Slatterns, you are beckoned!

Come hither from thither but do not dither!!

OP posts:
anonymousbrainsnatcher · 27/10/2010 10:28

Comtessa house sounds great, and nicely in time for DD's arrival....

I missed the reference to knitted boobs?!?!?!?!?Confused But it sounds extraordinary - at NCT or BF clinic I assume?!?!?

DH comes home today FOR GOOD!!!!! Well, for good in 2010 anyway. Persuading DC to tidy up their play area in readiness for his arrival (in less than one hour), however, is not proving easy!!! I don't expect us all to be on parade when he gets home, but equally having been travelling for 3 weeks, it might be nice for him to come into a reasonably orderly home... Blush time is running out!

vasting - make the most of it! Sounds good to me. I don't exactly get a lie in, but DC wake around 7 and with no school, they come in to me for a cuddle... which is lovely and worth waking up for!

anonymousbrainsnatcher · 27/10/2010 10:29

OO, only 23 posts left ladies, did we sort a new thread title? Someone had something - this thread has lasted about 6 weeks, so next one wont quite take us to Christmas on that basis.....

anonymousbrainsnatcher · 27/10/2010 10:42

Need to add to list:

  • prepare pumpkin halloween slantterns-- Wink
Alibabaandthe40nappies · 27/10/2010 10:56

Morning :)

I feel yuck today, full of cold and all achey - DH brought me and DS breakfast in bed and I've had another snooze while DS played upstairs. DH has gone to work now so I'm dressed and downstairs.
It is a lovely day, really should take DS out for a walk.....

Anon - I'd got a new thread title, can't remember it exactly but I'll start the new thread in a bit.

mummywahhahamammoth · 27/10/2010 11:10

I wonder how many uses we can think of for a knitted boob. Could be one of those handy toilet roll covers,that we all use all the time.....Grin smiling at my crap typing which made me write knitited, didn't know there was a tit in knitted{grin}
List late when I ahve done summat.

Mini - definitely garden! Though tbh i used to be keener on going out than i am now, think it's now i'm over the novelty of a garden and we are north-facing so first you have to go through the cold/shady bit before you reach the sun. Or maybe i'm just lazy.

Just caught up on yesterdays posts. so Hello Comtessa. Freaki we all want to be loved and needed at some level. Hope a nice man shows up soon.
Been in garden, so as well as stuff ticked below I have chopped dead flower started a new compost bin, cut back tomatoes, dug up buttercups and grass (there's lots more) and small fanfare: thrown out old mouldy veg from fridgeBlushtrue slattern stuff.

Vasting not sure I have any efficiency answers, play up beat music, ask a friend round to help with yours then go round and help with hers. make sure you get loads of appreciation.

Impressed with all your gardening work Mini :)

Re efficiency, i dunno really. I think there are different bits to it:

  • not be too hung up on what your house looks like to guests, they will see a relaxed, friendly, loving family home :) (as long as basics are actually clean i guess)
  • do some things as you see them, always a tricky one but i find even things like putting stuff on stairs to go up, or moving rubbish to the bin end of the counter, can help
  • have a home for things; this can be a 'junk basket' for stuff you're not sure about but it means you can actually put stuff there when you're tidying up
  • never try and do 'everything', it's too much, tackle small things at a time
  • oh and put music on when you start, lively music :)

Thanks JKS we have a south facing garden so nice and sunny although since eye trouble in summer, I'm in shades and large hat.
Am making notes re efficiency. Doing one thing at a time and completing it is a challenge for me, but does work.

New thread here

comtessa · 27/10/2010 22:22

Today
Finish review of last night's ballet done
I'm very in awe of all your long lists compared with my slightly pathetic ones... However EDD is only four weeks away and I am HUGE and starting to get rather uncomfortable.

Today
Get dressed and walk to community centre done
Spend morning as volunteer at cafe done
En route home buy food for dinner done
Take nap if needed (36 weeks and HUGE! Also late night last night) not done hence off for early night
Call MIL
Fit lock
Tidy downstairs and do washing up ss friends round this evening washing up done
Clean bathroom done
Make dinner done
If time, do more to sort out bedroom. Tricky when no wardrobe so just shuffling piles of clothes around the room, really. Roll on DH's next payday and Ikea trip!
Get building and contents insurance done

Other
Put black shelves together
Letter reclaiming bank charges
Thank-you letter to MIL's friend Wanda
Angry email to councillor re. no recyclng bins in area

That's it for now. Happy listing everyone.
