scatty I agree with everyone else, there is far too much interfering goes on at school, I seriously doubt if all this labelling helps anyone!
dyls Last year I did tell my ds's school teacher his books were too easy and he could already read them, after a couple of weeks waiting for her to cotton on (she didn't). He jumped three stages on the 'tree' the next day Smile! I managed to do it in a non interfering way but it's a tricky one!

Been to a new dance class with dd, she loved it. She is so brilliant, to say she is 3, no fear, just walked into the room without me. She really enjoyed it. Now she is doing dance and tap on Wednesdays and disco on Saturdays!

Not sure what up to today.

A lion?! I actually thought that was a typo for line....DD2 and ds wouldn't have managed a line at 2, just not interested at all.
I'm not worried.

DD2 is in yr 5 now and managing just fineSmile

My efforts yesterday were noticed and appreciatedGrin
Last night I was suddenly ill. I had v and d all night, no idea why.
I still feel a bit queazy now,so we are going to have a very quiet day in today.

swanriver · 11/09/2010 11:54

swan cleaning! Very impressive! LOL. I am having an hour to myself, DH taken children swimming. Off for a nap and not going to feel guilty depsite dirty cluttered house and pile of ironing!

realitychick · 11/09/2010 19:51

Hi

Jas - hope you're feeling better now.

My house still looks like a tip but keeping at it.

Put away two mountains baskets of washing
Picked up 50 kilos of windfall apples from the garden (
Picked another 10 kilos from the tree to give to my elderly neighbour who makes chutney. The tree's gone mad this year.
Took kids swimming but didn't go in myself as feeling huge :(
Baked cookies with DS1
Mopped hall again in demented desire to have a house that smells nice, not stale, when people stop by.

swanriver · 11/09/2010 19:51

Done
did loads of garden clearing & sweeping while dh out for afternoon with others, as ds2 playing nicely with Lego.
did not go to garden centre - saved lots of £
dd playdate, and dropped in there for coffee and chat afterwards to see my neighbour's beautiful hens Grin
more scuttling around decluttering, basic shopping errands

today has been a success because I have cleverly contrived to make sure five of us were never in house simultaneously Blushso no chance for arguments to erupt

now everyone is at last together watching Merlin! Hopefully then we can put them to bed...

dylsmum1998 · 11/09/2010 20:16

Swan you sound busy today

REalitychick Shock 50 kilos of apples

Wendy hope you had your nap and enjoyed the time to yourself.

DD started her swim lessons this morning, she did fantastic I'm so pleased but also Sad my baby has not seemed such a baby this week!
Ds is back to swimming lessons too, he is doing good trying to get to grips with diving.
Also bought dd her own hamster today, am pleased I had an empty icecream tub in the car for dd's collections as he nibbled out of his box on the way home!

Have completely gutted dd's bedroom today with her help whilst ds did his room. Upstairs looks so tidy now. I love it when I can glance into a room and it looks clean and tidy.
Then took ds to nana and grandads to sleep over. SIL and 2 nephews were there so while dc played we helped nan sort out her under stairs cupbaords and some bits found in the attic as they are moving soon. I pinched a couple of unused table lamps for my bedroom and 6 metres of gorgeous fabric to make myself some bedroom curtains with.

Now am going to sit down and watch some tv

dylsmum - that's great on decluttering their rooms with them. That feeling is so good - when every room looks inviting.

Jas · 12/09/2010 09:50

Thanks all. I gave up and went back to bed yesterday as soon as dp got in from work at 5.30, but feel alot better today after 14+ hours sleepShock

I have no food in and still don't feel like eating much myself, but will make the effort and cook a proper dinner tonight.

Nothing else planned.

scattyspice · 12/09/2010 18:10

Take it easy jas.

dyl your dd sounds very grown up these days Smile.

Have introduced lots of anti dyspraxia measures into dds lifestyle (this weekend we have done swimming, scootering, swingball and play dough as well as the usual trips to the park)I don't think she's too impressed Hmm. She is currently felling a tree in the garden with dh and ds (this could be a step too far!).

