We have a few decorative bits we are waiting on being delivered but does it seem something is missing from my daughters bedroom?

Chest of drawers - how do you manage without one? Where else are all the pants, socks, vests, t-shirts, shorts, swimwear etc. that don't get hung up going to go?

Big armchair for reading bedtime stories - I would have this instead of the tent, which would last 5 seconds with my 2 boys, but your daughter may be more careful.

bedside table & light
chair for you
it's personal choice but some colour as it's a bit muted.

DogsAndGin · 23/03/2022 17:09

Beautiful room! What a lucky girl! A rug would be cosy, and when she’s old enough some shelves that she can reach to access her own books - like you’ve said. Fab room! Smile

fogglez · 23/03/2022 17:10

some prints on the wall

fogglez · 23/03/2022 17:11

is the blind black out?

fogglez · 23/03/2022 17:12

agree with pp that you could add some stronger pink to lift it but still keep it pink.

Some of these comments are just unkind. It's a lovely room and you've had some good suggestions for what might be missing. The main thing missing though is that it looks unlived in, which as you've explained is currently the case, so it'll immediately look cosier and less "showroom" like once your daughter has moved into it.

Everyone's taste is different so it won't please everyone but it only needs to please you and your daughter so that's fine Smile

OnceuponaRainbow18 · 23/03/2022 18:00

Maybe less pink, and proper good black out blinds

I know, I didn’t think a simple post would turn into being mum shamed because my daughter has a pink bedroom 🤨 but there you go.. Thankyou though at least some people still know how to be kind and give their opinion without being spiteful 🙂

There absolutely nothing wrong with pink but you did ask what was missing hence why I said a bit more colour/different shades of pink. It wasn't meant to be rude.

Oh no you weren’t the rude one don’t worry!

i loved pink as a girl, obsessed!

AHungryCaterpillar · 23/03/2022 18:43

It’s a lovely room, these comments are vile, my daughter loves pink and I hate blue so I’m not going to do her room blue just to make a point 😒 loads of little girls love pink, I wondered if you posted your sons room and it was blue if people would have told you to turn it pink 🤦🏻 Bet not!

BitOutOfPractice · 23/03/2022 18:50

So are you going to take up any of the helpful suggestions?

I particularly think you need to think about the windows - that blind is really pretty but won't stop your daughter waking at 4am in June and claiming it's morning Grin

Yes definitely!

I’ll order some prints, and I like the idea of a dolls house, and of course curtains I think that’s a must

No one has said she should do the room blue Hmm. Or even change the pink.

The comments are not “vile”. They have simply suggested some brighter colours and things to make it less obviously gendered.

FindingMeno · 23/03/2022 19:11

It's lovely as it is.
Calming and airy feeling.
Perfect!

RJnomore1 · 23/03/2022 19:14

My youngest was a climber abs she could climb while inside her sleeping bag so please rethink the chest under the window!

It just needs a wee dash of personality I think and that’s because it’s a just decorated and not lived in yet brand new room. It will come. Some green cushions might be a nice wee highlight against the pink?

Whenigrowupiwanttobea · 23/03/2022 19:16

A massive great big Winnie The Pooh cuddly bear!!!

Yes there have been some pure vile comments from nasty jealous posters, I still believe if she had posted a boys room that was mostly blue she wouldn’t have been told to make it less blue 🙄

A basket with books in if she can't have a book shelf.
Some colour, it's beautiful but very one shade. A rug with other colours in.may be.

JuliaSways · 23/03/2022 19:26

My god, someone left the gate open at the Let's Be Twats farm.

It's a lovely room OP. Some excellent suggestions already, but to make it less pale you could go for the opposite colour (on the colour wheel) for the prints? So from memory....that's going to be greens.

Yes a basket of books is an idea she loves her touchy feeley books 😁
