At my dentist (private) a check up is usually about £40, depending on time, hygenist similar. Dh has just had an extraction £98. Fillings vary according to size and complication. I am not sure if you get root canal or bridges etc on NHS, they are fairly costly. I imagine you would be entitled to your free treatment when pg, but don't know.

JustKeepSwimming · 25/09/2010 19:26

See that doesn't seem too bad, i mean a checkup is only meant to be twice a year (if i make it that often, lol) and i think i was spending about 16-ish at the nhs one.

Its not bad really, once you have got your teeth up to scratch, my dentist only does a yearly check, hygeinist twice a year. Believe me seeing DHs probs it is definitely worth breaking through the fear. I'll hold your hand JKSSmile

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 25/09/2010 21:15

Helloo.
Messing on new Netbook.
Good to see you today Mini. We had a bite out after we said goodbye to you and were back in time to put ds to bed.

Hope everyone ok.

wastingaway · 25/09/2010 23:04

Hello everybody! Can't believe I haven't posted in over a week!
Can't believe I missed a Cod invasion. She must be lonely, poor thing.

I've been trying to spend as little brain-effort on housework as possible, and have got the house ticking over nicely now.

I am living harmoniously with the spiders for now, eco-flypaper one might say, and waiting til the dust is thick enough to be truly satisfying to clean. Grin

And consequently I've got loads of other stuff done.

Hanging out on the Feminism threads certainly makes one less concerned with skirting boards. Wink

Tomorrow -

  • breakfast and clean up
  • dry pots
  • 1 load of laundry
  • fold any dry laundry
  • sort and put away clean laundry
  • shower and dress
  • out for lunch
  • put bin out

  • tidy downstairs
  • DS bath and bed

I'm sorry JKS( and Plum). I was aware of that. but it was what stimulated me to jog you, cos care now will save a whole lot of trouble later. Reminds me of that Pam Ayes poem 'I wish I'd looked after mi teeth' Blush for even remembering it.
Any way on a happier note I am going to enter some items in the local Ploughing match and show next Sat. I have been nagged by a friend into entering Jam, a picture and some photos. I will be away otherwise would have made cake, and a few other amusing things. Re -a flower arrangement themed the Coalition. I though Dandelions, Nettles, Southernwood(for bitterness) and a thistle or twoGrin.

Hi, please can i join your thread? Smile! I've been lurking for ages and I feel brave enough to add my list to the mix. I'm an obsessive listmaker, as DH will attest, so I think I will feel really at home here.

I've recently moved, reduced my working hours but lost my cleaner and DH is pretty useless really, so I need to get properly organised. So its Sunday night and starting gently, here is my list for tomorrow:

  • get DCs to school/nursery
  • 4 hours' work (working from home)
  • book DS's consultant appointment
  • book Dr's appointments for DH and me (sickly family Grin
  • fill in nursery bear's diary and return bear to nursery
  • make DS's packed lunch
  • defrost lamb stew for dinner
  • make sure DH has booked work holiday
  • update diary for the week
  • check school letters for upcoming dates
  • change DS's bed
  • change our bed

Think that will do for now, will check in tomorrow to see how I am getting on.

ImASlatternGetMeOutOfHere · 27/09/2010 08:14

Hi, I've been pointed in the direction of this thread by some lovely ladies. I've been ill for a long while and we are drowning in muck and clutter and toys and clothes and stuff and dirt and paperwork. I need to desperatly get myself organised. Today has been a case in point I have had to scream like a haridan at my boys because they wouldn't get dressed and I couldn't break away from doing thier lunchboxes as we would be even later. They get a lift to school and it started out they were collected at 8.00 to get them to school for 8.20 (eldest) 8.25 (middle and 9.00 (youngest) but over the months it has been creeping back to 8.40/8.45 and it is getting a push to get them ready on time. I am getting them up at 6.45 and think that is early enough. It's doing my head in as if I walked them I would leave at 8.40, so it is not helping fully. If my house was organised then I would be able to do lunch boxes at night and get uniform ready then as well and it wouldn't be so fraught. Sorry that turned into a rant. I realise I am lucky to not have to take them but.....

Anyway today is the day I stop procrastinating and start. I am going to start with the timer on 15 min. bursts and do 15 mins per room with a break in between. I will also do the dishwaser and washing machine. I will start the list and add to it during the day as I progress. I will be able to do this till 1pm today.
