Morning all back in a mo with links etc

OP posts:
scattyspice · 07/09/2010 19:17

Please stop talking about Xmas, I am starting to hyper ventilate!!

Swan lol took glasses off to avoid panic Grin.

I am having difficulty getting near computer these days as DD has joined DS in being a computer junky!

DC back to school today (in pouring rain). DS loves his new (male) teacher (I'm quite partial too Wink). DD still making her mind up about hers.

Back to school means back to work for me Sad. The whole hospital seems to be in total chaos. They continue to shut wards meaning patients are being constantly shuffled around to make room for new admissions Angry. There is huge pressure to get people home quickly, yet social services remain stretched to the limit!

Meanwhile house is going to rack and ruin.

OFM fingers crossed things get easier.
dyl/jas sounds a bit stressful with 2 new starters to cope with!
Hi to newbies and returners. Just do the basics (thats all I do).

scattyspice · 07/09/2010 19:22

swan meant to say hope the CAHMS assesments are useful.

wendyhappysmile · 07/09/2010 19:52

Hi all
just lost my temper with ds after the nth wrangle with him today. Everything seems to be an argument with him atm. But he is lovely at the same time and then I end up feeling guilty.
Had quite a successful morning, bit of decluttering and made two meals in case of clash with school dinner (after poor DS had macaroni cheese twice yesterday! and it's only the first day!). He had pasta in a cheese and leek sauce today Hmm and according to the board where the list went up this afternoon, it's pasta and tomato sauce tomorrow!!! Well balanced veggie option menu! Grin
Went to soft play and met a friend, we had a good natter and the two girls enjoyed it. Swimming lessons for both of DC, both did very well. Therefore I had an hour in the pool first with DS then DD, I dodged the children holding my bump the whole time, it makes me nervous!
House blitz again tomorrow.
Lovely to see you all flying, will do personals tomorrow BB then.

OverflowingMum · 07/09/2010 20:27

evening all

am wondering how on earth people do this whole working mother thing!!

have been far too grumpy and shouty today....
feel torn in a thousand different directions..
am gritting my teeth and hanging in there in the vague hope it will all get easier as we adjust to new routines...

long day tomorrow, with dc going to after school club which I'm stressed about too...

deep breaths and calming thought!

met friend
cooked toad in hole, onion gravy etc
dh brought his own supper home and fed kids second supper of pizza Angry
however - he did put dcs to bed Smile

house still awful, downstairs worse than ever, garden full of junk/gunk

OFM hope it gets a bit easier. It sounds v. hard, I think you are amazing. Hope work itself is interesting/worthwhile.
Scatty how awful and frustrating - work I mean. Are the managers any use?

Dd's new male teacher is marrying her old yr 1 teacher! All a bit embarrassing if you ask me...he seems a bit shifty at the moment - the great news is he seems to be v. anti-homework (esp marking)

Dyls no, that was my Christmas babystep not Flylady's. I might look back to last year - I remember Nutty was posting links then. I think my main Xmas babystep this year will be TO GIVE MY DCS LESS PRESENTS and THROW THEIR EXISTING POSSESSIONS AWAY

scattyspice · 08/09/2010 08:02

Morning Smile.

swan Shock very unfestive Grin.
OFM yep you summed it up!
wendy swimming sounds productive.

BBL

realitychick · 08/09/2010 08:57

Please can I join in. Don't know about the Christmas countdown either but sounds great as we are hosting this year.

Today's mission is mainly just one big one:

All floors:
hoover throughout, including under furniture,
Rug Doctor hire: steam clean all carpets
Mop wood floors
Mop bathroom and utility floors

Also:
Run to Post Office
pay cheques into bank
Put away weekly shop when it arrives
Pick up kids from school
Easy tea: baked spuds with beans/cheese/coleslaw

Done:
emptied dishwasher and reloaded
kids fed and off to school with healthy packed lunches
animals all fed
laundry load on

swanriver · 08/09/2010 09:16

So far, I have been jogging with mad cyclist dd, and CBA non-jogging ds1, who kept stopping and complaining a dog might chase him if he ran too fast Shock I am determined to get him a bit fitter before his op in Nov - so have now started before school park jogging with him. He is the most reluctant runner. And also now terrified of bicycling, even in safe urban setting. Dd now walks to school by herself, she is determined to be independent; it is a struggle to keep her under supervision; if she had her way she would bicycle to school without any adult. I suppose 8 is really too young.

Organisation still floundering - but so far only lost two forms...in yesterday's purge - they got as far as the hall, and then disappeared with the umbrella?

TODO
recycling day
change dd's bed
laundry
hoover playroom
ring piano teacher
ring builder
various other things - list so long I won't confuse myself further but have written them down

I can copy the christmas countdown thing in here if you want but it is long!

