Ooh I am RAGING at GOSH.
5.30 get phone call to go through checklist for DS2's MRI on Monday....
What MRI?
Do you mean this Monday?
As in 4 days time?

ARGH!!!!

No notice, have no idea about DH's diary on that day, not answering mobile, changed his pc password so can't try and check diary on there, etc.

DS1 has a hosp appt at 9am Mon at local hosp (to check undescended testicles), could rearrange except...they will be shut until ...9am Monday.

Think we will have to all go to DS1's appt, drive from there to GOSH (for 11.30 - is doable just) and hope DS1 is ok with a 'fun' day out Hmm
At least we can go to Corams Fields with him while DS2 is under (or 1 of us can for a bit).

I cannot believe the shocking admin at that place, i know we are meant to think it's God's Gift to kids medicine and the surgeons/consultants are fab but the admin, i have yet to have a successful encounter with that side.

This is the same place that has not rung me back about the word 'tumour' appearing in a letter with no explanation.

grrrrrrrr...ad infinitum

Oh JKS that is so poor... did they say how or when you were supposed to have been notified about this???

Grief, well, I wish I could offer to help you out somehow! Hope you have it covered, despite the extraordinarily short notice...

The admin department has probably got ten managers, but no one to actually DO the admin.. how frustrating for you. I hope it all works out ok. Can anyone you see on Monday help you out with the "tumour" query?

PS. Glad you got your "me time bath" in earlier! Nice, isn't it?!

May not post much over the weekend, so have a good one everybody and JKS hope all goes well with both hospitals appts on Monday .... thinking of you.

vastingavay · 22/10/2010 20:31

Evening!

JKS, Shock It's just so slack of them, how many clinical hours must get lost when people aren't told of appointments?!
Hope Monday is a productive day medically for you all anyway.

Anon, did you win? Grin

We've had an odd day. We slept in and as me and DS are still illing we weren't going to playgroup anyway, and DH did his shoulder in yesterday so he went to the docs this morning, but we all went into town shopping this afternoon which did us all the world of good. Smile

Tomorrow -

  • 1 load laundry
  • try DS wellies for size
  • Morrisons
  • garden
  • playing
  • Smile
anonymousbrainsnatcher · 22/10/2010 23:47

vasting you know what? After a bloody long game DS and I actually did win on the very last throw of the dice. Only because I enforced the rules on needing exact throw to win the game . But she always bloody wins! Cheating or not cheating. So this was first win ever for dear mummy!

Morning all.

Well DH is going to try and take Mon off and he will go with DS2 to GOSH, I will stay here with DS1 & do his appointment. Think that should work out better.

Apparently a letter was sent....

Almost definitely will not see anyone who knows anything actually about DS2, just an anaesthetist (sp?) for the GA and MRI-specific people.

Will have to try and remember to ring and leave more messages about the tumour thing next week.

JKS, that's good if he can get the day off in Monday.

Hey Plum! Smile I keep losing the thread too. Blush

Had a bad night here with DS being a bit hot and coughing and whimpering and wanting to get in with us, so form me. Not used to it anymore!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 23/10/2010 10:19

Morning everyone :)

JKS - Shock I am outraged on your behalf! Really hope DH can take the day off. You are having such a time of it :(

Separate question. Do you ever notice that DS2 plays up when he gets wheezy? Not when he's really struggling, but just if he is wheezing a bit. The last few nights DS has been a bit wheezy at bedtimes and he has really really played up, it took two of us to get him into his nappy and jammies last night which is very unusual!

Wasting it is horrendous when they start waking again isn't it? I am used to my sleep now!!

Alice - hope your day stays tits down Grin

DONE
Watch qualifying in bed
Load of washing on
Breakfast (bacon sarnie, yum)
Slouch about

Not sure what the plan is today, more laundry, DH needs to do something to the car where I scraped the paint off the underneath Blush. Takeaway and Strictly later.

JustKeepSwimming · 23/10/2010 11:15

Ali - Slurp! much appreciated! I don't think DS2 plays up particularly, he's fine, with a hint of cough or cold, then all of a sudden he's struggling to breathe and all wimp-y and pathetic (not that i blame him). he does get very stressed & grumpy and screams a lot until he falls asleep, so screams even more if you try and do stuff like nappy change/get him dressed/etc.