I am finding it hard to strike a balance between encouraging her to do things she does not want to do (like riding her scooter, swimming etc) and leaving her please herself (at the risk of more letters home from school!) Being a physio I tend to err on the side of physical play anyway which has always suited ds but can lead to battles with dd (who would rather play with dolls and teddies). Confused.

realitychick · 12/09/2010 19:49

Stick at it Scatty. She'll thank you in the end. I'm dyspraxic and one of my poor kids has inherited it. I never played ball with them when they were small as I can't catch or throw straight. It really shows now. The few physical things I've been really forceful on (like scootering, riding a bike) ended up in tears for a day but long term have been really brilliant for him. Now trying to do the same with swimming, footie etc.

Today - out for most of day having fantastic time at Fairytale place at mayor's festival. But

done:
hoovered downstairs
hung washing on line
another wash load on
emptied and reloaded dishwasher
cleaned downstairs loo
cooked tea

off to scrub very grubby DSs who are covered in glitter, sugar and river mud.

dylsmum1998 · 12/09/2010 20:36

Scatty she is its makes me feel very Sad.
DD will get used to more physical type play- can she attach a teddy to her scooter and take him to see how fast he goes etc??

Reality -glitter sugar and river mud sounds like yours have had a great day Smile

Today dd and I have been to the police station open day, weher we got to see inside the cells, play in ambulances, army vehicles and see the police dogs among other things. Very interesting very shocked we were there for 4 1/2 hours.

also done;
washing
ironing
wash up
tidy through
hoover whole house
dd's reading

am now trying to print off everything I need for uni tomorrow.Printer is playing up and keeps jamming Angry

OFf to unjam it again

I think I and ds1 are undiagnosed dyspraxics too Hmm not much balance, love fantasy play, world of imagination, but not so hot on football, ball games, hand to eye etc. Also sadly untidy...but anyway...leads to other talents Grin
Also I found myself to be v good at sports that involved stamina and daring rather than technical excellence..so I am very good at rowing, terrible at sailing, v good at cooking terrible at icing cakes

A great day out and about today! well apart from one tantrum from dd...who exists from one sugar fix to the next.. Church and then we visited a secondary school to check the bus route Blush and then found ourselves exploring neighbouring Jacobean house and grounds, and then following canal to Brentford Lock. I think we need a Sylvanian families canal boat now!

Good morning allSmile

I did no FLYing yesterday as it was my birthdayGrin I had a very lazy day with pizza for tea and lots of free time.

Today I am going to try and do alot more, as I will be out all day tomorrow. I will have a think and see if I can come up with a realistic list.

LauraNorder · 14/09/2010 09:31

I really want to FLY, I've started many times but failed to keep up Sad I hate the CHAOS feeling and it happens a lot. Sad

Does it really work? How long do you have to do it before you notice a difference?

LauraNorder · 14/09/2010 09:31

Happy Birthday for yesterday Jas Smile

Jas · 14/09/2010 09:39

Thankyou Laura, and Welcome.Smile

Yes it does work. The best way for long term results is to do the babysteps. It seems very slow, but it does help you to establish new routines which is what you need to keep on top of things.
Very few (if any) of us follow FL to the letter, and we have all adapted it to suit our own lives. I find this thread more help than the routines alone for example.

Have a look at the website, go and shine you sink, and then come back and tell us about it!Grin

LauraNorder · 14/09/2010 09:40

Thanks Jas, how long have you been doing it?

Jas · 14/09/2010 11:05

Blush 4 years.

But 4 years ago my house and life were truly a mess. I did the babysteps twice in the first year, and got proper routines going.

The lifesavers for me were setting the timer for 15 mins and not getting distracted from a job/room until the time was up, and menu planning.

To be honest in the past year things have spilled, as dp was unemployed which messed up my routines, and my computer time, so I lost this thread.

He is now back at work and my youngest is at school so I am kick stating.....

which brings me to a request for you lovely FLYers:

PLEASE will any of you who have a weekly and daily routine list available cut and paste it on here for me, so I can short cut and not have to do all the babysteps again?

Thanks in advance.