It is from FLY in the uk (a non religious FL, which does the emails on uk times)

I'm failing to achieve much this week.
I definitely need to babystep.

wendyhappysmile · 08/09/2010 13:31

Jas I would love a link to the xmas thingy every day. I should re-sign up to flylady though really.
Feeling down in the dumps today. just preg hormones I suppose. Lost it with DD and DS this morning, fed up of answering back, non compliance etc. Usual child stuff, shouldn't have lost my temper and now feel very down about it.

reality hi, you sound organised! you'll need a break after all that hoovering!
swan yes, fewer Xmas presents is the name of things here too. I did cut down last year but it was still too many. They have too much stuff! Just got the baby toys out this week and all I can say is Shock! My house is just a toy storage facility I think.
dyls hope optician ok, you have been very busy
scatty hi
OFM hang on in there - you are amazing!

Done today
Made carrot cake and apple cake
tidied kitchen
15 mins declutter in living room. stuff now in a box to go upstairs and put away (where the system falls down in this house!)
dishwasher on and unloaded
made various phone calls
school and nursery, lunch etc

To do
ironing
sweep living room floor
dusting living room
first dance lesson with dd
clean upstairs bathroom

BBL

dylsmum1998 · 08/09/2010 13:56

Jas yes please would love the countdown thingy

Wendy I feel the same with my ds at the mo he got sent to bed last night because of it, and no preg hormones to blame here. WE all loose our temper I bet its bothering you much more than it is your dc right now.

Been to the opticians for a contact lens check and discovered was also over due an eye test, they were great and fitted me in a few mins after the contact lens. and I need new glasses. I'm getting blinder everytimeI go, maybe I should just stop going Grin

Now off to do an hour of uni work before I have ot collect dd then take ds to opticians

OP posts:
swanriver · 08/09/2010 14:50

Still not getting everythng I want done Angry and I'm still in my jogging clothes from this morning [scary]

hall is looking much better though - spent all day decluttering it - but now upstairs is worse again Confused I've tackled paperwork pile

no chance of any baking here - well done Wendy

found three unpaid - disconnection level bills in unopened holiday post Shock
paying now
alsodone
phoned piano teacher for next week's arrangements Smile at least no practice this week needed!

realitychick · 08/09/2010 16:29

done:
Mopped wood floors
Hoovered and steam-cleaned living and dining room, three bedrooms and landing. Not faced the attics or stairs yet.
Been to docs.
Put away Ocado delivery
Hung up one load of washing
Put second load in dryer
Put third load in washer
Got guinea pigs out of cage to nibble lawn to save mowing it.
Sent five important work emails and put head in sand over sixth one.

My inner mule is kicking in. Don't want to do anymore. Want to eat crisps and surf MN. Is that enough for one day Flyladeeze? (Will cook and clear up a proper meal later, but steam cleaning carpets is knackering. Feels like I've done a 3 hour bootcamp.

swanriver · 08/09/2010 17:55

Animated conversation with fellow parent about spelling and lack of marking thereof in school work...Apparently the LO (learnng objective) is what matters not spelling or grammar
School meeting
did some more cleaning
cooked something easy
now off to Beavers

swanriver · 08/09/2010 17:58

learning Blush
actually I don't really mind, but interesting how many parents got upset about their kids' spelling not being corrected.

OverflowingMum · 08/09/2010 19:59

evening all

realitychick welcome

wendy hope you're feeling a bit brighter!

swan forms around here tend to only make it as far as the school gates before dissapearing!Hmm

dyls sounding organised today...reminds me I need to make opticians app for ds1...

jas would also love links to Christmas countdown...

scatty I think I may need some working mother survival tips(how do you split yourself in 3 for example!)

right, well bizarrely my long day seems to have been much easier than my short days Confused
mostly I think because DH picked dc up from nursery and after school club,so I just left work and came home, rather than rushing to nursery for ds, then school for others, then home etc...
Older dc moaning about after school club being boring...but then they moan about that at home too!

last working day tomorrow, then will be doing massive house catch up on Friday...although I have managed to keep on top of basics like washing which is good!

now need to update diary with list of dates sent home from school, and figure out how to be at DD's reception meeting and work at the same time next Tuesday...Hmm

BBtomorrow

wendyhappysmile · 08/09/2010 20:47

Poor you OFM
swan the LOs taking priority over sp and grammar would annoy me a lot and I'm a teacher!
reality you have done far too much for one day Wink

Feeling a bit better, took DD to first dance lesson, was in a different room but she absolutely loved it so it's a regular thing now! Have paid up for half a term and got her some second hand ballet shoes and tap shoes from the teacher. MIL taking us out tomorrow to buy leotard!

Done most of my list, but still haven't put away decluttered items! Biscuit

bills paid
kitchen shone (or is that shon or even shun not quite sure)
Mad Men watched (they are all getting a bit jowly if you ask me)
wet clothes hung out
Beavers was wall to wall dodgeball and paper aeroplane folding and delinquent 7 year olds

decluttered hall is a miracle - just have to ban bikes and kids
dd wants us to install a laundry chute like in Stuart Little

dh impressed by tidy bedroom, has offered to throw away some of his dirtydustyoldshoes in homage
