Don't know how I feel about DS going to Uni

I am obviously very proud, but veer between being so very sad and so very happy for him.

I feel such mixed emotions to the extent that I dont know how I actually feel.

All the emotions are mixed up!

Anyone else?

DS moved in yesterday and is happy so far. One of the weird things that made me feel part of a group was spotting other cars on the M6 that looked like they were stuffed full of things for uni. Usually a duvet, pillows and a tv flat on top!

Then when we moved in, suitcases and bags being dragged about as we parked the car. You can physically see other parents kind faces and trying to hid worries, some nervous students and reassurance all round. They’ll be all settled and like pros in no time!

My daughter has said that when she was returning to my daughters Halls yesterday evening with some things for her there were lots of mums crying outside the building and lots of dads trying to look stoic. It must have been drop off day but she’ll be there another few days to make sure the appalling state of my granddaughters room is well and truly remedied before she leaves. She has already picked a spot outside the building where she’ll hide and cry 🤣
