Can somebody advise how much recently you paid for your full bathroom renovation?

We trying to sort our master bathroom, it's 3x4m. This will be a full renovation (back to bricks). We don't want to go for makeover option, we want to do it properly so it would last 15-20 years. Wondering what prices you have paid recently (full cost)? Manchester/UK area? How long it took to renovate? We not looking at budget nor bispoke - something in a middle, but with decent finish

Took three weeks - stripped right back to framing - everything replaced - 13.5K - was a nightmare and they caused a leak!

Thanks for sharing, nice results. Have they not applied tanking? I can see from first photo they left old plaster

You don't need tanking as you call it, behind a bath. You need it behind a shower where, instead of plasterboard you would use waterproof (wedi) board and then your waterproof finish (tiles/ shower panels). Behind a bath, just grouted tiles are fine.

£1.8k labour, £3.2k materials, took 2 weeks (10 days of labour)
London zone 2

Hi, would you mind sharing who you used and whether you’d recommend? I tried to PM but couldn’t for some reason!

Yes it was replastered. The tiles took the plaster off, so it was reboarded. Not a relative at all. My builder who was doing the rest of my house recommended him the the job. He was just setting up on his own after doing the job for a company for years.

Just to derail the rude op, lovely bathroom @LittleRebelGirl 😍. Can I ask what colour paint that is ? I'm going to copy you

This has been a useful, if slightly strange, thread. I’m just waiting to hear back from a quote for a wet room. Similar area to many of you.

I know this is an old post but may I ask what paint colour this is? Redoing our bathroom and I love it!

Bloody hell. Wish I hadn't wasted my time here!
You're clearly looking for problems with everyone.
Yes it was back to brick. Yes it was replastered with plaster board, Yes it was tanked. It also had the pipes buried in the walls and under floorboards. Extractor fan fitted. Shaving socket fitted. New towel rad. New skirting. New doors. New architrave. I didn't have a tiled floor. Walls 2/3rd tiled. New pvc ceiling and spotlights.

Edited

Are you pleased with your pvc ceiling? I'm interested in getting one .

Honeyroar · 02/03/2025 09:06

We’ve had a pvc ceiling for 20 years in our bathroom, it’s been great.

Does anybody else feel very, very sorry for whichever poor bastard ends up doing the OP's bathroom?
