Have you been growing a whopper of a pumpkin for Halloween? Or shop bought is fine

Do you and your DC carve a Jack O' Lantern every year? Or do you just want to show off your artistic brilliance?

Upload a picture of your pumpkin here for us all to howl ogle over and any top carving tips/pumpkin recipes you have, do share.

I refreshed the page and it worked. Smile some fabulously creative ones on here! I'm inspired! Pumpkins are new to me because we always had a turnip!

spamm · 31/10/2012 20:34

Not a fab pic, but all I have with me til I get home for Trick or Treating. Ds's on the left, mine on the right.

DontCallMeBaby · 31/10/2012 21:48

Mine rally will NOT upload, grr!

DontCallMeBaby · 31/10/2012 21:48

Aha!

vodkaanddietirnbru · 31/10/2012 21:59

I like the upside down look

DontCallMeBaby · 31/10/2012 22:17

Well, I have NO idea how that happened.

Ghoulies · 31/10/2012 22:50

LOVE these! Grin The sugar skull/dia dos muertos one is fab.

Here's mine. I've always wanted to do one of these. Unfortunately, DS1 was very saddened because the big nasty one was eating his baby pumpkin. Sad Maybe I should've waited a few more years?

OhlimpPricks · 31/10/2012 22:54

Not my work, funny nonetheless!

Ghoulies · 31/10/2012 23:00

Here's a shot of the poor baby pumpkin (who has his own battery tealight). I'm going to have to get DS1 another one, aren't I?

Ghoulies · 31/10/2012 23:06

Excellent, OhLimpPricks!

dizzyday07 · 31/10/2012 23:20

I carved a Tinkerbell pumpkin for DD from a template I downloaded

SleeveOfWizard · 31/10/2012 23:28

Love the pinterest link. You can see them much better on there. Thanks MNHQ.

ukjalady · 01/11/2012 19:52

Pumpkins carved by my friend Carla - she has been doing it for years - and more amazingly - carved them for us while chatting - freehand - no marker on them - just did them - She is amazing...!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 01/11/2012 22:11

How do you do the ones where some of the skin is taken off, leaving just the fleshy part?

Does the skin come off easily?

ErrorError · 02/11/2012 01:15

You can buy special pumpkin carving tools but I used a combination of various sized knives, potato peeler and a screwdriver! Think the texture is like a butternut squash.

Jas · 02/11/2012 09:57

I also use a screwdriver!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 02/11/2012 19:45

That might be a job for me then rather that our ds's (4 and 7).

I bought the carving tools this year, but it didn't include anything that would have got the skin off very successfully.

I must plan next years more in advance!
