I am increasingly pleased by Emma Bridgewater’s things of beauty. The older I get the greater my obsession is becoming. Even my OH covets a few pieces, especially the Game Birds items (no that isn’t a euphemism 😬).

I’m surely not on my own. Are you an avid collector? What’s your favourite piece? I struggle to choose a favourite but currently I’m enjoying tea made in this beauty (attached)

Let’s see yours 😍

(Not sure if I’ve posted in the right topic, perhaps Mumsnet ought to have a Things of Beauty Board 🙏)

CK, yes a Cath Kidston. I’m not as refined as my DH.

TheRealHousewife · 11/08/2021 22:54

@FuzzyPuffling How wonderful! I imagine EB to be a lovely warm person.

@Buckleyourseatbelt nothing wrong with Cath Kidson 👍

@SoupDragon you’d make a fortune selling your spares! Even second hand fetch good prices.

One of a pair of small Game Pattern mugs. Just perfect size for a coffee ☕️

Love it!! Dandelion is my current fave.
I have wanted a pint mug for ages. Now I'm going to have to take a look for research purposesWink

TheRealHousewife · 12/08/2021 22:46

Thank you @EB2018 … it’s just perfect for the first mug of Tea of the day ☕️. Brewed tea in it today after it had been pre warmed in dishwasher. Extra lovely brew.

FYI - the Emma Bridgewater pint mugs are not a current pint measure.

They're 470ml whereas since 1826 a British imperial pint has been 568ml.

EB use the traditional English measure (as do the USA).

So if you need a full pint of tea in the morning, these aren't for you! Grin

Hi EB Fans 😊

Have you seen the new Halloween collection? Some nice pieces. I’ve treated our household to the 2 mugs shown in this pic. What do you think?

@TheRealHousewife lovely!!!!

I'm resisting the urge to buy - we probably won't be in our new house until after Halloween and I already have some Halloween bits in storage - but can't remember what I have!

Tangledtresses · 06/09/2021 13:20

Ooh yes I have lots of it.... none in matching patterns though!

My favourite mug is the gold kings of orient Christmas mug.

I have a few bowls but they just don't survive the dishwasher and quite cracked now....

I have manage to save tokens from the side of homepride boxes of flour and bought some lovely bowls, cups and t towels from the homepride range. Does anyone else do this?

TheRealHousewife · 06/09/2021 13:25

@niki26 how exciting! I hope your move goes smoothly.

@Tangledtresses I saved Yeo tokens once (from yoghurt) and managed to save enough for a tea towel. It was very small, smaller than normal and had been cut on the twist so didn’t fold up neatly 😬

Tangledtresses · 06/09/2021 13:31

Oh dear @TheRealHousewife that's not a great sounding thing towel
The homepride range is pretty good.... it's so antiquated sending off tokens 😂 but I love sending them off... everything was half price last year and they sent me 2 more bowls than I asked for Grin

TheRealHousewife · 06/09/2021 13:50

That’s a win! @Tangledtresses … love your username. Reminds me of my hair in a morning 😅

I love EB for a different reason i manage the Ebay page for Yorkshire Cat Rescue and when we get an EB mug donated they always fetch a good price

KilledByWitches · 14/09/2021 15:35

Oh, hadn't realised there was a Halloween theme going on.

Currently awaiting the kitchen being redone and I'm very much leaning towards a Halloween theme (been picking up skull jars etc from TK Maxx).
Might have to persuade DH towards a run to the factory Friday afternoon. It's only a couple of miles up the road but a very dangerous place 😂

TheRealHousewife · 24/09/2021 05:14

@KilledByWitches how do you resist going to the factory shop 😯. The only reason I haven’t been yet is it’s a bit too far … although I do keep promising myself a trip.

Looking forward to the Christmas releases at the beginning of October 😬

Oh I love my bridgewater, my partner was very kind for my birthday and got me the kettle and 4 slice toaster to match my polka dot collection.
(It meant I had to buy a cream microwave to match though)

I'd like to start incorporating a different pattern in with the polka dot soon. Not sure which to go for.

HarrietsweetHarriet · 24/09/2021 09:31

When do you think.this year's Christmas range will be revealed? I've been hanging on to a voucher in anticipation although it will probably go on a gift for someone else as I'm skint this year.
I have a few treasured pieces but almost all seconds or bought on Ebay. I have one tiny Christmas jug that hangs on the tree. It gives me a real pang of joy every time it comes out of the decorations box. Sometimes it's the little things isn't it? X

Fairly easy at the moment as the whole area is one big set of bloody roadworks 😂

I did go to World of Wedgwood yesterday for a mooch, but nothing really impressed me and it was still fairly expensive. That said, if you're in the area for factory shops it's worth a visit.
You could make a decent overnighter of EB. There is a hotel now within walking distance and we have a lot of other factory shops to tour as well and the Gladstone Pottery Museum where they are currently filming Throwdown again. If you're into ceramics there is a fair bit to see here.

MoonahStone · 05/10/2021 12:44

I'm loving the new Spruce range in the Christmas collection.

HarrietsweetHarriet · 06/10/2021 09:45

Am I alone in saying I'm a little bit disappointed with the Christmas Spruce design? There is only really one item I love which is the dinner plate surrounded with ivy. But I can only afford one! Otherwise the autumn range I think is prettier. Or I might get DH a personalised Christmas mug with 'Grinch' on as that pretty much sums him up at Christmas!

HarrietsweetHarriet · 06/10/2021 10:07

I love the ivy-encircled dinner plate. But can only afford one so not sure if it's worth it.
My favourites have always been the Christmas range with the orange slices, I don't remember the name.

TheRealHousewife · 29/10/2021 20:51

I love the iconic Polka Dot design @escapisum101. I think EB pottery looks better mixed up a little. I have quite an eclectic taste and that’s definitely reflected in my EB collection 😬 (probably helped by not being able to buy much at any one time).

@HarrietsweetHarriet I love the little jugs. I got one this year. I find them great for serving single serves of cream to go with coffee or dessert. I like the new designs. I wasn’t so bothered by the mushroom design. Too abstract. Although the lidded soup tureens were lovely, just not keen on the pattern. I was hoping for a different design to come out in the tureens but nothing so far. I don’t recall the orange slice design but I might remember if I saw a picture.

@KilledByWitches I’m tempted to arrange a trip next spring. I’m still mithering friends to go with me. No one is interested in pottery like I am and they’d much rather go to the med or a spa break 🧖‍♀️ Whats the hotel?

@MoonahStone I like the spruce that has the little Robin on it. I feel you could use that pattern in autumn and winter and not just at Christmas time.

I’ve attached a pic of my Christmas purchases. Santa’s Joyful Sack (looks better in real life, padded, lined, just lovely). Also my Tiny Christmas Jug. Someone shared a 20% discount code on social media and surprisingly it worked.

Hello, thinking to buy the polka dot kettle and toaster. Anyone has them? Do they last? Toast well? Thank you.
