Morning Alice :) - good luck with your list!

I have got a UTI which I have ABs for, and now a cold also. Feeling sorry for myself!! I have just ordered a lovely maternity mac and tunic from Crave though - wanted a couple of nice things to wear on holiday

TO DO
Go in the shower once DH is out
Get dressed
Get DS up and dressed
Breakfast
Put a load of washing on
Unload dishwasher and clear up kitchen
Tidy living room
Hoover downstairs
Drs
Hobbycraft

That will do to start with.

AliceandtheGinormousBaps · 26/10/2010 08:47

Ali both pgs i haven't spent much on maternity clothes in the theory that 'i won't be in them long' but in fact if you get them in the end of the first trimester, wear them throughout pregnancy and then for at least 6months afterwards, that is a year of wearing them so it really does make sense to get something that will last you and that you like. I am constantly wearing the same things simply because of what i can feed in.

F fell back asleep for a bit, so DD and i shared a bath. She is still in there while i feed F (again) (can see her from our bedroom)

Morning!

Ali, hope you feel better soon.

Freaky, I'm all nostalgic for my condensation patrol. So annoyed about the curtains though, ut I'm not going to take them down to wash til the landlord gets the windows replaced. Grin

Congrats Mini. Smile

Eurgh. Still full of cold here.

Right!

AliceandtheGinormousBaps · 26/10/2010 11:39

Grrrr DD is a little bugger! She has a lollipop left from her party bag and she asked if she could have it. I told her she could after lunch, so she opens it and is sat in front of me eating it go "mmmm, yummy, my lolli is very sweet" at least have the decency to pretend you have listened and go and eat it in private!! Grin

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 26/10/2010 12:08

Alice - DS is wilful like that. This morning I asked him not to gargle his milk, and various noises continued. I gave him a look and he said 'Mummy I'm not gargling, I'm glugging'. Which he was, and I hadn't specifically forbidden glugging Hmm

I know what you mean about the mat. clothes. I didn't buy loads when I was pg with DS, and when I dug it all out again most of it looked so scruffy - and also vile things, god knows what I was thinking! I haven't bought much this time either, until this morning I had spent only about £50, but we are going away next week and staying in quite a smart hotel so I don't want to look like a bag lady!

We have been to see the GP about DS' wheezing, then Hobbycraft and ToysRus and I am knackered! I got myself a macdonald's on the way home Blush Not much else happening for today now I don't think - I got DS a book with 1000 dinosaur stickers in it which should keep him quiet for a while Grin

Also had a big rant at the bank because they've had to cancel one of my cards due to the details being leaked to fraudsters Hmm I am so angry, this is the second time in only about 18 months and they can't promise to get a new card to me before we go away. Angry

DONE
Go in the shower once DH is out
Get dressed
Get DS up and dressed
Breakfast
DH to work
Long phonecall with bank
Drs
Hobbycraft
ToysRus

TO DO
Flop in a heap
Reply to some e-mails and texts
Put a load of washing on
Unload dishwasher and clear up kitchen
Tidy living room
Hoover downstairs
Lunch for DS (and possibly more for me too, am starving!)
Strip chicken carcass and make some stock
DH home early today?
Nap for me and DS

JustKeepSparkling · 26/10/2010 13:16

Ali - i hate bank stuff like that! I always feel somehow guilty when obviously pg and eating in McDs, like someone might come and stop me or something! Hmm

Bit of a shambles at bf group, none of the 'official counsellors' turned up, and an art person didn't trun up for some other group - with bigger kids so we all ended up in one room, chaos.
But a new mum came and i was able to chat through a fair amount of bf stuff :)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 26/10/2010 13:35

JKS - DH suggested that I send them a letter billing them £50 for the hassle, on the basis that if we make a mistake or we need to change a DD or something at the last minute then they would charge us an admin fee. I bloody well might actually, it has really infuriated me. The other thing is, that because we are going to be away, they can't send my new card here because it will be sat in an empty house for 3-4 days. So they have to send it to the branch 'for my convenience', and then I've got to go and pick it up! I am not a happy customer Angry

and YES to feeling guilty at MacD's during pregnancy, although I went through the drive-thru so perhaps no-one could see Grin

I have done nothing except lunch, feel really grotty and horrible :(

AliceandtheGinormousBaps · 26/10/2010 13:39

JKS our BF group is a bit rubbish too. The counsellor is lovely, but for weeks i was the only person going. The last couple of weeks there has been one other woman though.

It is dawning on me that our planned Halloween party is this sunday and i have done nothing for it, except give out invitations Confused Stuggling to get enthusiasm tbh. Any ideas very welcome! ages are 1-6yrs.

F has just filled his pants very loudly, so if you will excuse me...

vastingavay · 26/10/2010 13:50

Ali, how infuriating!

Alice, your DD is so cheeky Grin

JKS, well done.

I want to go along to the bf group, and maybe train to be a peer supporter, but I think, particularly in this borough, that if I rocked up with my enormous, eloquent 2.6 year old people's heads might explode. Grin
I'll make sure I go if we have another baby though, I feel I really missed out by not being able to get there last time.

The plastic coating ahs come off the edges of some parts of my ancient clothes airer and I've just caught my skirt and pulled a hole Angry

I just saw the landlord pull up next door which got me to clean the sink and stack the pots to wash, but it looks like he's gone again. Grin Blush

TBH, despite all govt rhetoric about Breast is Best, yadda yadda, our bf group has lost so much funding & support over the last 4.5 years it's untrue :(

When i first started with DS1, we had a Health Care Asst (like a junior HV) there every week, and an HV often popped in, we could get our babies weighed if we wanted or ask anything medical/post-baby stuff. And it meant there were at least 2 pro-bf HV-types out there.

Their funding was cut so they could spend more time with teenage mums or something, grr (sorry to any teenage mums btw). So we lost the weighing bit too.

Mostly it's a group of regulars who sit and chat, drink tea & eat biscuits Grin We do need more recruits/newbies but it has been hard going on the getting out there and talking to AN groups as all our cllrs have young DC. I am trying to get on the next bf course and I am determined that i will go to some AN groups just to let people know about our group as I think that's part of the problem, no-one knows we're there. And that we're not just there for problems, but for a nice sit down, sofas, etc.

Have just spent an hour on the fridge Shock and still have the drink trays at the bottom to clean; i have chucked out loads of out-of-date stuff and given it all a good scrub, shocking state really.
