It is FREEZING.
I am off to buy kindling this afternoon.

Today so far I have:
Got DC dressed and bundled into some else's car
Had a long hot bath and washed hair
Got dressed
Had two coffees
Posted on a thread about mad mothers (I could write the book!)
Made two phone calls ("work" type, rather than gossip)
Read one magazine

I am now sitting with a further coffee (decaff!), a digestive (or two) and another magazine.

I've taken the morning off.

I have not done this in months and months. Maybe even a year. It won't happen again for another year I suspect.

It is too wet to walk dog. She can have one day off.

I do however, still need to:

Fold dry laundry
Run one more load later
Buy kindling
Fill car with petrol
Take all 3 of us for hair cut
Light fire
Eat tea
Go to bed very very early. No wine or chocolate (no wonder I didn't sleep last night) needed now to get me through the miners drama

I feel utterly naughty and sinful. Blush.

The guilt might keep me awake tonight. Sad

OP posts:
anonymousbird · 14/10/2010 11:34

PS Plea for help!

Does anyone have experience of stopping thumb sucking?? DS (6) just doesn't even know he is doing it.. made it my mission while DH away this week and next to knock it on the head. DS really wants to stop, but he just pulls off the plasters I put on his thumb at night. (In his sleep he claims Hmm).

Am also incentivising, but because it is a subconscious action for him, and he spends 6.5 hours at school and 11.5 hours out of my sight in bed each day (so he is only in my company for ........ errr..... maximum 6 hours of the day, it's a nightmare. Have had quiet word with teacher, but she has a whole class to look after and can't spend all day nagging DS.

Making no progress. Deep sigh.

Maybe I need to search other threads/google on this one, but if you have any ideas, please let me know!

Anon, perhaps focus on him not doing it in public first. Just reminding him when he's doing it, ie. 'DS, you're sucking your thumb.' So he's aware of it iyswim.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 14/10/2010 17:34

Hello everyone :) Today I have had the stomach bug! We had DS' godmother to stay last night and I felt a bit sicky at dinner time but didn't think anything of it because I still feel queasy sometimes at mealtimes. Then I have been a poorly girl this morning. DH and godmother (who is bestest friend) sorted DS out between them this morning while I slept and then DS has mostly slept this afternoon which is good because DH had to go to the office.

But - I am crap, because there is nothing for DS to have for dinner without major cooking, which I can't face. DH is still at work and it will be at least 6.30 before he is home. Argh what do I do? Toast for tea I think, although he doesn't like baked beans or anything like that. Bugger bugger, am v.cross with myself.
