I am increasingly pleased by Emma Bridgewater’s things of beauty. The older I get the greater my obsession is becoming. Even my OH covets a few pieces, especially the Game Birds items (no that isn’t a euphemism 😬).

I’m surely not on my own. Are you an avid collector? What’s your favourite piece? I struggle to choose a favourite but currently I’m enjoying tea made in this beauty (attached)

Let’s see yours 😍

(Not sure if I’ve posted in the right topic, perhaps Mumsnet ought to have a Things of Beauty Board 🙏)

@Jonesy88 I keep promising myself a trip to the factory shop. The credit card is quivering at the very thought of that!

@makingmyway10 your kitchen, EB collection and baby blue range sound delightful 😍

Can I join?! Name change to show my little mish mash collection, I started in 2018. Currently researching for the perfect dresser to display everything properly.

I do have a few more pieces but not on display.
Love Scutterbug's dresser!

TheRealHousewife · 11/08/2021 05:31

Of course you can join us @EB2018. Nice & bright collection. The Dandelion pattern is fast becoming one of my favourites. I love the brightness of the yellow. I’ve tried and tried to get one of the Dandelion Egg Nests to no avail. Unfortunately I think they are discontinued now. You’ve managed to get the large cup & saucer 👍

Is the other yellow pattern buttercup?

@TheRealHousewife thank you! We moved house last year and I have my dream kitchen with lots of EB . When we viewed the house I walked into the kitchen and just knew this was the house as the kitchen was perfect for EB. Grin

What was your last purchase?

makingmyway10 · 11/08/2021 06:59

Yes buttercup is the only other yellow pattern I think Smile

DukeOfEarlGrey · 11/08/2021 07:02

@makingmyway10 I’d like to see some photos please! It sounds fab.

makingmyway10 · 11/08/2021 07:28

@DukeOfEarlGrey thank you but that would be very outing and I like my anonymity on here Grin

Onthetrain75 · 11/08/2021 07:31

I have a dresser full….and more! I love it all. It gets daily use and has been fab.

DukeOfEarlGrey · 11/08/2021 07:33

@makingmyway10 ah yes, fair enough - I will have to imagine the beauty! Wink

makingmyway10 · 11/08/2021 07:37

@DukeOfEarlGrey that’s a better idea can you add a swimming pool and a couple more Labradors in the imaginary one? Grin

reprehensibleme · 11/08/2021 07:47

The factory shop is well worth a visit - good cafe too, and there are sometimes some stonking bargains on seconds - I have 4 x holly mugs which were £5 each.

I like the shape of the mugs and bowls - the mugs are lovely to drink out of. We have a tomato patterned dish which we use for salad, and I like the new apple pattern.

felulageller · 11/08/2021 07:59

I love it too (except the royalty fawning stuff)

DobbyTheHouseElk · 11/08/2021 08:04

I have one mug. Drinking from it now, can I join in?

Buckleyourseatbelt · 11/08/2021 08:10

My husband likes to drink from EB mugs so he has a heart one and a personalised gardening one. I like to drink from a CK mug myself. Smile

YumBroadBeans · 11/08/2021 08:36

They're pretty but every single piece I've ever had (quite a few over the years) has been unable to cope with modern life / dishwasher / microwave. Prints have faded, glaze has cracked, handles have dropped off, the bowls with little pedestals on the base fill up with water in the dishwasher - and I've had a few pieces which were actually pretty dangerous when microwaved as they got so hot.

SoupDragon · 11/08/2021 08:39

Every item with some kind of dip on the base fills up with water in the dishwasher though.

I have some pieces that get used regularly and they've coped just fine with daily life. Dishwashers can be harsh on most things over time though.

EB2018 · 11/08/2021 08:52

Yes the buttercup goes well with the dandelion @TheRealHousewife

The dandelion cup and saucer was a first set, but I managed to get the polka dot and rose sets individually in sales.

makingmyway10 · 11/08/2021 09:22

@YumBroadBeans you are not supposed to microwave EB but the dishwasher should be fine apart from the glassware which is hand wash only.

TheRealHousewife · 11/08/2021 09:23

@makingmyway10 Sounds lovely. My latest purchase is yet to arrive. It’s a pint pot mug 😬. In dandelion 😍 I fully understand why you’ve not posted a pic. I’m careful what I post too.

@reprehensibleme that sounds like a right bargain!

@Onthetrain75 👍

@felulageller I’m not so keen on the royal ones either as not ‘cottagy’ enough. I’m not keen on the splatter patterns ones either for the same reason.

@DobbyTheHouseElk that’s how it starts. One mug. Then another … 😬

@Buckleyourseatbelt what’s a CK mug sorry for my ignorance.

@YumBroadBeans sorry to read about your difficulties. It does say on EB site/products not microwave safe. I had the same problem with the pedestals holding water until I placed them like a plate in the wider gapped rails. I do like the shape/size of the pedestal bowls and use them most days.

@EB2018 yes I have a polka dot set and and pansy set. OH has a toast set and will only have his tea out of that one 😬

Does anyone have the small mugs? I’ve kept seeing them and thought them too small. I got a couple in seconds and they are just the right size for a coffee ☕️.

@TheRealHousewife CK is Cath Kidston I think
Thank you for the comment about my kitchen Smile I only have the swimming pool in my dreams .
I agree about the Royal mugs, not for me at all.

Nanasueathome · 11/08/2021 09:33

@Scutterbug

Love EB - here’s some of mine!
Oooohhhhh I thought I had lots but I think this collection beats mine

I’m also addicted to the EB jugs that Waitrose florist does
I actually have 14 of them, although 2 are the same

FuzzyPuffling · 11/08/2021 11:13

I had lunch with EB once. She was a delightful, modest and charming person.

SoupDragon · 11/08/2021 12:16

I can't post a photo of my whole collection for that reason - anyone who has been in my kitchen will recognise it 😂

I also have some boxed in the loft which I meant to sell once the designs were withdrawn but haven't got round to.
