Ds must have been nervous this morning, he forgot his football boots and text to ask me to take them to the bus stop, I almost made it but the bus pulled away jus as I turned the corner. Then I had update texts from ds as he got to certain points on the journey, he though he was going to miss his next bus, but made it with a minute to spare. SO thats good

dd skipped to school but when we got there another poor girl was very upset and proper sobbing dd took one look at her said I don't want to go. I st her on carpet gave her kiss said I have to go. peeked through the window as I passed and she wasn't crying but looked like it was taking huge effort not to Sad Hope she has settled now and is ok.

AWw Dylsmum I'm sure she'll be ok.

DD is on her second day at senior school and I am about to go and drop off the lunch money she forgot.
DS started in reception, and went in as if he'd been going for weeks alreadySmile

Pics to follow on facebookGrin

I have lots of small errands that I've been leaving til ds was at school, so will try and get them done now, then crack on with some FLYing

I think I may need to restart with babysteps though.

dylsmum1998 · 06/09/2010 11:30

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 06/09/2010 11:39

sneeks in

Have loved todays mission,
feel like I am on top of stuff this morning
have done
dishwasher
beds
ss bathrooms
put away sainsburys delivery

still need to
ironing,
put a washing load on
make moussaka for dinner

am trying to remember to take babysteps whilst I get back into things.

swanriver · 06/09/2010 15:16

Today I have done
Sainsbury's (for only a few days mind you)
ds to CAMHS - met someone much more worried about their child, felt v. lucky to have my lovely ds (odd though he is sometimes) - still a nice enough day hanging out together - not sure what the assessment's going to be till they observe him in school..for which they have made appt

now off to pickup
hallo to Greyskull and good for you feeling on top of things, can't say I ever feel that Blush - just forget I need to do things that always brings on cheery feeling...Hmm
Dyls sometimes the next few days can be the worst - the adrenalin wears off and it feels v. uphill, brave dd.

LeslieWinkle · 06/09/2010 16:27

Can I ask what the 'fly' thing is? I always see the fly threads but don't know what they are I did a search but it didn't she any light!

swanriver · 06/09/2010 16:40

Go to Sept Fledglings and you will see links to Flylady site and Babysteps! All is explained in more detail there. All the best!

LeslieWinkle · 06/09/2010 17:02

Thanks Swan, I've had a look and get it now - not sure if I'm brave enough to join in though, it sounds pretty full on!!!

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 06/09/2010 18:05

Leslie, I can honestly say that it isn't full on, the whole point of it is that doing anything is better than doing nothing, she talks about babysteps because it really is a slow relearning about running a home.

For a while just look at the links and see if you fancy giving them a go, you will be surprised at how different your house will look just by making a few small changes Smile

dylsmum1998 · 06/09/2010 18:54

Hi Leslie, Bypowerofgreyskull is right it is really ewasy to do. I pick and choose the bits I want to do but the house never looks to bad anymore Smile

Swan I expected dd to be a bit wobbly going in towards end of theweek when she starts to get more tired. So threw me a bit when she did it this morning. She came running out with big smiles said she had fun day. Over dinner she said she got upset this morning because theother girl was upset and that made her feel scared. Bless her.

HAd a lovely lunch with friend for so much better for a giggle and a chat.

Today I need to

done;
ds to school
dd to school
wash up
load washer
unload washer
load washer
put washing up away
tidy through
hoover through
make beds
s&s bathrooms
have also made a batch of pasta sauce to freeze and batch of curry sauce to freeze
wash kitchen floor
mission
Lunch with a friend
CLeaned out two of the kitchen cupboards and gave them a good wipeover

Now going to sit with snuggles with dd before she goes to bed

Hello all
My kitchen in serious need of attention but I just don't have the energy! Did scrub the sink today though and it is sparkly - baby steps!
Had an irritating morning, lots of errands run and felt like I'd achieved nothing as none of it was home - which needs a lot of attention. Need to stay at home and do some cleaning and tidying - decluttering, really, but still have things to buy, people to see etc!
Finally raining here but did managed to wash and get dry some pram cosytoes etc and all the baby's sleeping bags and blankets! Only really muslins (why do I have so many?!) and newborn/0-3 clothes to wash now and the rest of the pram covers etc. Getting organised. DH supposed to be putting the baby's border up tonight but it has been put off for a few weeks now so not holding my breath. I am waiting for that so I can get the cot assembled and buy a chest of drawers for all the stuff!

Enough baby talk. DS had a lovely day at school but was obnoxious and tired when he got home! DD had a nice time at nursery, only 5 of them as they have the original children on the first day then stagger the newbies for the rest of the week.

