a working mood. no shoes = cba

but what ever works for you.Grin

SaharaS · 30/09/2010 16:02

Hello, and may I fly with you into October?!

desiretochange · 30/09/2010 16:31

Hello, may I join you also? Housework out of control and crying for attention:)

PositiveAttitude · 30/09/2010 16:37

Welcome, welcome, welcome. We will all be here tomorrow to get ourselves organised for October >

Very friendly bunch, so jump straight in!

pushmepullyou · 30/09/2010 16:41

Hello, may I come back? I have missed you all and my sink is appalling

PositiveAttitude · 30/09/2010 16:47

MRSDOOLITTLE How loverrrrrrly to see you again. Of course you are very welcome to come and join us again.

pushmepullyou · 30/09/2010 17:30

Grin All I want is a room somewhere.....

....tidy and clean with no yoghurt on the chair...

elliepac · 30/09/2010 18:24

..... No mess, no dirt, no washing, oh wouldn't it be luvverly....

PMPY helloooooooGrin how marvellous to have you back where you belong! We missed you Mrs Doolittle.

As pa says we are a friendly bunch so please just jump in and enjoy both the chat and the flying (although enjoy may be a strong choice of word for cleaningWink).
