It’s a no for DD. Good to finally be able to focus on elsewhere!

CatBumJuice · 24/01/2024 10:03

DD has an offer from Christ's. It's good to know, one way or the other! Just got to get the grades now.... Commiserations to those without offers - there are plenty of other brilliant universities.

Lightsabre · 24/01/2024 10:08

So sorry to hear about the 'no's' (we were there with O) and for those pooled, it must feel very unlucky. It's gutting for the dc (and us) but two weeks on you'll hopefully find they have moved, or are starting to move on and get excited about their other options.

Reminder about the redirection support thread if you want to join us.

mondaytosunday · 24/01/2024 10:10

Oh @Rollergirl11 I'm sorry to hear that. And others.
Congrats to those with offers. It will be a very long wait til after lunchtime when DD gets home.

sellingpetrol · 24/01/2024 10:10

@prettycosmos that’s awesome. Normally that college allocation would be the other way round! Congrats to your DD 🙌

sorry to hear that, but she has some excellent offers from other universities and she will shine.

It's a no for my DS as well. I'm so sad for him, but very glad he's got an offer from Durham to take some of the sting away.

Probably oversharing - he had serious health issues when he was younger, and we were very lucky that he survived. So I'm grateful that he's even able to apply for university. Yet still really disappointed for him if that makes sense. He's at school so not spoken to him yet - hope he'll be ok, I'm sure he'll bounce back, he's amazingly resilient.

best of luck to those still waiting and congratulations and commiserations to those who have heard.

Commiserations. An offer from Durham is excellent!

Rollergirl11 · 24/01/2024 10:19

DD’s read the email fully now. She has been put in to the August reconsideration pool but I doubt she will want to do that. Best to crack on with her other options.

Excellent news @CatBumJuice !! Well done your DD!

AMuser · 24/01/2024 10:20

I hadn’t realised there was an August pool till now just the winter pool 🤷🏻‍♀️

Rollergirl11 · 24/01/2024 10:21

Well done @prettycosmos DD and what a relief it’s not hanging over you for your Dad’s funeral.

Harumff · 24/01/2024 10:22

Pooled then rejected for DS (MML). That’s exactly what happened to his sister two years ago so a nice bit of parity in our house at least! He fine to be honest as he has a Durham offer he’s really happy about. A little dint in the pride but that will soon be forgotten about.

hope those being redirected this morning are holding up OK. Just had a phonecall from dd and she got pooled and offered a place at Jesus college (had applied to Newnham) she so happy. She had siad she wasnt going to check email till she got home at lunchtime but siad she saw it said congratulations in the title! Im so happy for her, and thankfully that means we can all now focus on my dads funeral tomorrow without additional upset.

What excellent news at such a difficult time for you all. Congratulations!

Congrats to your DD, Jesus is a great college and DD who did apply to Newnham and got it was surprised when she looked at the stats how competitive it was, it was one of the hardest colleges to get into for her subject. She has some lovely friends at Jesus she made through the ADC.

mondaytosunday · 24/01/2024 10:40

So despite what everyone thought looks like most are getting informed via an email from their college? Not UCAS?

fringeofclaudia · 24/01/2024 10:43

A no here as well, she was pooled then not picked up. Oh well, she has some other great offers she is very keen on so at least we can move forward with more certainty now.
Good luck to everyone else waiting, congrats to those with offers and all the best to those who havent got in, I'm sure they will all do amazingly no matter where they go x

losingtheplot999 · 24/01/2024 10:43

Does anyone know if offers and rejections are sent out at the same time?

SOWK · 24/01/2024 10:45

DS has an offer from Caius. Sorry to those who have not been lucky.

Flamingo965 · 24/01/2024 10:48

It’s a no for us. I’m so proud of him as he lost his Dad in September, so it was a massive thing to go through all of this process whilst grieving. It does takes the pressure away a little now as his other offers are lower grades.

congrats to all those with offers!

ladsmum · 24/01/2024 10:49

Well done to those with offers and big hugs for those without.
It’s a No here. DS is a bit deflated but has a few peers to commiserate with. He’s waiting to hear from 3 choices so lots of possibilities still.

space99 · 24/01/2024 10:51

Congrats to the DC with offers and commiserations to those without.
My DS has just text to let me know he has been rejected. Says he's okay though, which is good!

losingtheplot999 · 24/01/2024 10:52

Congratulations to everyone on offers and sending hugs to those who have been redirected. DS2 says he isn't checking his emails until after his interview at UCL so it is going to be a long day.

AMuser · 24/01/2024 10:59

It’s a no here for my DC (HSPS). Sad for them but it was kind of expected.

massive congrats to those with a yes and hugs to those who are disappointed

lifeturnsonadime · 24/01/2024 11:00

Jaxx · 24/01/2024 09:28

It is a no for my son. Disappointed but relieved to be put out of my misery early.

Hopefully he is as unbothered as he seems - I guess we will find out in the next few days.

Jaxx I was routing for your son.

He will be fine though, I know he will want to go elsewhere but it would be cool if our boys could hook up at UCL.

Take it easy today. Processing this will take a little bit of time. Flowers

lifeturnsonadime · 24/01/2024 11:06

Congratulations to those with offers and commiserations to those who have been re-directed.
