2026 UCAS - Offers, Rejections and Waiting to Hear

For those whose DC have submitted their UCAS application without having yet taken the A-level (or equivalent) exams…

How are your DC getting on with hearing back from the universities?

We are going

to OHD this weekend @Fabfabfab. I’m looking forward to it but DS still has his heart set on UCL

@Llangewydd57 it’s between Warwick and Bath atm. Hopefully the offer holder days will make things clearer.

Then it’s just the matter of getting the grades!

@Ventress, we’re going to Warwick on Saturday too. Is there a MN outfit so we can wave at each other?!

My Dc applied mid Dec and got their final offer through yesterday morning, and firmed/declined offers yesterday evening.

The accommodation portal is already open for their firm choice, and we visited on an open day last year, so they decided not to wait for the offer holder days, but just go ahead and decide. We all (including the dog, who always needs to be part of the action) crowded round the laptop screen to watch the fateful click of the button confirming they were declining the remaining offers!

It feels such a weight off my shoulders to have that part decided now, think Dc feels a similar rush of relief.

Dc’s friend applied in October and is still waiting for St Andrews, which is their favourite. It’s just tortuous how it takes so long. Best wishes and good vibes to all those still waiting!

DD go her offer from Bath for psychology last night which was a huge relief.. and just shows they are getting their offers out earlier this year than last year when most seemed to come out end of March or beginning of April. Now just got to pick insurance 😬 good luck to anyone still waiting!

I like Reading 😊 we off to Durham on Friday. DS didn’t like Warwick so although he had an offer from them DS isn’t going to insure Warwick or Exeter. I think he’ll insure Durham and confirm UCL. Personally I’d prefer the other way around but DS knows himself best I guess.

Bath offer came in last night here too (mech eng), which DS is very pleased about. He and DP are off to Durham for OHD at the weekend - just waiting to hear from Imperial now...

Still waiting for PPE Warwick here. As much as I know they offer late, it’s annoying as it’ll be too late to go to this weekend’s OHD and the next one is just after exams start here in Scotland.

My other DN just got her LSE offer for International Relations!

Anyone heard from Bristol yet? DS still on hold for law

Dd got an offer from Bristol in January for Chemistry. Still waiting to hear from St Andrews.

Congratulations to all getting offers! We are still waiting for Newcastle and Durham and I am trying to stop asking if there is any news! I am hoping seeing Reading will be positive and ds will just accept the offer.

My friend’s son was on hold for law last year right up until the end the first week in May. He then got an offer. Not much help to you to hear this though-I hope your DC hears sooner.

Still waiting on maths from Warwick. DS has a few offers, including Durham which has the same grade requirement as Warwick. It’s starting to get frustrating though.

DD is also on hold for law at Bristol. She has offers for all her others but m Bristol is where she most wants to go, so that’s frustrating! She’s worried about accommodation.

It’s so annoying. Likewise here! I wish they would hurry up !
