Have you been growing a whopper of a pumpkin for Halloween? Or shop bought is fine

Do you and your DC carve a Jack O' Lantern every year? Or do you just want to show off your artistic brilliance?

Upload a picture of your pumpkin here for us all to howl ogle over and any top carving tips/pumpkin recipes you have, do share.

And a scary witch

JollyJackOLantern · 30/10/2012 22:06

We bought ours on Thursday and carved them Friday.

On Monday we came home from work to find they had melted. That was somewhat unpleasant to clean up.

RebeccaMumsnet · 30/10/2012 22:09

Just found this one online.
It's had me laughing so thought I'd share [hgrin]

I carved one on sunday and another on monday. I sprayed the cut edges with wd40 to protect them a bit (you can use vaseline too) and they are still ok. I had to stick the one from sunday in a basin of cold water today as it was starting to curl a bit at the cut edges - I then dried it off a bit and resprayed with wd40. Hoping they will both last till tomorrow night.

One of the most effective ones I've done, from last year

Grin at the pumpkin giving birth! Made by a doctor and apparently displayed in a hospital. Hmm

Poor Mama Pumpkin. On her back, cannulated so probably pumped full of syntocinon, baby apparently back-to-back ...

Grin

Yours are all so fabulous! How are you all so great at this? Are you all professional pumpkin carvers or something Grin

Mine look awful in comparison!

HeinousHecate · 31/10/2012 16:09

And although you can't see it, I gave my pumpkin face red pupils and a silver filling in one of his teeth Grin