Right better do something! Huge pile of ironing again, need to clear shelves in baby's room too (where will I put it all? Used to be our office!)

BB tomorrow

OverflowingMum · 06/09/2010 20:44

evening all

V tired.
Feel totally drained. First day in full new routine (dc to school, ds to nursery,me to work, then reverse!)
found it all really stressful...ds still hating nursery Sad
feeling quite low and bewildered....
did manage to be V organised over weekned though so that helped today run smoother...but now seem to have run out of energy to be organised for tomorrow...and it's only Monday

Still, willhang in there...I'm sure it will get easier once we find our feet!

dyls porr dd...I'm waiting for dd4 to loose the excitement of the novelty and decide she doesnt like full time school! LOL

swan we had similar experience when I took dd3 for her assessment for Aspergers...met another family with dd with many difficulties ....made me realise that really dd3's problems were very limited....
hope school app goes well

jas sounding organised...

wendy take it easy!

greyskull hello

leslie you start with very little steps...its quite managable!

right...bbtomorrow...hopefully feeling more positive!

swanriver · 06/09/2010 23:21

[hands round glasses of Lucozade to tired people] - hope you get a good night's sleep OFM - I think uncharted territory is especially tiring and it is your first day on the new schedule. Big hugs to ds2.

TM was on the other Monday thread.

anyway sink is shiny, we've had a nice evening. I started reading ds1 Carrie's War in an attempt to make him more highbrow - he kept asking how much he was earning by listening Shock Cooked dh an exquisite Italian lineup only slightly supplemented by Sainsbury. Cubs pickup.
Changed sheets, scrubbed basins, put away socks, washed up, and had time for a bit of frivolous banter with family

Dylsmum what a sweet little girl, it's lovely that she can tell you how she feels.

dylsmum1998 · 07/09/2010 07:56

Swan glad you had a nice eve. I am lucky with dd she has always been very vocal, think thats why we never had many tantrums when she was smaller

OFM hope thingws go a little smoother for you this morning. I am not looking forward to the chaos I know will appear next week when its back to uni.

DOne today
dc lunch

Jas · 07/09/2010 14:07

I have started getting FLY lady Christmas countdown emailsShock

dylsmum1998 · 07/09/2010 14:23

oh my goodness, fly stuff goes into an old email I rarely sign into. does FLYlady have ones telling us how to sort christmas as well as housework?

OP posts:
swanriver · 07/09/2010 14:55

Dyls I have hidden all the comics now, (but too mean to chuck) as ds1 is on a perpetual comic/Simpson/Beano loop and no longer reads books - well it seems that way...
good luck with essay, I'm sure you've finished half already Wink

Jas yes I have heard tell there is something called Bejewelled Blitz that is v. addictive

Peachy hope new nursery day goes well

I have struggled with the house this morning. I took my glasses off to try and stop myself panicking, and achieved quite a lot of decluttering/re-organising
Horrid smell of pee in bathroom - threw bottles of bleach at it, only to discover ds2 has been peeing er missing under a chest of drawers [aargh] which admittedly was too near the loo for comfort. I feel a bit like a swimmingpool attendant now. Chest is very old, think it will have to go to dump - one more problem

tomorrow...

Done
bedrooms x 4
various decluttering/sorting
general cleaning

house still looks dreadful though, and there are laundry piles everywhere. Time for a bit of malt loaf...

need to pump up dd's bike, and make some egg sandwiches for after school
proper tea is toad in hole/sausages with veg - veg box has arrived as if by magic after six weeks absence - that's planning for you Grin

swanriver · 07/09/2010 15:00

First Xmas babystep!!! - I have put aside a present for Dsis and Dmum, and also some plain cardboard photo frames for dcs to decorate for gps, and put pictures of themselves in.
And I have started on my pile of summer clothes to put away for next year

doggiesayswoof · 07/09/2010 15:15

Can I barge in for a minute? I recently signed up to flylady and doing babysteps and a bit of zone stuff atm. I like it! I haven't seen the Christmas countdown thingy - where do you get those emails? Christmas always a last minute nightmare for me...

dylsmum1998 · 07/09/2010 15:50

Swan - is the first christmas fly step to buy a present? if so done it have one of my neices presents and the 2 grandads ones, plus couple of bits for dd. Should really go and find the emails and look for myself.

I have decided to type up my observations from school rather than write my essay. Nothing like starting as you mean to go on Hmm Grin

just collected dd from school where she told me she had found peanuts on the school field and collected them but wouldnt tell me where she had put them. When we got home she took off her shoes and socks and there were lots of seeds in her sock. I asked why they in her sock, because school uniform doesn't have pockets mummy Grin
