Africa Waterhole Web Cam

My ds1 (8) is doing "Africa" as a topic at school this term (and loving it).

His teacher gave him the address of this website which is a webcam at a waterhole in Botswana. He loves watching it and seeing the animals.

PS Don't check just now though as the cameras are offline and not working for some reason! Check later in the day - after school is a good time.

Ive got it

Its too late now for me to see anything as all the animals will be tucked up fast asleep
I cant wait to have a peep tomorrow.

thanks.

Rear n/s leg not moving as well as the others you know - very limited. Wonder if he/she has arthritis? Or an infection somewhere?

marthamoo · 02/10/2005 18:49

This sounds fab - it's dark there now but I've put it on my favourites.

You lot sound like a bunch of excited kids "oooh...oooh a crocodile....I saw a zebra...oooh quick look now there's an elephant!"

Janh · 02/10/2005 18:51

You can still see, moo - they have lights - it's all b&w though.

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 18:54

Have just been reading blog about elephants dying

George is standing on it now

I hope he is ok

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 18:55

does seem very lathegic though

The others may be back soon

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 18:56

the whole family have come down for an evening drink last 2 nights

marthamoo · 02/10/2005 18:57

Oooh I can see something in the water!!!

SherlockLGJ · 02/10/2005 18:57

Happy Birthday Moo.

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 18:58

that is george

SherlockLGJ · 02/10/2005 18:59

Did he lie down or fall down ???

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 19:00

he lay down but is very lathargic

MrsMills · 02/10/2005 19:03

Thanks btw RTKM, am now watching George in the water.

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 19:05

You're welcome

I am getting a bit worried by him atm

seems long gaps between him putting trunk up to breathe

MrsMills · 02/10/2005 19:12

It'd be even harder actually being a mattter of feet away from him and being so helpless, were anything to happen .

Maybe he just can't be arsed, it is Sunday after all.

SherlockLGJ · 02/10/2005 19:14

I can't watch.

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 19:15

I know I thought earlier it was because of the heat in the daytime

but now it is cooler

I know if his leg hurts it will be soothing ie without having weight on it but is so lathargic

I am glad DS is going to bed in a sec and that this was not during the day when he was watching

I wouldn't let him watch it now

I am just hoping the rest of them are going to come back

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 19:18

no he keeps putting his trunk up but there are long gaps between him doing it

whereas this afternoon it was more often out of the water like a snorkel

SueW · 02/10/2005 19:19

Has it frozen thevideo or is the trunk not responding too well at the mo?

RTKangaMummy · 02/10/2005 19:21

it is filming ok here

SherlockLGJ · 02/10/2005 19:33

Nothing to see, if, however you are listening for George as opposed to watching him, his breathing does seem to be more measured.
