My ds1 (8) is doing "Africa" as a topic at school this term (and loving it).

His teacher gave him the address of this website which is a webcam at a waterhole in Botswana. He loves watching it and seeing the animals.

PS Don't check just now though as the cameras are offline and not working for some reason! Check later in the day - after school is a good time.

Lucycat · 02/10/2005 14:17

QueenOfQuotes · 02/10/2005 14:19

oooo - croc out of the water

Janh · 02/10/2005 14:23

Is that nellie getting back in? Is she all right?

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 14:33

She seems to be having a drink and a shower

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 14:48

nellie is snorkelling

Cam · 02/10/2005 14:49

Ah at last, after all these years, a thread title with my name in it

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 15:04

there is a deer near the water with croc in water near it

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 15:07

is ok gone away now

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 15:08

aeroplane overhead

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 15:08

nellie still snorkelling

Janh · 02/10/2005 15:08

Do you think nellie's behaviour is normal? I'm worrying about her now.

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 15:09

another one was doing same thing this morning

snorkelling

Janh · 02/10/2005 15:10

Oh I don't mean the snorkelling, they couldn't breathe otherwise, I mean the spending hours and hours on her own in the water.

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 15:12

Oh I thought that was what you meant so was rather puzzled

There was a bigger one alone doing same thing this morning

Don't think she is a baby IMHO she is a young adult

Or could be a bull nellie called george

Bulls would be alone more but would be a young bull ie not very big for adult one

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 15:17

zebras are back

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 15:22

mumsnet has got a mention

nellie or george is standing up now and is bigger than I thought so IMHO it could be a george

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 15:39

the back right leg seems to keep being lifted up

but read on the blog that they go in water to rest cos they don't often lie down cos it takes weight offf legs

but the back rear one keeps being lifted out

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 15:40

is lying down again in water

Cam · 02/10/2005 16:02

That is one of the most relaxing things I've ever seen, I will use that to chill out to

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 16:07

It does get rather stressful though when croc appears and there are animals around the edge or in the water

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 16:23

zebras back

jacobsmummy · 02/10/2005 16:30

Oooooh! I've just seen my first Bustard!
