We trying to sort our master bathroom, it's 3x4m. This will be a full renovation (back to bricks). We don't want to go for makeover option, we want to do it properly so it would last 15-20 years. Wondering what prices you have paid recently (full cost)? Manchester/UK area? How long it took to renovate? We not looking at budget nor bispoke - something in a middle, but with decent finish

5.5k. Local to you. I didn't replace the toilet or sink, but they were removed for the full refit.

LittleRebelGirl · 12/02/2024 15:07

It took 3 weeks, but that was only because the bathroom fitter was doing it in evenings and weekends. It would have been a week - 7 full days I'd imagine.

what was price? 7 days, seems like shortcuts been taken :) If you will google - proper bathroom job takes around 14-20 working days if is done properly. Assuming working: 8.00-17.00

Did that involved stripping back to bricks, replastering, applying tanking and etc.? Seems way too cheap. Maybe is your relative who done that?

My daughter paid £8000 for a large bathroom (bath and shower over the bath). We paid around £5500 for a small bathroom with shower only. Both in South Wales

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 12/02/2024 15:14

Just two weeks ago I was quoted £4.5k to take out a bath and put in a shower cubicle (I already had the shower unit). I think the bulk was for retiling behind where the bath had been.
Too much for me right now.

@Delerium1970

Why are you telling people that their timelines are too short or the prices they paid are too cheap?

You asked how much people's bathroom renovations cost and how long they took. People are giving you their answers. Don't be a twat.

TwattingDog · 12/02/2024 15:15

Quoted £5k for a 2x2.5m bathroom back to brick, removal of asbestos ceiling, new ceiling, new lights, new pipework (as it drains badly at the moment), new floor, fully fitted shower, toilet and sink. Tiled walls and floor, panelled ceiling. Cornwall. Planned for later this year.

Concestor · 12/02/2024 15:15

OP why are you accusing people of lying or having had a bad job done when they are just answering your question and trying to help?

SerotinaPickeler · 12/02/2024 15:15

£8,500, stripped out old, everything new, tiling half wall, karndean flooring. Midlands.

Anjo2011 · 12/02/2024 15:15

We are having ours done mid March a full turn key (fully finished) project. No major changes in layout, but full replastering, top to bottom tiles, new lighting, electrics, extractors, flooring as well as bathroom suite, shower, basin, unit , loo etc. LED mirror, stainless steel towel rail. Fully finished is £14k.

SnowsFalling · 12/02/2024 15:17

9k
Stripped back where the tiles were (because the whole lot came off with the tiles) but lots only half tiled and that plaster remained on the walls.
Bath turned round, so a little extra pipework for the drain, but no major layout changes.
Not tanked.
2 weeks.

BridasShieldWall · 12/02/2024 15:19

£12k roughly. It’s approx 2m x 2m with just a shower, sink and unit and small wall unit. Everything taken out including walls, pipes etc and new partition walls built, boarded, electrics, fan etc etc. It’s small so we did a spend a lot on the shower, tray, tiles etc more than we did for the bathroom so it is really lovely. We’re in the. North.

LittleRebelGirl · 12/02/2024 15:19

Yes it was replastered. The tiles took the plaster off, so it was reboarded. Not a relative at all. My builder who was doing the rest of my house recommended him the the job. He was just setting up on his own after doing the job for a company for years.

Can somebody advise how much recently you paid for your full bathroom renovation?

That looks amazing!

Foxymoxy68 · 12/02/2024 15:32

Similar size bathroom to yours.
Full renovation, back to brick, new ceiling and lighting, rotten floorboards replaced and click flooring fitted, major work on gas pipes, luxury walk in shower, fully tiled, all electrics, new door and architrave, 800mm floating sink with LED mirror and toilet.
Fitter said it will 'future proof' it for us (we are in our 50s). Started last week and will take 3 weeks in total. £14,500.
We were shocked at the quote at first but we believe it will be worth every penny now we can see what a thorough job it is. West Midlands

Foxymoxy68 · 12/02/2024 15:33

Oh and a floor to ceiling towel rail too.

Alicewinn · 12/02/2024 15:34

£1.8k labour, £3.2k materials, took 2 weeks (10 days of labour)
London zone 2

Nap1983 · 12/02/2024 15:37

Just had full renovation, took 7 full days 8.5k. Everything stripped back to brick and fully tiled. Got rid of bath and spent a good bit on walk on shower and fluted glass screen.

BrassOlive · 12/02/2024 15:42

Really helpful thread thanks OP

Chunkymonkey123 · 12/02/2024 15:46

We have done two in the last year. Both 3x3m with a bath and separate showers. Porcelainosa tiling on floors and walls. Back to brick both times. 18k ish each. Took 4 weeks both times. Single tradesman at a time. East Midlands. Had higher quotes!

ReignOfError · 12/02/2024 15:47

Small bathroom, total refit, yes, back to brick, about 7/8ths tiled, new loo, sink, bath, shower, storage: £4.8k, took 7 working days, in 2020, Midlands.

We had the lights and fan, towel rail and flooring done as part of other renovations, so those would be extra.

Delerium1970 · 12/02/2024 15:47

Thanks for sharing, nice results. Have they not applied tanking? I can see from first photo they left old plaster

@Delerium1970

Why are you telling people that their timelines are too short or the prices they paid are too cheap?

You asked how much people's bathroom renovations cost and how long they took. People are giving you their answers. Don't be a twat.

Not calling, just asking. We done previously 2 bathroom renovations (in our old house in 2016), it took as average 14-16 days and fitter worked really hard, but it was done properly. Hence I am stating, I don't think is realistic do it within 7 days. There is lots of false advertising on facebook companies stating they can do full bathroom renovation in 3-7 days. Is very unrealistic from my point of view. If you feeling better calling others "twatt" and not trying to read properly nor understand - what is the point? I like details, hence I am posting here
